00 Allen welcome back to the ball games 4k YouTube channel and this is a channel where we give you reviews playthroughs unboxings and we generally talk Elida bollocks about type of soap going in in German in this video we're going to be telling you our top 10 fighting fantasy books of all time and this is our opinion we have read every single foil fantasy game but there is known to humanity so we think we know what we're talking about on this one but if you beg to differ with our list then please leave a comment in that section down below so what we'll be doing will be giving you a brief synopsis of the plot will be telling you what we do like and maybe won't be done like about a book there's not really a lot to not like in this list because it is our top 10 so remember if you knew it then please consider subscribing to this channel leave a comment in our section down below and we'll see you after this board games okay so number 10 on our top 10 fighting fantasy game books of all time is seas of blood and this is a book that the things written by Andrew Chapman years remember Andrew Chapman in 1985 was it first published in 1985 and this essentially is a book where you are

31 going to race a evil character called Abdullah butcher through D'Souza blood and what you're doing you can um you make a wager with Abdullah butcher and you'll be telling him that you think you can get to the city attack before he can and there's some really really nice and cameras in this one you've got the old swashbuckle in Krakens and West's or stuff in this one and then it also takes you on sea and on land and we really liked it so you'll be kicked some booty along the way and you've got your cruise strength and your crew stamina and all that sort stuff so you're gonna be having this sort of at naval battles and not naval battles but naval battles and we really like Caesar blood it was a really really strong entry after the debacle that was it wings of keva and that is our number Tennessee of blood so number nine on this list is we're not cheating it cuz it his statue two books but it comes under one so it was clash off the princess got the wall up Prince and the warrior prince one of you it's gonna be the warrior one ski of you is gonna be the wizard and you'll be pitting yourself against the other player to complete a series of tasks that will entitle you to the throne of dunder bed this uses a really novel mechanism where throughout but you'll be taught to write down a specific number and then when the other player reaches putting a book they'll have to check to see what number you've got and that will sort of link the two books together so all we said was this isn't the strongest written entry is one of the most novel entries and it's also got a wonderful artwork early from that classic photo fantasy art I see on glass so this is a we're really fond of this book and we're really glad it was Magnus just an absolute tragedy that they didn't

01 capitalize on the success of this book and release any more to perform fantasy game books box gastic if you watch it maybe you should uh you know I'm a number eight on this list is a book by Steve Jackson it's starship traveler and I can hear you everyone screaming I know are a starship traveler but yes we love this book you hate it I know you hate it I love it most it's quite hard to complete and a lot of people say there is only one password but it's just sort of like most fantasy books way but this is the atmosphere created in this one is second to none and we love the fact that you can take your whole crew out into space and a lot people say well he's not using that often Padma probably not the quote we love a starship traveller he's got some fantastic characters like the IAP I always got those kids that are in control over the adults and all that sort stuff and you basically will you be done you've been flung into the cell scene void and you'll be trying to find your way home trying to find a coordinates to get back to earth and a lot of people time like this book it's got some dodgy all work and I mean it's got some you're like wait but the we said the atmosphere creative boss Tasha travel huh and it was the first foray for fire fantasy into the intergalactic realms so to speak and we do like starship traveler you might hire we like it but if if you want to argue me then leave a comment in our section down below fight beside number number seven on this list

32 is Steve Jackson's probably to say masterpiece it's just magnum opus in its crown of Kings this was released in 1985 we waited years for this to come out when I was a kid and it didn't disappoint whilst it's not the strongest entry and it's bloody art right so that that's what brings the book down slightly but for sheer ambition and sheer depth then there is huge it's got 800 I hate hundred entries and I don't know there's been books subsequently ten books which have sort of taken the the number of paragraphs and gone crazy with it but this was unsurpassed in 1985 when it was released it's got some absolutely fantastic encounter something mucolytics call the jib jib and what I saw staff and it's got a fantastic and encounter with the Archmage himself and really I like we said this isn't the strongest entry in Steve Jackson's Arsenal but it is one of the most ambitious and it had to be honest this ice crown of Kings what so number six on this list is a book a later book is probably one of the only letter books on this list is howl of the werewolf by Jonathan green and this is a excellent read and it's on this list mainly because of the way it was written it's the the it really does evoke that's off gothic feel and the way that you turn into a werewolf and you can use the sort of werewolf abilities in this book is fantastic don't know why they didn't

