This is Shoal. This is a game about grouping fish into shoals. You're going to start the game by drawing one of these shoal goals. These goals are how you are going to score points. This could be largest group of connected fish of a particular type. This could be largest amount of empty spaces, something like that. These are all different and there are three goals per card. In Shoal, there are four core rules and luckily those rules are also written on the side of the box. Fish must be placed swimming to the left and not upside down. You must lay your cards on top of another card. No tucking. When you lay a card, fish must be placed orthogonally and not diagonally. Fish can cover empty spaces and other fish, but empty spaces must cover empty spaces. You'll start by playing a card down in front of you and then you'll be drawing up another card.

And when it's next time it's your turn, you'll play another card in front of you like so and then you'll draw up. You can either draw up from the draw pile or the face-up discard pile. Once everyone has played their 10th card down into the Shoal, the game is over and then you'll add up all of your points dependent on your Shoal goal card and then whoever's got the highest points will win. Shoal is a fun, quick, puzzly game for two to four players and one that I really really recommend you check out.
