Jackpot: Set the Reel - Tutorial & Playthrough

Gaming Rules! Aug 23, 2025
Transcript 56:41

And we are live. Good afternoon everybody. Thank you very much for joining us for a very special fiveplayer playthrough. It's not really, it's only four. Mark's here is teaching. We're going to be doing a tutorial and playthrough of Jackpot Set the Reel from Drame which is on Kickstarter right now. There should be a link to it in the description of this video. Hopefully you can hear me and you can see me. Okay. And the microphones are actually working this time. So, let's have some introductions. First of all, Casino Meister Mark Monk from Ninja Geek Games is going to be teaching today.

Teaching you all the game.

Yeah. Uh Stuart.

Hello,

Mark. Another Mark. And Rob is going to be playing. And I don't know anything about this. Well, I do. I know that this is called Jackpot Set the Real.

Good start.

It's published by Dr. Games. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

Yes. Yeah.

It's a competitive game. Yes.

And it's got a casino theme.

Yep.

There you go.

That's it.

That's it. That's And apparently it's good. So,

but this is a sponsored video. Dr. Games have sponsored me to create this video. So, you're not going to get any opinions from me in this actual video. Our job here is to show you how the game plays, help you make a decision about whether it's the kind of game that you might like. All I'm saying is that I've heard from lots of people that it is good, but I've not played it myself yet. So, uh, AV is good. Everybody else is really low. That's just because I talk really loud, I think.

Yeah, it's the same microphones for all of us, except that one is a bit closer to me. I'll just talk quieter. Right then, so over to you, Mark. Okay. So, this is a game that involves deck uh building, hand management. Uh, you'll all start with 10 cards in your hand. Uh each player has a slightly different set of cards than the next and they'll incorporate fruits, bells, and gray dud cards.

And there's an icon in the bottom left showing your star.

That's me. I'm I'm the purple one looking right. Okay.

And the aim of the game is to score the most victory points. And you'll get

stars.

Yes. And you'll get victory points by claiming object uh objective cards. On the back of them, your card will see other victory points in the top.

Oh, that's on the back of the card. So, if you own that card at the end of the game, you'll get victory points. And if you collect any of the stars, you'll get victory points.

So, if I if I manage to flip that card over by the end of the game, it's worth two points.

That's right.

Okay.

Um, the game ends when a player scored 35 victory points. Carry out the rest of the round and then you'll add up all your victory points. So, even though you've got 35, doesn't mean you're going to win. That's just the end game. Okay. Scoring.

Um, so it's broken down into a number of phases. The first thing you do at the very start of the game is shuffle your hand of cards, making sure that they're all facing

Yes. that way.

And that's the last time you'll shuffle your cards. They'll stay the same way for the whole game. This is where the manipulation comes in.

Yes.

Oh no. What if you're one of those people that is constantly shuffling cards?

Oh dear. Well, then don't play this game.

I don't.

That's where I get the handcuffs out.

Yeah.

Right. Okay. Done. Shuffled.

Good. Uh, the first player will be the player who last gambled or went to a casino.

I mean, it was a long long time ago when I went

four years ago.

There you go.

Okay.

This is the act. This isn't like a prototype thing.

I don't know. Yeah, this it's not in the um I didn't see it in the rule. I assumed it was the first

I thought I saw this on the Kickstarter pages. This is what is the first player. Dr. Games are in the chat. You can confirm

if this is indeed

and it does work.

And it does work. What'd you get? Anything decent?

No.

Okay. There's no money in it.

Okay, there you go.

First player marker.

First player marker. So, on your turn, you'll play three cards. You'll carry out a few more actions and it'll go around until everybody's played uh nine cards and you have a remaining card in your hand.

Kickstarter exclusive. So, if you back it on Kickstarter, you get this. If you buy it later, you won't get this. Right. There you go.

And at the end of the round, you'll all have one card left, and you'll pass that to the person on your right.

Um,

so Rob's going to play three cards.

Yep. So, he's going to play three cards. Then Mark will play three. Stuart will play three. I'll play three.

You keep doing that.

And we do that three times.

And that's one round.

That's one round. Yep.

Okay. And then we Is there a fixed number of rounds or just

Nobody gets to 35. Yeah.

So you have to keep count of your victory points at all times.

Okay.

Uh on your turn, you will play three cards. You can choose any three cards as long as they're consecutive or adjacent, but you must play them from left to right.

So if you put your card,

if you wanted to play three cards, you could play those three. those three or those three play that one, that one, and that one.

And if I chose those three,

they have to be played.

You have to play them in that order.

