An ancient evil seeks its own champion and a vast domain in which it can rule, even if it means tearing away a chunk of the Material Plane. Can the characters reach the source before it rips their world apart?
This adventure for characters of 11th to 16th level is optimized for a group of 5 characters at level 12. It is designed as an expansion of Curse of Strahd for groups that have completed their adventure in Barovia, tying in elements of the Forgotten Realms and traveling across the planescape. But the adventure can also stand on its own for any group in an urban setting that wants an introduction to interplanar travel.
At the climax, the adventurers must descend into the roots of the World Tree to the lair of Tarakamedes, the Grave Wyrm--a dark power trying to rend the world to create a demiplane it controls, with the aid of an evil champion, who may even be one of the characters!
