Edo's Burglar's Blitz Review (KS Preview)

0:04 hey everybody Edo here and this is burglar Blitz uh it is live on Kickstarter it came in this little uh card box I'm sure it'll have more of a a full box with the actual release this is just a prototype but burglar Blitz is a very uh straightforward and thematic push your luck game you are criminals and you are trying to steal things like jewelry or cash very uh or shoes or or or or whatever watches uh and it's very the cards have cool graphic design elements the visual style is very bold um and basically uh you are going to have police car out on the table there's a vault you're going to put six cards 2 four six underneath and then um players uh it's it's sort of got like a a rmy feel but where you have the stack of card a card out and as a player you have the option to take uh the card in the in the in the discard pile as uh into your into your uh criminal Heist into your bag or you can draw a card from the top uh and place it in lastly you can use an action such as in this case steal from a player what you're actually trying to do is have five pieces of loot in front of you and the moment you do you get away you like instantly run to it and you're going to score all your points um it's a pushy luck game because there is a uh police buzzer in here somewhere and when it gets revealed you Shuffle in the police and if the police come out before you've

1:34 gotten all your loot all five cards you uh you're at you're bust um and so basically you're trying to get the best loot possible um as you go so like again you could also draw a card and and say I don't want it and discard it so you're sort of like trying not to get to five cards before you get to the end there's some special cards in here like a a guard dog that makes you miss a turn uh you can I had that bag to steal from another player uh there's a getaway vehicle that eats up a spot in your in your five but you can't you can't get uh stopped by the police uh so it's just that kind of thing there's a key in here and when you get the key you get the stuff underneath the Vault that kind of thing it's clean it's simple it works I would say this is for kids uh or kids in family the push your luck element feels a little bit underwhelming in that it only happens once the police car gets added and by that point the game could be sort of far along and there can often times be a situation where like some people are out of the game and there's just one player sort of flipping over cards figuring how how far they want to push their look um I think it just could use some additional pressure and decision making for it to be really good uh but it works and it's easy to teach and play with a bunch of people so like in that context I think it's it's fun but it's it's it's light fun um and I think most players who play a lot of Pusher luck games or things with more more teeth to them or more crunch will sort of bounce off of this one um the only other comment I'll make is and I like the graphic design

3:06 elements and all that that sort of look to it but the action cards tend to have specific rules like the guard dog and it's like not so fast but like you wouldn't know how to you play it and there's a the rule book has a really clean explanation of how it works but it would be nice if there was some icons or something on the card so you weren't constantly referring to a rule book uh doesn't overstay it's welcome it's straightforward it's a single you know I assume this is going to be reasonably prized on the kickstarter um so I think I I think it's a a perfectly entertaining family game uh so this is burglar Blitz and it's live on Kickstarter thanks bye hey everybody Edo here and thanks for watching gaming with Edo reviews over here on this playist league and Insider videos over here on this one subscribe share all that good stuff but most importantly play some great games thanks bye