In that order,

right? Okay.

If you play when once you've played your cards, you then read them from left to right. If you uh have two of a kind, so your left card and your middle card are the same symbol. You get one of these tokens. I'll explain what those do after once you've explained.

So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to play one card, two card, and three card. Is that right? So, I do that. You've got one. So, you read from left to right.

Yeah.

You've got one. You get one coin for that. You would take a coin and put it into your play area.

Okay.

If you had played that, so you have two symbols.

Okay. So, it's not the symbol, it's the symbol and the color

and the color. Yeah. That's the grays are dirt.

Oh, okay.

You would get any one of these.

So, one of them on its own is a coin. Yep.

Two of them is one of those

of these. And there's a limited number, but if if these run out, you can steal them from other players.

Okay.

Okay.

And if you play

if I get three,

if you turn that one over,

make the noise. Ding ding ding ding ding ding. You get to take

an objective card.

Right. The top one. And do these get

the decrease in value. I think it goes 5 4 3 2 or 5 4 32.

That's a big one.

That stays the same the whole time because they are very difficult to get.

Okay. Um, when you do get to the bottom of these, that stays fixed. If you do get that, you get two victory points and a token.

Right.

Okay. But you don't take the card.

Okay. And then on the next round, you

we put cards over the top of these.

And you just want to show the top inch of the card.

Right.

Okay. Now, uh, before that happens, at the end of your turn, once you have your money in your area, you can buy a card from the market. These are the costs down here.

Mhm. Once you can put it anywhere in your deck, but you must replace an adjacent card.

Anywhere in your hand.

Anywhere in your hand. Sorry. Yes.

You replace

You replace a So it replaces a card.

It replaces a card.

Yeah. You have to slot it in. So you swap you switch them out.

Slot it in.

Slot it in. There you go. That's the fun. So if you removed that card,

that card that would go out of the game

and that one there would have to go into that position.

That position. Yep.

Yep.

Uh with your money, you can instead if you put your cards flat, you can upgrade a card. There's the cost of the upgrade and the

Let's show that on the on the big screen.

So on the side of these cards, there is an upgrade cost.

Yep. And it shows you what's on the back of the card as well.

So if I spend two money, I upgrade this card and that's telling me what's on the back.

It's a cherry

with a victory point.

With a victory point,

is it? It is.

It is.

Okay. So that's the cost to upgrade the cards. Y right. Okay. And you can just you do that on your turn after playing your three cards.

Yes. After playing the cards is when you spend your money,

right? Okay. Okay. Um, once you've played, everyone's played three rounds, you'll end up with a stack of 3x3 cards.

Be one card left.

One card left. That card goes to the right.

You pass the card along. Yeah.

If you stack your cards, I'll show you what happens.

Now, imagine that was the card you received. You choose to place it at the bottom of any stack.

So, I get a card from Rob.

Yeah.

Which is this one. I place this at the bottom of any stack

and then you choose one of the stacks and you gain that income. So you would gain three coins there or two coins there. You would choose. You'd probably choose that.

Okay.

You get coins. You then stack your cards how you want by squishing them together and then stacking the piles in any order you choose.

Got to keep.

You can't change the order.

Okay.

Right.

So this is how you try and get your your matching symbols.

I see. Okay. That's quite interesting. I don't think I've seen that mechanism in a game before.

So you would have your three sets of cards. Put this side so everyone can see. Yeah. Three. That's it. And then put one more down because you'd have 10. And then you would do this and you choose

where where they go.

Yeah. So you want to see where the cards can be burn.

Each stack cannot be changed, but you can change the order of the stacks.

Yes, you did.

Okay. Yeah. And if you play a dud card as your first left card,

you get nothing. No matter what the other cards played.

Oh,

yeah. So, those are the cards you want to get rid of unless you can

Oh, so if a dud card is on the left

in the left, nothing. It's just you get

you still get the final income when you do the the color.

Yes. Yes. But this is for the um during your play turn.

Okay.

Um now for these, you play these at the start of your turn. That will give you three money.

This will give you three victory points. So, you'll have this at the end of the game if you own it at the end of the game. That gives you three victory points.

It's not three points when you play it. It's three points at the end of the game if you have it. If you own it,

whereas this is you can trade that in for three coins

and you trade it in by putting it back.

Yes.

Right. Okay.

Uh this one is you can take a card from your hand and put it into another position.

Okay.

So that's the manipulation.

There's a star on it as well.

I think that might be worth a victory point if you own that at the end of the game.

Okay. and

Dr. Games will tell us if we get any rules wrong.

This one here means you can upgrade a card for a cost

two

of two uh two less.

