This adventure is part of the climactic story of Heroes of Rokugan. The Steel Lion, Akodo Gintaku, has seized control of the Imperial capital, imprisoned the princess Toturi Yukihime, and proclaimed himself as Emperor of Rokugan. He is supported not only by the remaining armies of the Lion Clan but also by a vast Shadowlands army which he has bound to his own service by means of the unnatural sacrifice of the Jade Dragon.
