Description

User Summary

A strategy RPG where you control a mercenary company in a low fantasy setting with a procedurally generated world map, combat maps, and mercenaries. Hire your mercenaries, buy their equipment and supplies, and choose the contracts that you want to take. If one of your men dies they die for good, keep them alive with battle formations and tactics like shield and spear walls. Train your surviving men by having them learn abilities from three different skill trees and raising their combat abilities, health, initiative, and resolve. Different weapons grant different combat skills and have different accuracy, health and armor damage ratings, and range.

Quotes (from this video)
  • OPR is the GURPS of wargaming.
  • 40K rules as deep, I would call it artificially deep.
  • Star Wars Legion terrain is almost always the best.
  • OPR skirmish is a breath of fresh air compared to Kill Team.
  • The damned stuff is supposed to be out, but it's not out yet, unfortunately.

Quotes (from this video)
  • the real disappointment is that it's a horror game you need the tension of a horror film you need to feel like you could die or lose it any minute and you could but you never feel like you're in with a fighting chance
  • I would recommend checking out burgle brothers
  • I would never play Dixit again
  • Mysterium is a game with all the wonderful artwork but it has a real game to it as far as I'm concerned
  • Burgle Brothers is a brilliant cooperative game where you're doing a bank heist together
  • I really love that game and that's because it does something very different that no other deck builder does
  • I would still play it but certainly don't want it in my collection anymore