Oh, okay.

So, that's like a a little saving there cuz these here cost four to upgrade where the ones in your hand cost two,

right? Got it.

So, that just gives you a bit of saving

and two points at the end points if you're wearing that. And this one here gives you a multiplier by two for everything. So, you can you can um upgrade for a cost of four less.

Okay. Um you get six victory points at end of the game, six money or um which two cards.

Yeah, Ronda have confirmed the stars on these is end of the game points if you have these tokens.

But that and that won't multiply that.

Okay.

Okay. It's still one victory point.

Okay.

Um that is it I think.

Right. I mean we'll give it a go. We'll start off and if we have any questions as we're

as we're going through.

So have all your cards been shuffled? Yes.

Are your icons facing you?

Yes.

Yeah. And then so it's over to you to play three cards consecutively from left to right.

Yep. So it's going to be these three

gives me nothing.

Nothing.

The left one's a dud.

Yep.

And that's it.

That's it.

Rob doesn't have any or any cards.

First player gets one coin. Second player gets two. Third player gets three. And Paul, you get a choice of a token. Um, I'll just have them anymore. Okay. Just make sure everybody that things are on camera.

Okay.

We can't see your

When can you upgrade a card?

Uh, on your turn. End of your turn.

At the end of your turn.

End of your turn.

Is that was that about the upgrades?

Yes. Yeah. You play the tokens at the start of your turn and you upgrade or buy from the market at the end of your turn.

Uh, the left is a dud because it's a grayed out card. Anything that's grayed out is a dud and it's not worth anything. And if you play that on the left, then it means the whole row is nothing.

Yeah.

Okay.

So, you need to play a lot. Yeah.

Which is just one coin.

One coin for that. And then two duds.

Yeah.

And now you can spend the money to upgrade a card in hand or buy one from the market.

But these cost four. Well, that cost seven. So, okay. Um, so I will spend two to upgrade a card for my hand. So you just turn it over.

You flip it over.

And you'll notice that some of the cards there's a W on the back. It's a Y.

Oh, right. Okay.

Any symbol,

right?

Sure.

Over to you.

Okay. So

So what's that worth? one coin

cuz it's one one set of

Oh, cuz it's just that that starts the set and the others don't match. Therefore, it's just one coin for that.

Uh, one coin.

That's Mark.

Oh, sorry.

No, if you put your money maybe here.

Bank.

And then you can upgrade or buy from the market.

Okay. So, can upgrade those or just ones from

ones from your hand?

Okay. So, I can spend four to buy this one from the market.

Yeah. So, that goes into your hand. Placing an existing card might

just go off.

Rough. So, reminder, this is a start of turn.

Yep. Start of turn. You can trade that in for three coins and then you spend them at your turn.

Yeah. Okay. Right. I should have been thinking, shouldn't I? Um, well, I haven't got two things the same next to each other. But, as you say, by choosing three cards to remove.

Yeah, you can.

And then influencing

Oh gosh. the order of other things. But at the start of the game, it's quite tricky to actually

Yeah. You end up with a lot of duds in your hand.

Yeah. Cuz I can't get rid of those.

Unless you keep it at the end of the round and give it to someone else.

Yeah. Okay. I'm just going to go with these three cards here. So, I play that one, play that one, and play that one.

You take a coin.

So, I get a coin for that. Uh, and you don't have enough to upgrade.

Yeah, because I chose not to cash that in. Okay, that's me done. That's it. And you can be planning ahead, can't you?

Yeah. Yeah. Because it doesn't matter what anyone else does.

That's a set of one, which gets me one coin.

Yep.

And then you have enough to upgrade. You have too many. Yes. You could upgrade one of your cards.

I'll pay two to upgrade this one.

Okay. Okay, let's play for this this. Oh. Oh, good. So, you get a blue token. You can't take from Paul because this

because there is still some left. That's why I kept it.

So, that one's end game point.

That's just end of game points.

That one was flipp discount of two.

Discount of two.

Discount of two to upgrade.

What was that one again?

Uh, you can move a card in your hand to another position.

Okay.

Um, and then the double one. Uh, if you have two tokens, it multiplies the other. You have that one and another one. It multiplies the ability.

Uh, can I have the one that upgrades a discount? That's that one. Yep.

And you don't get any money then if you're

No, you just get token. Yeah.

But then I could use this now.

Started next turn.

Start.

These these are starter turn effects, aren't they?

Gotcha. Gotcha.

Sure.

Okay.

This is exciting. Watch it.

One.

Oh, he's got one as well. Ding ding ding. I'll take the sort of card route.

