Description

Wrummy (Word Rummy) is a card game where players collect letter fragments to construct words. The game is played similar in concept to the card game 500 Rummy.

160 cards comprise single letters plus 2- and 3-letter fragments (biography, trigraphs).

[The above from the rules sheet.]

Players are dealt 7 cards, and the top card of the deck is turned over to start the discard pile. In their turn, a player:

- Draws:
—- The top card of the deck.
—- Any card of the discard pile, and all cards above it. This can only be done if the bottom card drawn is immediately used to make a word from the hand.
- Does one of the following:
—- Melds a new word using cards from the hand.
—- Add one or more letter from the hand to a word on the table make one or more new words using all its letters, and claiming the new word if previously owned by another player.
- Discards a card from the hand.

The round ends when a player empties their hand. Players score for all the words they own, and subtract the value of all cards left in their hand. Play until someone reaches an agreed goal total.
