The Tunnel Rats of Vietnam were a specialized group of soldiers who courageously navigated and cleared the underground tunnel networks used by the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces during the Vietnam War. Armed with their wits, and a host of smaller weapons, they faced constant dangers such as booby traps and ambushes. Their mission was vital in disrupting enemy operations, extracting intelligence, and saving lives. Operating from the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, the Tunnel Rats demonstrated exceptional courage, adaptability, and mental resilience as they confronted the physical and psychological challenges of tunnel warfare.