Okay.

We've got no money to spend either.

No.

Right. So, uh I had a plan. I think I had a plan. Yes, I did have a plan. So, I'm going to play those three. I'm going to put that there, that there, and that there. So, that gets me one money.

One coin. Yeah.

And Oh, so that's interesting because I've got dud dud and that which means I've ether got to play that or that which is going to be nothing.

Or you can upgrade.

Or I can upgrade. That's Yeah, I wanted a coin. Not going to get a coin, am I? Um,

upgrade multiple cards.

Yes, you can do whatever you

I'm not going to upgrade. I've got a I've got a plan.

Never never having played before, but we'll see. We'll see what happens.

So, this is going into the last round now.

Okay.

Or the last turn.

Okay. So, you get a coin.

A coin.

That's it. No upgrade.

You're one coin. But you're good.

So, this what that's what we're going towards.

I would like to use this.

Yeah. So, you can upgrade

upgrade for two discount.

Yeah.

The points above the cards is

end game.

End of game. Yeah. If if if those cards are that way up at the end of the game, you get the points.

Yes. As things stand right now, we've both got one victory point cuz we both got

you've upgraded a card that's got a point.

Another two taken.

Oh, cuz you play two bells.

Would you like

So, this one isn't actually worth anything at the moment.

I don't believe so. End of the game.

Yeah, I'll take that.

Okay.

I'm going to cash in my move a card around.

I know. I've got that. I've got a plan. Just swap that one.

That's what I could have done with.

Okay. So, that's a dud.

Yeah. And nothing happens.

And I'm in a similar position. I'm going to play that one, that one, and that one. Left one is a dud, but nothing happens.

Okay. So, you pass your card to the right.

So, pass the remaining card to the right.

And then you have to put it at the bottom of one of your stacks.

Yeah. So, I put it there. And then

you'll get stars income as well.

No, no, they're not.

Then you'll get uh

So these are my stacks. I'm picking this one. They're getting one, two, three. That's it.

And I now choose that stack and I get four money.

But I can't buy upgrade cards.

And then that goes there. That goes there. That goes there. And now

now you can decide how you stack these.

Well, that's totally going there.

Yeah, that's going there. And that's going there, I think.

Was that your plan? No.

No. My plan was to get to seven money and buy that. That That was the plan.

Moves to the left.

Move to the left. Yeah. So, Mark, you are the start player.

Right. Off we go.

Is asking, do we get anything from making a vertical set? No. No. Apart from the coins at the end.

Coins. Yeah.

Which is thematic. If you've got two of a kind, but they're on either side.

No, they have to be I think they have to be left uh the left, the middle.

That is the answer I expected. Not the one.

Okay.

Oh, wait. I can upgrade.

Yes.

You going to upgrade for two?

Yeah.

Or sorry, upgrade for a discount of two.

Actually, I could take another

just asked to run the games. That is for end game, isn't it? That one.

I think they said that.

Yeah.

Yeah. Just just just confirming Dr. Games. This is three points at the end of the game. Cuz if it was three points when you cash it in,

that would be that would be too good.

Is that only upgrade? You can't buy it.

Uh, it's got it's got the flippy icon on

and play these two. Thing is, I keep doing this, but actually sometimes the money is better. Flip this one. I will play these three means I get one money.

So you can buy from the market or upgrade to market. So thinking

yes I will buy this card. Yep. Okay. So, you buy that

and I replace

something in your hand.

It's got to go into the same position.

Yeah.

So, that is gone.

Gone from the game.

You see that card's slightly different than the one that you took.

Oh, right. Okay.

They're not They're not all exactly the same.

No.

Okay.

Right. Start.

Okay. I will One coin. You get a coin.

One coin. And then upgrade.

Loads of money. That was money. Just pull. This one for two.

And that's it.

Okay. So, I'm going to play those three. Like that. Which gets me one of these. Yes. So, I'll take that one. And I meant to cash that in at the start of my turn cuz I'm then going to spend seven to buy that. I'll allow it. Okay. And that is going to go there. Oh, no. Hang on. No, it's going to go there. Okay. Okay. Okay. One, two, three. One coin.

Two coins to up to flip this card. And two coins flip this card. Lots of upgrading.

Okay. And I only got two left. So that will be it. Ding ding ding ding ding. Play

three.

Three bells. So what'd you get for a set of three? He gets one of these. Oh, that was it. Yeah. So there you go. And that's just points at the end of the game.

Yep. And if you notice now, the next one only

is only worth four, right? Spam your hand.

Got it. You keep doing it. Just diminishing returns.

