From the Introduction:
Seated on a small hill the wing tips reach almost 100 feet into the air when they reach the highest point of their rotation and the tower of the mill itself is only slightly smaller. Originally a small guard tower crowned this hill but it fell into disrepair and mostly collapsed. Only its ground floor was restored to provide a solid stone foundation for the windmill. The rest of the structure is almost entirely built from wood.
Inside the vault of the ground floor corn and the floor into which it is ground are stored. And only a small stairway leads up to the first floor containing the millstone and exits to the wooden walkway that allows access to the mills wings. A number of ladders lead further up to the open top floor, where the militia still holds archery practice every once in a while.
