From the introduction:
Hiroin is a journey inspired by the worlds created by Studio Ghibli, most notably the worlds created in the five movies NAUSICAÄ, PRINCESS MONONOKE, ARRIETTY, CASTLE IN THE SKY and PONYO.
Throughout the game, you will play through five chapters in which you will grow and learn more about yourself - something that is deeply ingrained in the philosophy of the work of Studio Ghibli. You will interact with a world of wonder and you will overcome challenges that will leave their mark.
...
This game uses the Element Dice System, which is build on the east-asian philosophy of the 5 powers or elements. The system is mainly built on ideas put forth in Taoist texts of Laozi and Zhuangzi, but has also influences from thoughts that predate these writers and from early Confucianism.
Hiroin, just as many lead characters of the Ghibli movies we love is female presenting - and the five chapters are the journey of our heroine to become a Guardian.
Hiroin is a Fan-Product and my love letter to Ghibli! But it is not a Ghibli game!
