The province of Toranesta, wrested from the control of the bloodthirsty Myrantians nearly ten centuries ago, has always been restless under the benevolent rule of the Coryani Empire. Despite the Empire's best efforts to keep the peace and bring prosperity to Toranesta, the people are wont to rise up in revolt at the slightest provocation…and such provocation seems likely to come again soon.
The PCs are summoned to this troubled land by Hemin val'Tensen, General of the Legion of Radiant Glory, whom they may have met in LA-HP2-01: As Gray and Cold as Stone. Unfortunately, before they can find out what he wants of them, the General is attacked and incapacitated by a shapeshifting infernal. At the same time, the people of Abessios rise once more in open revolt.