Got it.

Did I not spend my money last turn? I doubt I'd have had that much. I just didn't spend that.

Okay.

I'm going to keep an eye on him.

Yeah, I will now.

Tally's money. Yeah.

There you go.

Ding, ding, ding. Thank you.

Okay. And any upgrading?

No. Uh oh, actually.

Or you can buy.

Mhm.

Yeah. Yeah. Let's buy.

I can get another zombie.

Yeah, you can get as many as you want. They just reduce value.

Yeah. This one up.

Okay. So, I'm going to use that swap around. Yeah, those two cards. And then I'm going to play bell bell dudes. But I get a coin for that. No, I don't get a coin. I get one of these. I get a 10.

Yeah.

Okay. Okay. Right. Grapes. Grapes. Grapes.

Grapes. Grapes. Grapes.

Grapes. Grapes. Grapes. Grapes.

Okay. So, it didn't take long before we started getting these.

Yeah. anyhow cuz that's a wild and I will and it's worth two stars. Very nice. I will simply play

one coin.

One coin. Oh, mate. Uh go for one coin.

One coin,

right? I am going to trade that in for three coins and then I'm going to play seven seven

three then

but I'm going to take that back.

Yeah. Okay.

Sherry to So I'll take the free upgrade.

Thank you. Are you upgrading? You have to

No, cuz got this now. Is this

Oh, yeah. Upgrade it.

Okay. So, this card goes to the right.

To the right. Add it to one of your stacks and then claim your income on one of the stacks.

Uh, these stacks are in the wrong order now.

Oh, that's clever. Because what it's done is it's split them up.

Mhm. Game designers.

You got three duds next to game designers. Oh. put it on there and I'll get three money.

Oh yeah, six. And then I'm going to put that

on that. Apologies. That one there. I didn't take my

Okay.

Sorry. I think I've So that was like wish that was like that.

Yeah. I need to add that to a stack before you

Yeah. And I get my income because I didn't spend that too because I had it in hand but it was it was an upgrade. So,

and I pop this one down which is going to go into a new comfort. Okay.

Off you go. It's not a good idea to have a platform.

And let's buy some more. Buy a cherry for four. Terry for four.

Four. You look at that card. Seven. to seven points on the side. I know I've got one bit. Yeah.

Go there and that one will come.

Right. You can go again if you want to.

Uh no, I'll wait. So, how am I going to get these together is by buying something and slotting it in. So, I am going to trade that in for three money. I then have to play. So, Oh, no. This is fine. Got a lot of dead stuff.

This is fine because I get rid of those three like that which gets me another coin

with the money resources limited.

All right, I'm about to spend them.

And then I'm going to spend seven money.

He's getting another seven

to buy another one of those which is going to go

know where this is going. Wow.

He's just gonna have two really good, isn't he? Okay. You spending any more money?

No. No.

If you notice, the cost of these to upgrade is slightly more expensive.

Yes, they cost four to buy and they're four to upgrade. Cherry, cherries. And so that'll give me double cherry three coins, please. Thank you. I'm not doing anything.

Watermelon bell blackberry one coin

and then I can buy a card. So I'll have a cherry please in exchange for a lovely bell. That's it. Do you spend the money?

Mark doesn't spend money when he upgrades.

I've got a note from my

second one.

Yeah, let's see that upgrade.

There's another four there still two.

And here comes the power turn for

seven. Well,

there you go.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. I've broken the machine. Security have been cool. It's

worth seven.

It is.

They saw you earlier just behind the machine fiddling with it.

And then follows people.

Another seven.

I'm going to spend four

to buy that.

Putting it in there and getting rid of that.

Right. I'll cash in both of those. So, that's three coins and free upgrade. Okay, that be that and that and that which is a coin.

Mhm.

I'll spend seven coins to buy a seven.

He's musling in your market.

Burn that one.

I don't think these ones decreasing value either.

Do they not?

Okay.

Super duper ones.

Okay. Cherry. Cherry. Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding.

Thank you.

There we go.

We'll have a points check at the end of this round just cuz I want to know roughly

where we are. Cherries as well.

Thank you.

All the love's rolling in.

Go. Belle the last name. It's

fine. Is that one? Okay. Seven. Seven. Seven.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.

Yum, yum, yum.

Right. Okay, Mark, finish off the round.

This is a less exciting turn. It does get me lots of money.

One money, right? Okay. So, we pass this card to the right.

Yep.

You're going to be happy.

We add that card

to a stack.

This is rubbish. And then we add up the stacks.

But that isn't gaining a star. It's just that's Oh, no. We get We then get money.

