絑々 (syusyu)

絑々 (syusyu) is a 2-player abstract strategy game from Japan (the theme is lipstick pieces).

At the start of the game, each player selects their six player pieces one by one. They have already received a card which restricts the placement of pieces, and so must select pieces from the pool to help their intended strategy. All pieces are visible to each player.

Then players take turns to place a piece on the grid board, such that the piece cannot be the same colour just payed, and they cannot break their own restriction card.

The player who cannot place a piece loses the game.

The game was launched at the Autumn 2021 Tokyo Game Market, with early reservations getting a special edition of pieces with little bows on them.
