Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the discriminating gamer. So, my sister bet me $15 that I couldn't build a car out of spaghetti. You should have seen the look on her face as I drove pasta. Today, we're taking a look at Star Trek Captain's Chair Second Contact. Now, this is by Whiz Kids, and this is an expansion to Star Trek Captain's Chair. Now, you can integrate this with the regular captain share or you can integrate this with tooly go or if you're really crazy, mix them all together. All right, but what this is going to do is this is going to add three new captains. It's going to have who is it? Riker, I think it's going to have Pike and it's also going to have uh oh, Carol Freeman. All right, are the three that's in this one. Um, so it sounds really cool, really interesting. I love Star Trek Captain's Chair. But what are all the cards and everything inside this box? I'll tell you what, let's go down to the table. Let's open this one up. Let's see what's on the inside.

All right, folks. Here we go. This is Star Trek Captain's Share Second Contact. This is an expansion to the game Star Trek Captain's Chair, which is a deck building game from uh David and Adam Turtzy and Nigel Buckle. Now, this is going to require either the original Captain Share or you can combine it with To Boldly Go, which is a standalone expansion that you can also integrate into Caption Share. So you can have this in the core game, this in the other game, or put them all together. Or you can buy two copies of this and you can put this with the core and the second copy in with the other, and then you got two separate games to play. You do what you want to do. Whiz Kids, got to mention that. Very nice. Now, looking on the back, what are we going to get? We're going to get about 99 cards. We're going to get ship six ship tokens. And it looks like we're going to be getting three different captains. William Riker, Carol Freeman, and Christopher Pike. and they like to put it on the side. So, we'll take a look at it right there. Make sure there's no glare. 60 to 120 minutes, ages 14 and up. You're looking at one to two players to play this game. All right, let's get it open. Let's see what's inside this guy.

Now, Star Trek Captain Sher. I love this game. This is such a fun, phenomenal game. Haven't played it in quite a while. Been wanting to get it played. I still don't own my own personal copy of this game. Um Cody has his copy. I need to borrow it sometime or I I just need to go pick up a copy of this game because I really do want to want to play this game again. I know I'm going to be playing these with Cody and I'm excited about that, but oh, I just I need to get my own copy of this game. All right, let's take a look at the inside and let's see what we have. Now, we're going to get second contact. Here's your common card list. I do like how they do this. You can see what all the different cards are and all their different abilities. All right, different rewards. Very cool. These are always really nice to have. Now, here's your expansion rule book. There's not a lot to this rule book. It fills pretty th Oh, wow. Here we go. It's actually that. Okay. So, I'm going to give you kind of a closeup.

We'll just kind of pan it off to the side. Take a look at that. Let's do a little flippy flip. Okay, there's all of your components. Okay, there's your crew decks and there's your front cover one more time. So, there you go. Love it. Now, looking in here, what are we going to get? See, man, those things just always fall out. But, uh, we're going to get We got Riker right there. Okay. Animated series Riker. What it looks like. Now, we know we got to take these little boards out here, but they work pretty good or they come out. I know they've come out in all the other ones. No problem whatsoever. Okay. Uh, the thing is is, man, these just never want to stay on. So, let's just take them off. All right. There you go. There's Pike.

All right. I like Pike. I don't know. Some people do, some people don't. I like Pike. And there's Freeman. Very nice. Oh, see. Oh, no. I thought that one was going to stay on. Fold me. Get that one out of there as well. All right. So, here's going to be our ship tokens. There's your front side. There's your back side. You can kind of see which ones they all are and because the writing on them is half the time upside down. You guys get the idea. All right. So, we're going to get some more stands. These are the same stands that are in the core game and expansion. Okay. We know what they look like. We don't need to pull them out. They're going to work just fine. And we're probably be able to put everything in here and it'll be good. Now, our cards look like they've fallen out of their little sleeves. So they're or they were kind of grouped together. Which ones actually fell out?

