From publisher blurb:
In the city of Zhaemar, trust is a fleeting illusion, like smoke dissipating in the chill of the night air. Underneath its sprawling towers and narrow streets, a world of unseen deals, whispers, and carefully forged alliances thrives, hiding in plain sight. Here, the true power lies not with those who hold titles or sit upon thrones, but with the ones who operate in the shadows, unseen and unfathomable, their influence stretching through the city's veins like a dark pulse. You are one of these hidden hands. A part of a network known simply as “The Shadow,” you live by unspoken rules. No one in the network uses their real name, nor do they speak of where they came from, for anonymity is a necessity and perhaps the last thing that keeps them safe. The network is ancient, older than the city itself, and you know that every step, every whispered word, every mission completed keeps it alive—and keeps you alive. But today, things are different. There’s a tremor in the city, a whisper among whispers, hinting at something deadly yet uncertain. It begins as a rumor, one that ripples through the channels of the underworld, moving from thief to gambler to killer. The word is out: someone has broken the unbreakable rule. Someone has betrayed the Shadow.
As you make your way through Zhaemar’s labyrinthine alleys, your senses are sharpened by the threat of unseen eyes. Every encounter, every passing face, every stranger’s nod could be a hidden threat—or a silent ally. You’ve been summoned, along with a select group of skilled operatives, to investigate the source of this treachery and discover who dared to betray the network. The stakes are high, the danger palpable. For in Zhaemar, a betrayal of this scale could unravel not only the fragile balance of the underworld, but also the entire city itself.

The story is set up with an Introduction, a handful of location details and a few pertinent Story Points. The rest is down to you and your imagination.
The Actions you take should depend on who and what you see, and how you wish to interact. Keep a record of your story and adapt it as per the result of each Action. As you progress you will see that you are behaving as your own Storyteller, creating the interactive world in which you are playing.
