The game is no longer playable in any form.

World of Speed is a massively multiplayer online action racing video game initially developed by Slightly Mad Studios and My.com and subsequently by Saber Interactive, for the PC platform. World of Speed was initially planned as a free-to-play and to be released in 2014. In January 2017 the developers closed the community forums and released a statement that the game was "not yet good enough for our players" and that "the project will be under-going a substantial revision". In August 2017, the game was rereleased on Steam as an Early Access title however on November 13th 2018 in an announcement on Steam, World of Speed was to shut down its servers on December 25th. A statement on its forum page read:
"As you may know, we started working on the F2P update early this year. We spent our time in the game. Yet we had to face some issues on the way. Eventually, we realised that we were not living up to our expectations and concepts. It is not a chance to make it a matter of course. We have had to complete our agreement with our partners and licence holders as well as try and improve decisions. So far, we've been developing for two years. During these years, although it is promising, it is envisaged that it went to love. We spent a lot of time on our online racing mechanics and balance. Unfortunately, it’s not worth it. For a lot of decisions. If you are not able to maintain critical goals for the project. Under such circumstances, we are forced to stop the development. We’ve been genuinely saddened by such a decision. The World of Speed Servers will be shut down permanently later this year on December 25th." it said.