Yeah, that's end game.

I'll take three money to take your money.

And then five money. I shouldn't get

at least take your balance out.

Then you want to do a victory point check.

No.

One card, don't you? 13 14 15 16 17.

Sure.

Uh 14.

17 14 and what were you Mark?

13

10.

You become the first player.

Yes, I am the first player. So,

off we go.

How close are your sevens?

Uh they're not. And I can't. Yes, it's really hard then get them back into do anything with that once you've played them as they are.

I need to I know what I need to do. I'm going to get rid of that for three money and start my turn. Then I'm going to play Bellbell 7. And I'm going to take that back.

Okay. This isn't quite as bad,

right? But then, oh, I don't know what to do now. I don't know whether to upgrade these or Okay, I'll tell you I'm going to go for it. I'm going to spend seven and I'm going to upgrade that to that.

That's just bought you to 19 VPs, isn't it?

Uh 17.

Oh,

I was at 10.

Oh, I forgot 12.

I was at No, he's actually gone up by six.

Oh, yeah.

Okay, it's worth one.

There you go. Done.

Right.

Seven VPs for an upgraded server.

We need some Yes. There. Nice.

But that one gets you a wild.

Yeah.

I've just noticed what's on the other side of that. That would have changed everything. Ah, Rob, you go. Y. Yeah. I just noticed that there is a seven on the other side of that bell.

So, that's another way that I can get and Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I've not been upgrading my basic cards and I now see why I should have been.

Just a scatter shot one.

It's only two to upgrade, isn't there?

Yeah, the basic ones. Yeah.

Yeah. That's amazing.

Okay. Yeah. Clever. Is there any reason why this bit couldn't be played simultaneously?

Uh just for these, I think.

Oh, yeah. Well,

okay. Yeah. No trick. Yeah, that one. Yeah, you'd plan out ahead of time what you were doing, wouldn't you? So it would be fairly quick.

You know, Rob,

you're upgrading.

Sorry, I was hold on upgrading that one.

Uh, I shall just

you don't.

Yeah, I think it froze out. paying four to upgrade that seven to a cherry.

Oh, your basic seven. Right.

Okay. Okay. [ __ ]

I will play.

There's no left.

No. Gone.

So, getting three cherry. Uh, buying cherries. You can't buy cherries now.

One coin.

And then I'm going to do two upgrades.

I need to spend my money this time.

Okay. Could I also buy a card?

So, you can spend your money on buying cards and upgrading however you want.

Yes. This one here, the invisible card.

I mean, it can be anything I want to

um

or a dead

or a dad.

It's the It's the Emperor's Cherry card. Only the really intelligent handsome people can see it. Wind

got flashbacks in that story now. Um,

no, I'm not going to. Okay, Stewart.

Okay.

Cherries.

One coin.

One coin. And I will buy a bell for four. I also upgrade on the same turn.

Yes,

you can upgrade the card that you've just bought. I guess

Oh, I don't know actually.

Rules question for Dr. Can you buy a card and then upgrade that same card?

I think you can from the rules.

Can't upgrade the ones played. know that

cuz it goes in your hand.

Yeah,

we we'll check. But I I would I would say you can.

All right. Sorry. Oh, on that one. On that one. That's all right. I'm not going to upgrade it anyway this turn. So, don't worry. That's going to happen. Let's put it right. All done.

You all done? Right. Start of my turn. I'm going to trade that in for three money. I'm then going to play that, that, and that. Put that back.

It says you can do it as many times as you can afford.

Yeah, I think you can. Grand says buy an upgrade on the center. Yes.

Okay.

Yep. Let's move on.

Cherries and cherries. And

it took cherries.

Cherries.

See, there are three now. Uh, not me yet.

Start gambling. You just raring to go.

Yeah.

I don't like. And this is round four, so it's probably five or six rounds to go.

Yeah. Yeah. It very rarely goes higher than that.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Oh,

essentially you could reduce the victory points or

to play quicker if you wanted to. Yeah.

Yeah. Let's go for those more.

Wow. Watermelon.

And I will buy another

melon. I'm going to trade that in. Three coins. And I'm gonna play bell seven dud for one coin.

And then I'm gonna spend seven.

Last one.

I'm gonna buy that.

Oh no. Cuz if I do that, I have to give it away.

I'm not going to spend seven.

Come on. Come on.

No, I'm not spending seven.

All bets are fine. All

way. I changed my mind. Give her my money back.

I won't pay that. There you go. Done. One

that's let you move card around.

Yes.

Yes. And that's upgraded discount.

Discount two.

