Adventure Background
Aquilar Iridnostrim is famous across the nation. His unique watercolor paintings have been lauded by the very rich, by the very powerful, and by the common man alike. Visions of beaches, mountains, and other incredible vistas are a common theme in his works. Many are familiar while others are of far off exotic lands that some travelers have said are real. No one knows how Aquilar has painted these incredible visions of far off places from the attic room in his home, but no one doubts the incredible skill by which he performs his artistic labors.

Months ago Mr. Iridnostrim began to paint... peculiar landscapes. Strange cities deep underwater, and floating mountains in yellow skies. Many of these strange paintings were purchased, and endless speculation began to be passed about as to where these places were. It became an amusement of the wealthy to try and wonder if these strange landscapes were merely part of the imagination of Aquilar, or if they were in fact real places.

However the images took a dark turn. The landscapes began to become darker. Strange ruined cities, and plants that any who gazed upon them agreed simply did not appear like nature would have crafted them. They turned into vivid nightmares, and it came to the point his patrons simply did not want to look upon these unnatural works. All while Mr. Iridnostrim himself was becoming more and more eccentric. It was a week later that Mrs. Iridnostrim claims he was sucked into one of his paintings!

Most agree that Mr. Iridnostrim was becoming deeply eccentric, and more than likely had some kind of mental breakdown. Examination of the paintings came to nothing, but most agreed they were abominable at best. Mrs. Iridnostrim has locked the remaining pieces in his attic and has made a call for others to investigate. Responding to this call the party is asked to investigate the last strange piece, and to rescue Aquilar if it all possible.