03 reprint this one in the scholastic series but it is definitely one of the strongest entries in the entire C series and it I credit this book for keeping the fighting fantasy series alive right so if Jonathan green hadn't released this one I think the Final Fantasy probably wouldn't have had all the reprints that it has got so that's how loved the werewolf it is one of the best gaming books you can get aside from fun fantasy right so there he goes our number six so number five on this list is actually number six in series it's death trap dungeon this is what a lot of people class as in Livingston's masterpiece and the worst we don't agree with that it's still absolutely fantastic wait and the twist at the end where you have to spoiler alert where you have to kill from in order to progress to the final beasties that's that's that's the thing that really does capture a heart tension with deaf giant dungeon and it was so novel and I'm really thinking in Livingston managed to recapture the formulas one what do you think I don't know so the attic they go as deathtrap dungeon so number four on this list is another in livingston offering its city of hand in this book the town of Silverton is under attack from the Moondogs being sent by this evil creatures and barbone and it's your job as the hero to go into port blacks and find the Kadima s-- the wizard who will tell you how to kill sandbar time but nicodemus been hell cry me out softer yes doesn't wanna get involved so he sends you off on a wild goose chase trying to find all these ingredients that will you can put together to kill

34 zone bar and this game book it's absolutely fantastic this and really good puzzles in it you've got the baseball game you can play you got the game that you could play no fee no fee in the black lobster in it's chock-full of wonderful encounters wonderful monsters surprises and it takes that urban exploration to another level anaise city face so a number three honest list is a book by steve jackson and it's appointment with fear this is one of our favorite gun books of all time it takes the fight of fantasy going books into a new environment a new genre and it it's basically like a superhero book and superheroes have sort over the years and they're you know they've dumped all the the more we call it like were for this sort of leather bondage gear but this takes you back well it's 1985 on but this borrows from the sort of campy kitsch batman of the nineteen sixties TV show and thrusts into titan city where you can meet all manner of weird and wonderful characters from the mobile steve jackson you've got the scarlet prankster in this book daddy riches in there and you've got the radiation dogs in there run in terror around city and you've got the evil sinister Sidney Knox who is the bloke with the big head yeah upon will affair that so far as superhero books go this is fantastic nothing else came in this one they didn't like a second edition or didn't like a second superhero game book for us but yes there's Steve Jackson one of his best books of all time a support no fear it's a number two on this list is another Steve Jackson book it's car

05 eight seaboard traps one of our favorite game books of all time in this one it's the second part of the sorcery epic four-part series where you'll be you've got the option of using the character that you have in Asscher matanza hill so it's just part one and you can take it forward into car asleep or traps and you'll be looking for the key to the north gate that will allow you to get out so because it's look by spell right so you'll be down around it like say feast or you'll be going around car oh you're trying to find the numbers of the spells and less or stuff but the thing that makes this special is that you can use spells in this so you've got a look at a spell book at the back of the book you've got a spell book at the back of the book with all these spells and you've got to try and memorize all of the three-letter words that correspond to the spells here and there's some wonderful characters in this you've got the Mantis man you've got the red eyes you've got the temples that you've got to negotiate and all in all this is a wonderful book and obviously you've got the fantastic wonderful atmosphere Carver by John Blanche this could be played on its own it's good enough on his own but when you play it as part of these sorcerer epic it really does come alive and Steve Jackson thanks very much for this book you have created it an absolute masterpiece cheers mate so number one on this list our favorite fighter see own book of all time it is house of hell and this is the first book that I ever bought in a little tiny toy shop down in a road called Christopher's it was on the is on a shelf there was a load of other game books on on offer off of a selfie this was 1984 when I bought this so there's a lot of other books on

35 offer but this one stood out and we've gotta go I remember reading it thinking my gosh what on earth is this and I was hooked so my parents didn't agree with me reading this because they are actually like very very religious people and when they saw me reading stuff with pictures like that on it and demonic sacrifices and rooms are named after the occult they weren't too happy about it but you know being being liberal so they asked they let me read it and yeah I devoured all the fighting fantasy game books under Sun for this and I'm still reading today I'm still playing the vocal and game and house of hell is our favorite game book of all time so yeah just so if you're interested in five favorite game books then tell us in the comments which are your favorite which ones have we left out why or why is it that we we seem to be drawn to the only ones is it because that's Eliza Kratz our imagination when we have children or what so remember if you'll know we're please consider subscribing to the channel leave a comment in our section down below and go back and watch our playlist of I think this is the 19th part of our playlist of 14 facts you go books to go back and watch all those four more for your fantasy nonsense and we'll see you next time