I'll have to move cards around. One,

right, Mark.

Ding ding ding ding ding ding.

Your second one this round.

Yep.

Wow. See how great you are.

And again.

It's only three now though.

Okay. Still right card to the right.

You might want to do a victory. We check out

add to the stack and then I'm going to take money so I get five money.

Two cash.

Oh, that's good, isn't it?

So, I'm going to put that on there and that on there.

I've got seven eight. Let's see.

15 points. Five 16 17 18 19 20 21

That's 17 18 19 20. It's on your table.

21 20. I'm on 15.

20.

It's yours on 20.

Okay. Interesting.

Anyone's game.

Yeah.

Uh well, let's go 777 and make that 28. Nice. That's great.

Oh, it's all going.

It's another cherry. Cherry. Cherry.

Cherry.

Chance of the game ending this round.

What you want, Rob?

28. Seven more. You

get seven more.

I think it might go another one.

I think it'll go another one. But I can't risk it. So I will upgrade. Sorry to buy a bell.

Help me. Double

watermelon.

Doubles. Let's take a reupgrade.

Yeah, cuz it's an upgrade for your turn, isn't it?

Yeah. Oh, and then I can

So, it's not as good as that in terms of money, but it allows you to do the upgrade before you play. spend for

okay I play those three I trade that in for three money I then play those three to get another money so that's four I then spend seven again this time

that to that and then I spend two three four to buy that putting it in there.

Okay. If I play this and is that what this does?

Uh around.

Yeah. Just Well, just move one to another position.

Gotcha.

Yeah.

Yeah. Not swap. That would be very different.

Jerry's Jerry Jastic. That's back in the box. That's That was You're 28 before, weren't you? 31. Yes.

Upgraded. Did you get a staff?

Did you upgrade? Had

upgraded. I'm upgrading now. So, I got another star. That's uh 32 points. Not quite. Well, the game's going to end next time, isn't it?

7 14 19 26 29 5 9 16 23 26 27 28 29 30 31 32.

Yeah, 32. Speaking of points dinging ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding. You got a mixture you be doing two card. That was nice. I saw that was good.

Let's do it.

Just the melons. Too many of them. Thank you. That's it. Great discount. Bell bell. Okay. Grape grape seven. Take the move a card around please.

Watermelons.

That is impressive.

So now here if you get this you get two

stays there from the pile and one of these. Okay.

Yeah. So, just one coin for that one.

777. Nice. I've done it actually. You guys

I gained me 18 points this round.

Um, yeah, cuz I've got one card left, so I don't want to upgrade it. I have to give one of the points. So, Oh, awesome.

Is this an upgraded one?

No.

Okay.

Okay. So, that's I'm going to put it there. 12

16 26 How many points you want? Wait,

let's have a points check.

Wait. Uh 7 14 17 18 25 32 32 32 Okay, going into probably the last round. I think you're on.

Who's the first player now? Mark, that's difficult. Oh, money. Oh,

just take I'll just take one. I'm assuming there was a minimum of one card. I've got one card with least two in it. So, it be minimum of two. So, take two. Right. Off we go then. Final round. I don't think these cards are any good.

that way. Not a very exciting start. One coin. Then we'll be doing at least one upgrade.

Big upgrade or a little upgrade? Definitely doing that. How much was that one? A little one. Yeah, I'll be doing another. This one will be a big upgrade.

Okay.

Yeah, it's true.

Okay, I'll trade that one in for an upgrade. This one

watermelonic. So you get two points from the pool and you get one of those.

Okay. Three stars.

Oh

yeah.

And then I can upgrade again.

So someone has to steal that only when there's none left.

Yeah.

Upgrade. Two. Yeah. Two to upgrade.

That will multiply it as well.

Okay, cool. All the bells.

Nice.

That triggers the end of the game.

Okay, since we're the last band. Yeah.

Okay.

Oh, but I've got these. Uh I'm definitely using them. So, I'm spending two to upgrade that one cuz it costs two. And I'm spending four to upgrade that one. Okay. Spend that into there to do a move card around

and I'll move that one. And I'll do 777. Nice. Excellent. And unless you want to upgrade to upgrade that one, right?

Very strange.

Do you still pass a card on the last round or not?

Um,

my guess is no.

No, cuz it's finish the whole round or just finish the hand each.

Yeah.

Yeah. Um,

rules question for Dr. Once the game enders triggered on the last round of the game, do you still pass your last card to the right?

Don't think you're getting card.

Okay.

Yeah. I'm going to do a strange. Are you allowed to make wilds be some? Can I play this and say actually those aren't cherries to make it to

I think they can be anything you want.

