User Summary
Dark Crusade is an expansion in Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War Real Time Strategy series. It introduces two new playable factions; the alien Tau are ranged combat specialists while the robotic Necron use only power for production and upgrades and have the ability to resurrect some fallen troops.
This expansion marks a major change for the single player story mode by adding a campaign map with territories held by the various factions spread over system of planets. Players get to choose where and when to attack next leading to a non-linear plot where only the beginning and ending are faction unique. You have the ability to fortify territories between battles and gain bonuses for holding certain territories.
Dark Crusade can function as a stand alone game.
