Ultimate Mafia is a game of social deduction, role-play, and storytelling. Set in a town where the Mafia are trying to kill all of the townspeople and the townspeople are trying to identify and root out the Mafia, the game alternates between day and night phases. During the night, the Mafia decide who to kill and during the day, everyone accuses others of being in the Mafia and are voted out.
The game ends either when all of the Mafia are identified and voted out, or when all the townspeople have been eliminated from the game, either from being killed or voted out.
In addition to the roles that the players receive, each player also is provided with random power cards, such as providing an extra vote during the day to vote out players, saving the player once from death, protecting a specified player from being voted out for one round, etc.
There is one game master who facilitates the game and the various powers that the players use without revealing information to the other players. The game master is also responsible for the storytelling, creating a narrative to reveal the actions of that each of the players performed in the past round.