Yeah, you do anything you want. Yeah,

that is a very strange one. But yeah,

there's a reason.

But you want three cherries because three cherries get you two points and a title.

Yeah.

Oh, that's a good point.

Yeah. So, you still take a title.

I'll do it as that. Yeah.

But you get two points.

Two points. Yes, that's it. Sorry. It's just

It was a strange test.

It was a very because I forgot the rules.

I could see the theory if it wasn't if that wasn't there. Yeah, it doesn't really need to get any better. Dr. said the game ends at the end of the round. So, you still pass a card and you still take income.

Yeah.

Okay. Thank you.

Oh, but you can only cash those in at the

start of your turn.

You can't

you have one.

You can't upgrade a card to the end of your turn

unless you

Okay,

buy that token.

That one.

You take that token instead. That lets you upgrade at the start of your turn

for a discount of two.

I still need enough money and I don't

rob a bank.

Go and play ruler. That's a different game. Yeah. Okay.

Okay. Just going for a double

watermelon. Watermelon. And take this one.

And we're saying that that double Yes.

doubles that.

That's six now.

Unless they can all disappear and someone takes it.

Yeah. It's not going to happen, is it?

Three. Four. Did we say you do have to pass cards at the end?

Yes. Sure. I buy another. So you can give someone a [ __ ]

Bing bing bing bing.

That one.

Another one.

Another sevens. I got no money so I don't upgrade. Don't take the shuffle card around. Right, Mark. Final turn of the game for you.

Two points.

Cherry something something. Two points on that.

Yeah. The pool of tokens is empty.

Oh no, Stewart's going to lose six points.

Two points.

So, two stars and the stealer token.

Oh, you can steal a token.

So, whose token are you going to steal?

Is it?

Well, it is cuz that's worth two points.

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Cool.

There you go.

And you get two points from there.

Okay. And I've got seven, seven, and a bell. So, I get to take a token.

Yep.

Oh, which one? Well, here's the thing. I could take that one.

Well, if I take that one and then Rob plays two, he gets it off me. That's a six point swing.

If I take that one, that's worth that's worth one at the end of the game.

Yeah.

Unless he gets one of these and gets He's likely to take the three.

Yeah, but he may need that. there. I think we should take three.

I think I'm safer to take that one because there's less likely that that one's going to get stolen

and it screws up. Rob

as pointed out by

Yes, that one's yours.

That's my one. That one. Just take the coin.

We're all done. So, we passed the last card.

Take your income. take your income which is too many money. Oh no, four money. I'm going to guess money is a tiebreaker.

Right. Points a bit closer than you realize. 45 46 of those double defin 14 26 30 23

34 35 36 37 38

38

I think.

Interesting. Did you count your in individual?

Did you Oh, wait. I forgot about these. 36. Is this worth anything?

No. I get 36.

So 36 38 38.

What' you get?

46.

No, you managed to get

two of these.

I I upgraded two of my sevens to sevens and I scored sevens three times.

So my plan was to do something different from what you were all doing just cuz something different. And you were all spending little bits of money to do the upgrades, which were great.

And I was holding off till I got seven.

Yeah.

And then when I spent seven, I bought that. And then I had to hold off which meant I wasn't upgrading the little cards. But it it came good at the end. Just

they did loads of combos of just two cards to get the three.

That that was the whole plan is is play two to get the three get three money. It is just to generate as much money as possible.

Eight points behind

to buy the sevens

the score phase.

Yeah. And then I was five points behind and then ended up

Yeah.

Yeah. Cool. Right. We're all done now. This is just the base game, isn't it?

Yeah. I haven't looked into the expansions.

There's loads of extra little bits.

Some of them quite random. One of them's in Dana Jones type.

Yeah, you're running away from a rolling boulder or something like that.

Pirates, I believe, or Yeah.

So, yeah, uh Kickstarter page will have the full information about the game and what's included in the Kickstarter and all the stretch goals and all of that stuff. Um but we are done for today. So, yeah, a big thank you. Money is a tiebreaker. Yeah, thank you very much to Mark for teaching. Thank you Ro Games for sponsoring the video. Thank you to all of you for joining me this afternoon. And as I said at the start, this is a sponsored video, so no opinions in this video, but I hope it's helped you make a decision about whether it's the kind of game that you might want to back. If you do, the link is in the description of this video. The Kickstarter page runs for I don't know, however long it's going to run for, at least another week, I think. Um, but yeah, that's everything. Thank you very much for watching. Take care. We'll see you all next time. Bye-bye.