That one right there fell out. Okay. So I'm going to put a couple of these off to the side because I want to dig I want to grab that one right there. Okay. All right. And then we have all these separated out. Now the fun thing is I'm going to mix all these together. Cody's going to have to put them all back together. Fun stuff, right? I like doing that to him. Now, let's get this out here. So, we're going to have Pike. All right. The five-year mission updates. What do we got? There's his traits and everything else. There's the backside of his card. We got Freeman. All right. Combined. There's your two there. Make sure you guys can see all that. There's the backside of that one.

Try to get my glare out of there. All right. And then who we got? We got Riker. Get him back on your screen. Okay, there's your traits and everything. I hope that's focusing for you guys. I just got new contacts and everything's blurry to me. So, I have no idea if anything's in focus or not. Now, what do we have here? We're going to have Mirro. We got card of Mirro. Is this like a replacement card? They've done that before. Yeah, they they do. See, this needs to be the opposite direction. Okay, cuz it was that's what it looked like to me. This needs to be just like this. Let's put this back on. Okay, there you go. There's a corrections to the captain's chair core game Mirro. There's your Miro card. All right, now you know what it is. All right, so we'll get that swapped out. Now, here's the deck that kind of fell apart. Let's take a look at it. All right. And all So, I think all the cards all we'll look, but I think all the cards are going to be that type of card. All right. And let's just kind of take a look at all of our characters.

try to keep my my thumb out of the way so you guys can see everything. Sometimes I cover up the text because well, I like I like reading everything. All right. And you know what? We're just going to go ahead and do this. Oh, here we go. So, this is what we're going to we're going to get. Okay. Let's take a look at these cards. All right. We're going to have those two cards. Take a look at those. All right, those two couple locations. All right, put those down. And what? Here's our captains. All right, so here's going to be your three new captain cards.

All right, and there you go. Okay, let's just put those in there. Like I said, yeah, more than likely I'll probably end up put straightening all this out for him. All right, I messed it up. Okay, make sure I didn't skip a card right there. Oh. All right, our work on this looks just basically the same as all the others. Kind of a combination of stylists from what I can see, but I'm okay with that. All right, I'm probably not doing myself a favor by doing this, but oh well. It's the only way I can show all you guys everything. Ah, I got to go watch this animated series. I got to go finish it. All right.

Now, [clears throat] I think we're still Yeah, we're still on basically the same. I think the rest of the cards are going to be like I think they're I should be able to just shuffle them all in, right? I don't know. I'll figure it out. Okay, got our character. See, that's one of the things I think would have been cool is if they would have had an expansion that just added nothing but animated series. Okay, that would have been really cool. So, you have like this total animated or like a standalone expansion that was just all animated. That would have been neat because then you just get to play this all animated. But it's I like the integration of it as well. So, I always the integration of of the cartoon animation stuff with the regular stuff to me always looks good and it's kind of fun. Mixes things up.

All right. Okay. Couple more of these decks and that will be all we have. All right. What do we got? Yep. Still the same. All right. Titan. some locations.

All right, just a couple more cards here. Oh, yeah. More animated stuff. And then our last deck. [gasps] All right. And still the same. Very cool.

Couple more cards here. And there you go. Very nice. Okay. Like it. Now, that's all we're going to get. I'm just going to put this right here. It's going to help just kind of hold those cards in place just a little bit. Now, we're going to have all of our tokens. We're going to have all of our player boards. Let's just set all this right here for right now. And like I said, I don't know how this is going to integrate into other boxes. If you just want to put it in the other box and how it's going to work, but you can also just leave it in this box. And there you go. And that folks is the Star Trek Captain Chair Beyond Contact expansion for the core game. and two boldly go other uh standalone set by whiz kids. All right, let's head up top and close this out. All right, folks. There you go. That is Star Trek Captain's Chair Beyond Contact. Now, like I said, this is an expansion. It's going to either mix with Star Trek Captain's Chair or Star Trek to Boldley Go. All right, mix them however you want. All right, if you mix them in with one, take that out, mix them with the other, mix it all together. buy two copies of this, mix one with one, one with the other, and you totally keep them separate, and you have two really cool games. You do you.

Do what you want to do. I can't wait to get this one played. It looks really, really good, and I love this game. Well, thank you once again for joining us today.
