Description
A game based on the Avengers superheroes from the Marvel Universe. The game is played using three custom decks which are shared by both players: the Foe Deck, Plot Deck, and Hero Deck. The players attempt to defeat Foes by playing Hero cards having a higher total value than the Foe Meld, a total of the values of the current Foe card and three Plot cards. The first player to defeat five Foes is the winner.

Mechanics (from transcript analysis)
- Combat Damage Triggers — Many cards have abilities that trigger when dealing combat damage to a player, such as drawing cards, creating tokens, or adding mana.
- Commander Synergy — Both Captain America, Team Leader and Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. provide benefits when heroes are played or attack.
- Cost Reduction — Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. reduces the cost of Hero spells, and other cards offer cost reduction under specific conditions.
- Counter doubling — Cards like Captain America, Team Leader, and Hercules, Olympian Hero add +1/+1 counters to themselves or other creatures.
- graveyard recursion — Heroic Return and Winter Soldier, Reborn Avenger can return creatures from the graveyard to the battlefield.
- Keyword Granting — Abilities grant vigilance, haste, flying, first strike, double strike, and indestructible to creatures, often tied to attacking or casting hero spells.
- Protection — Cards grant hexproof, indestructible, or phase out creatures to protect them from removal.
- token generation — Falcon and Redwing create creature tokens when dealing combat damage, and Champions from Beyond creates multiple hero tokens.

Quotes (from this video)
- This set is really highly anticipated and for good reason.
- Yeah, great design, really cool mechanics and stuff.
- The hero returns out of nowhere, blocking the attacking creature presumably.
- So, it's kind of like a fog where you're sacrificing one creature. Um, which is kind of cool. A fog in white and then you get a draw card on top.
- This is going to go in a lot of decks.
- So, those are the five cards again that were from the main set uh that are standard legal but are also quote unquote reprints in this precon.
- total reprint value of this deck is $148.25.
- So, higher quality reprints than average.
- This deck is not doing the aristocrats thing.
- You are attacking. You are swinging out for the most part and holding up like maybe two, three mana at most because of the counter spells that you have and the protection pieces.
- I think this deck is actually really well built already because it already has protection.
