Fifteen Lineages

Scarlet. Scarlet vyrmgnast are some of the smallest vyrmgnast, similar to how their ancestors were the littlest of the dragons. Despite, or maybe because of their small size, Scarlet vyrmgnast are expert acrobats. Combining their acrobatic skills with their rough, leathery skin, Scarlet vyrmgnast have become skilled martial artists. With highly sensitized hearing and mastery in martial arts, Scarlet vyrmgnast make excellent spies.

Azure. Azure Vyrmgnast remain close to their draconic ancestors, dwelling in deserts and cities constructed of sand. They moved slowly away from an instinct driven existence and became fascinated with the magic of the elemental world. Today, Azure vyrmgnast remain in sun scorched deserts, studying magic.

Verdant. Verdant vyrmgnasts are native to arboreal forests, and form communities in housing perched among the high boughs of ancient trees. They tend to be reclusive and rarely travel outside of their communities, but those who do often find work as spies and scouts due to their natural affinity for stealth.

Murk. Murk vyrmgnasts are an amphibious subspecies, spending their early lives exclusively in the water and moving to dry land in early adolescence. Most stay close to their places of birth, bringing up their offspring in the very same swamp where they were born, but they have a fondness for traders and can often be found haggling with merchants in the local markets and selling handmade goods to passersby.

Snow. Snow vyrmgnasts live on arctic peaks and at the foot of massive glaciers, eking out a living in some of the most hazardous environments on the planet. They live in small communities of 20 to 60 individuals in villages built out of icy blocks and act as guides to adventurers traversing the treacherous terrain.

Palladium. Palladium vyrmgnasts were created to serve as foot soldiers, exploring the world and establishing military alliances for their solitary draconic sires.

Magnesium. Magnesium vyrmgnasts live in underground eusocial communities, with one to three dominant females giving birth while other members serve as workers to support the entire burrow, which gives them a unique psychological profile compared to other subspecies.

Iron. As a subspecies created for war, the Iron vyrmngnasts wander the world in small warbands seeking to prove their might in combat and hunt down those who bring evil into the world.

Tungsten. Native to high mountains and plateaus, Tungsten vyrmgnasts are hardy and capable people used to toughing it out in environments otherwise hostile to civilization.

Meteorite. Meteorite vyrmgnasts have the closest relationship with their draconic sires, often living alongside them in pursuit of magic and knowledge.

Peridot. Peridot vyrmgnast are as adventurous and sturdy as their predecessors, living a nomadic life. Families are rarely in a single place for long, but this lets the young ones grow up with a greater understanding of the world and those who live in it. Grown, Peridot vyrmgnast often work in service positions- anything that lets them meet travelers and people from all corners of the world.

Carnelian. Carnelian Vyrmgnast are gentle giants like their ancestors, and similar to their ancestors the place they call home is where they can help people. Often, Carnelian vyrmgnast can be found in religious, spiritual, and communal centers, offering their support.

Fluorite. Fluorite vyrmgnast live high up on mountainside sanctuaries. Most Fluorite vyrmgnast run monasteries of solitude and healing, offering a place for hurt and lost souls to hide away from an unfair world and recover, though some have chosen other pursuits, such as academics or medicine.

Labradorite. Labradorite vyrmgnast are often found in two places: tropical climates and sprawling, bustling cities. Many younger vyrmgnast are born or relocate to large cities and move to their tropical homelands after in their later years. Labradorite vyrmgnast are fascinated with the people of the world, becoming skilled anthropologists in every aspect of the history and culture of their chosen people of study.

Obsidian. Obsidian vyrmgnast remain in the homelands of their ancestors: active volcanoes, firelands, and areas recently devastated by either eruption or fire. They are uniquely adept at surviving in intense heat and as a result, many Obsidian vyrmgnast have made their living through their connection to fire and heat as artists, blacksmiths, and firefighters.
