While many morally bankrupt historians will tell you that nothing good came from orcs, the mighty standing structures they make when given a chance to thrive tell an entirely different history. Orcs have long often been a hated people, called uncivilized and savage by those that wish to control their narrative. Orcish raiding is often necessary for their survival, as building settlements puts other more technologically developed societies on edge. There are those that believe large groups of orcs are dangerous and may ‘threaten the realm’ and so the societies they try to build are destroyed before they can become a problem. When Orcs are allowed to thrive, they build massive fortresses to protect their lands, meant to keep invaders out and keep their people safe. These citadels stand as a testament to what a society can do when left to thrive, sadly, many of them are found empty, or are filled with only a few members of a broken tribe that have grown too angry to see reason. In this place you may find magical stand up pens for raising animals, deep wells that pull water up from underground for irrigating crops, and countless fearsome weapons, including portable ballista.
