From publisher blurb:

AN EPISODE FOR FOUR TO SIX WANDERERS IN THE GWAETH SETTING

Thousands of years ago, in the waning days of the King Era - the Oldragalat - a leviathan named Hada the Deep discovered new magics, ones that could commune with beings across numerous planes. And in his dreaming, the world drowned. So arrived the Hadargalat - the Drowning Era. Doors opening in Hada’s subconsciousness invited in the Devourers, colossal monsters from a place where nature never knew any hunter or flame. Titanic sea monsters or gargantuan titans, it made no difference. For almost seven thousand years, Gwaeth knew nothing but primal chaos. Some became able to commune and find a balance with the great creatures, who still wander Gwaeth in peace to this day. But for some, no peace could be found. Whole portions of the world sunk beneath the waves or were eaten in massive maws. Finally though, a group of heroes from across the former nations of Gwaeth came together and forced the most destructive Devourers into a deep sleep within a pocket dimension locked…somewhere…

There were those who came to find some use of the corpses left behind, of the ancient bones and flesh of the Devourers who remained to rot. Trade in black-market Devourer organs and bone shavings began to rise, but others came to worship the spirits of these beasts as equalizers, as balance bringers. As the millennia passed, more and more of the bodies of the Devourers slowly became one with the land and faded away. However, there were still those who could be found if one knew where to look.

We see rising sandstone buttes, tall pillars of red rock, in the deep sandy grasslands of Vek. As we look over the shoulder of a broad-winged butte eagle, a town rises out of the grasslands, sitting on top of a large sandstone mound…or is it? As we come closer, spires become akin to ribs, large slates to scales, and more and more we can see as we watch the eagle wheel, that this small town sits upon the long-petrified corpse of a Devourer…which one though, we cannot say…
