Oh, welcome dream collectors, bargain hunting witches, and people who go into one shop just to look and come out with empty wallets and a candle shaped board game that they didn't know they needed. Teehee. Today, we are opening a magical shop, the Yumigari Dream Shop. Ha. Yes, yes, there is still so much to do. We need to gather enchanted goods, arrange the display, make everything look mysterious but affordable, and somehow make our shop prettier than Macy's, Myer, and Marks & Spencer combined. Luckily, I have my loyal magical familiar, Taran the Fun Guy. Huh.

Thank you. I am a fun guy. How may I serve you, master?

I do like that name. Here. Put this lantern somewhere on the shelf.

Yes, master.

Make sure everyone can see how magical the light is.

So, right at the very front.

Hmm. But don't block the other items. You see, it's quite large compared to the glasses.

Okay, so, second layer.

Actually, put it at the back. It'll light up the whole display. Wait, wait, wait. Um but actually, I want the customer also to notice it from outside.

So, back at the front.

Uh not front front, but it's slightly to the left. Uh a bit bit backish kind of front.

That doesn't make sense.

Slightly to the right. No, you're at the right. No, uh higher. Lower. More dreamier. Make it more expensive. Yumigari Dream Shop plays one to five players with mechanics such as tile placement, drafting, and pattern building. The game is of light complexity. Well, there's are a few things you need to consider when placing your items. In Yumigari Dream Shop, you are shop owners drafting good tiles for your shops to put them in your shop with the help of your familiar to gain the most points by following the game's placement objectives while pretending you have a business plan for your shop. Good luck. The game plays over four rounds, each with six turns. Each turn everyone drafts, gains, and places one tile at the same time.

I reveal a beautiful hourglass.

Ooh, that's very nice. Hey, I liked that last round when you revealed this cookie.

That is not a tile. That's an actual cookie.

It's a good cookie. What? I'm testing the component quality.

And you're testing my patience. You must place the tile on your board where your familiar is. Your familiar can only move one space orthogonally for free. No animal parkour here. And pay a paw token for each extra move. Gain any bonus on the tile you place or when you cover icons with the matching colors or items. These bonuses come in the form of paw tokens or victory point tokens. There are magic portals in your shop. Now, corporate made us install them. They say customers getting lost in the maze of portals should result in them browsing longer and buying more. But, they also have the more ethical benefit of allowing your familiar to move quickly between departments.

Now, as I hinted earlier, tile placement is an important part of your scoring. In each game, there will be random cards that dictates how you score your tile placement points. One based on colors and one for items. For example, for having many of the same color in the row or having the same items diagonally adjacent. You are allowed to place a tile on top of another tile. The old tile is removed from the game and the new tile takes its place. This is useful when you plan changes or when you realize the first half of your shop looks like it was decorated by a raccoon with a Pinterest account. Or you can discard the tile and gain a port token.

No, thank you to discard this lamp. I call that tactical move

and not at all hate drafting. After six turns, the round ends. Everyone draws six item tiles and you continue. After four rounds, the game ends. Add up the VP tokens you gain during the game, then score points from the two scoring cards. Did you have the best business plan for your magical item shop? Remember, it's all about getting your shop to look pretty and trusting that the sales will follow. Online shopping can't compare with this well-organized display. Yummy Gallery Dream Shop looks cute and approachable and there is a satisfying little puzzle inside. You are juggling your tiles, your familiar's position, your port tokens and the board rewards, the bonuses on tiles and the many combinations of scoring cards.

The simultaneous turns keeps the pace nice and breezy, especially at higher player counts. Everyone is building their own magical shop, but the hand passing means you still care about what tiles are moving around the table. There is also a two-player variant.

Instead of passing hands, you prepare stacks of three tiles. Each round, the first player will reveal one stack and chooses one tile. The second player chooses one of the remaining two and the last tile is discarded. Then you alternate the player. It gives you that nice drafting from a tiny market feel with just enough tension. And there you go. My magical dream shop is complete. Lamps arranged, books displayed, enchanted drinks prepared and safely behind the bar. Tarrant!

Good news, the drink was not cursed.

That was not your drink. That was a scoring objective. You drank my victory points.

And they were delicious. My heartiest congratulations to the bar staff.

Well, folks, why don't you open your own shop? Back Yummygari Dream Shop on crowdfunding.

And hopefully you get a familiar as nice as me.

Hopefully the one that does not drink all your drinks.

I'm very familiar with this criticism.
