The Word Games set has cardboard letter tiles in 4 colors -- red, blue, green, and yellow, with close to 100 tiles in each color. The bottom of the box has brief rules for several games.
The main game is "Word Making, Word Taking", which has also been known as Anagrams. Central tiles are revealed one at a time, and any player may call out a word that can be spelled from the exposed tiles, and place that word in front of them. They can also call out words that can be made from one or more revealed tiles combined with other players' words, possibly rearranged. The first player to have 10 words wins.
That game mixes all the tiles together, the number of sets used depending on the number of players. The other games have each player use just their own set (color) of tiles.
- Words Galore: Form as many words from your set as you can in a given time.
- Sentences: Make a sentence using as many letters as possible from your set.
- Crosswords: Make a crossword using as many letters from your set as you can.
- Word Lines: Players take turns calling out a letter, and everyone takes that letter and places it in one of 6 lines of their letters, trying to spell words in each one.
