Characters have four attributes (Brawn, Balance, Brains, Body) that are generated randomly with d26. The game has four races (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling), which may modify Attributes. There are six Skills and characters distribute five Skill Points among them--Combat, Magic, and Religion are all Skills. When Skills are used a dice pool is rolled (the number of dice depending upon the Skill level). Results of 5 and 6 are counted successes. Characters gain and spend Experience Points to raise Attributes, Skills, or gain new Spells. The game also presents a "monster matrix" of typical Attribute values by size.
