Word Builder

An onset-and-rimes spelling card game with Crazy Eights mechanics.

The deck has:
- 41 Building block word cards, each with an onset [1-2 consonant word start] at the top of the card and a rime [word ending of a vowel and following consonants] at the bottom.
- 8 Star option cards, each with 6 different onsets, one of which is starred.
- 7 You Lose! cards.

During their turn a player plays a card with an onset that can go with a rime of the card on top of the discard pile to make a valid word. If they cannot play any card they draw a card and end their turn.

The You Lose! card makes the next player draw two cards and otherwise skip their turn. To win the hand, a player must play a You Lose! card as their final card.
