Description

エジプトウォール (Egypt Wall) is a game from Japan. Players are constructing Egyptian wall murals. Players can choose cards to add to their panel, or to improve the way their panel scores. Balancing the choices is a challenge.

The game has a set of score cards laid out in a column, and panel cards depicting various Egyptian characters laid alongside each score card. As players take panel cards, they place their own cubes on the scoring section of the score card.

When a player takes a new panel card, it is placed at either end of their display, or between existing cards. But players cannot shuffle the cards around as they like.

The panels depict various figures, some holding decorated items, some showing their eyes, some facing to the left or right. As the panel builds up, players want to optimise their scoring with the right panels in the right place.

Some scoring cards have limits that must be exceeded or restricted, such as more than 3 of one image, or fewer than 7. Some cards have very particular scoring, such as create a line of mummy, eye, eye, woman. The mix of figures on the panels and the mix of scoring needs creates a difficult choice for players.

The game is played over two rounds, and the player with the highest score at the end is the winner.

The second edition had some tweaks to the rules and the card contents to improve gameplay.
