Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the discriminating gamer. So, what do you call a magic dog? A labracadabrador. Today, we're taking a look at Jump Masters. Now, this is from Neon Knight Games. Now, this is the the retail version. I know there's also a deluxe version, okay, but this is the retail version, okay? Um and this is basically a take on Chinese Checkers, okay? Sounds kind of really interesting. Not really sure how it plays. So, I'll tell you what, let's go down to the table. Let's open this one up. See what's on the inside.
All right, folks, here we go. This is Jump Masters. Now, this is a game by Manny Trembley and Jeff Jacobson and published by Neon Knight Games. And there we go. The age we're looking at 14 up, two to four players, looking at 20-30 minutes to play. It's a fast little game. But, the back of the box really doesn't show me too much. I had to read about the whole Chinese Checkers thing. But, I'm really curious, okay? So, let's see what we have. Now, like I said, this is the the retail version of the game, and I know there is a deluxe version of this game as well, okay? So, we'll probably see about showing you both of them, all right? So, that way you get an idea of what you're going to get in each one of them. But, let's get this one opened up, okay? Now, I will say I do I do like this artwork on here. I like I like these creatures and everything else. Very cool looking.
Okay, so if we get this little box opened up, nice little coloring on the inside. Now, what are we going to get? We got our rules of play booklet. All right, let's take a look at it. So, here's our setup. We're going to have our game board, okay? Looks like we're going to have some different ways to sit that we might be setting that up. All right, some key concepts of the game. Got your hill, got your hero actions. Your jump, okay? So, Chinese Checkers, you're jumping different things, okay? Taking trying to take out of the people's pieces, okay? End of game, now you got some additional rules, all right? alternate draft rules, you got your free-for-all. All right, special ability clarifications. And your back credits. And there you go, and that's it. Okay. So, we'll get that out of here. Now, what else we're going to have Whoop, don't need that. We're going to have our little Looks like player pieces, little cardboard punch-outs.
All right. Oh, and it looks like we have the They actually punch pretty good, but it looks like there's some protective coating on the backside here, so we should be good to go. But they did want to pop back out. Those are just holding them in place. Okay. But very nice. Now, our board Looks like we're going to have a little four-panel fold-out board. Okay, let's open this up and we'll look at the back. So, we've got a little Jump Masters on the back. Okay, get your board right out here in the middle. Very nice. All right. Now, we'll just go and leave that there for now, no reason, but let's take a look at what else we have in here. So, we're going to have stack of cards that looks like the paper came off of them. I'm trying to get these out of here. Okay, so our cards, what we're going to get is we're going to get a turn overview card. All right. There's your front and there's your back showing all your special abilities and whatnot.
Now, we're going to get our little characters. Okay, so we've got our bunny there and we got a second version of our little bunny. I don't know why we have two different versions of the character. Okay. But same as him. But it looks like we have a different dice for each one of them, too. So, I don't know. Okay. This is I'm just going to have to read the rules and figure it out. I just Well, I haven't read the rules yet. Okay, I'm just kind of looking at this game the first time that you guys are, but there you go. That's the characters we're going to have and they all just have a nice little special ability on them. Okay, so we'll put those off to the side. Now, we also have this right here. Is this like a little score track board? All right, take a look at that. Nice little cardboard fold-out. There you go, little Jump Masters on the back. Very nice. Okay.
Put that back in there. Whoop. These cards are like really slippery. All right, put those back in there. Now, we're also going to have all of our dice. So, let's take a look at our dice. Now, these are all like silk screened, okay? There you go. Let's take a look at all those very nice, very good quality dice. There's some good weight to them. You can definitely tell, but very nice. I do like them. And they'll [snorts] all just going to fit right in here. And the nice thing is they're not too much taller than that one top piece right there. So, once you can finally get them all into place, you put your player board in here, these dice aren't going anywhere. They're going to stay right there. You don't got to put them back in your little bag. But, you just have to do that. And there you go. All the dice are in, snug as a bug. We'll just take this little bag and we're just going to stuff it right here for right now. But, that's it. Our little tokens, once we punch them, they're going to go here. Easy peasy, not a problem. So, let's get this game put away. So, if we take this and we just stick it right there like that. We're going to take our board for now. We'll get those punched and we'll get them down in below.
But, we're going to get that right there, okay? And let's get that cover on. And there you go, folks. And that is Jump Masters. Now, like I said, this is the retail edition of the game. There's also a deluxe version as well with upgraded components, the whole nine yards. But, if you get the retail, that's what you're going to get. Okay, let's head up top. Let's close this out. All right, folks. There you go. That is the retail edition of Jump Masters. And you know what? This is a nice little small box, um, little quick little game. I think it looks actually fantastic. The deluxe version, I mean, it's got to be amazing if it's, you know, if they're going to upgrade from this. I think the components are just great in what this is right here, okay? But, you'll have to go check out our unboxing video of the deluxe version and that way you can see which one that you would want to buy based on that, okay? But, I think this looks fantastic.
