Van Ryan’s Vault begins as a heist story that becomes a dungeon delve into a series of caves in a geothermal hotspot below the fictional city of Kierkegaard. But the PCs are not the only ones after the treasure, and there are many dangers down in the depths of the caverns.
Instead of verbose descriptions, whenever possible descriptive "tags" have been used to expedite running the game for the GM. While the first half of the adventure involves a heist requiring a number of social encounters, the second half is a dungeon crawl through subterranean caverns. For the dungeon crawl section, we've included ten "Encounter Cards" that can be printed and cut out for the GM to layout the caverns right at the table. Each card tells what is encountered in that section of the caverns and gives the corresponding page number in the module where more information is needed.
