Quotes (from this video)
  • Let's get right to it and take a good long look at my booty.
  • It's a huge overwhelming spectacle of tabletop gaming.
  • I love miniature agnostic games.
  • I really like this concept of being able to, you know, have these different little zenes that you can kind of, you know, add and subtract from and things like that.
  • As an outsider I find to be a little I don't want to say opaque, but I can definitely say challenging to some degree.
  • It's a little kingdom death looking little bit.
  • It's always interesting like on Saturday you can find like the cheapest prices, but the good stuff's already been picked over at that point.
  • And if you ever have to sell t-shirts at Gen Con, bring a lot more extraarges and double extraarges than smalls. I'm just saying, it just seems like a good idea.
  • I really like the concept of Conflict 47. I really do. But um man, I just just bounced right off of those initial Firefly builds and I want to give it another try and see if it's just me or if it's maybe it's them.
  • So, um yeah, when I saw that they still had some there at the booth, I was like, 'Yeah, I'm going to definitely have to uh pick that up.'

Quotes (from this video)
  • This is probably the most I've seen for the merch line ever at Gen Con.
  • Gen Con brings in a lot this year, brought in 75,000 attendees. I think $82 million in local businesses for funds.
  • Lockwood's Asylum, a competitive survival horror deck building game.
  • And your goal is to be the last person standing.
  • The game makers here in full production. It's nice.
  • The scale of Battlefront is just so insane. I I I can't wrap my head around how crazy this Battlefront looks.
  • Flip Tunes 2. This is the only game that I looked up for Gen Con because I didn't make any lists.
  • This is the favorite thing that I saw for today and it was Lord of the Rings: King's Gambit.
  • I love the aspect of that you are trying to give that you're buying monsters to put into other players rooms, which I thought was really funny.
  • Symbiosis. Really love this game. It's a really great fit for my family on trips and everything cuz it's such so tiny and so easy to play.
  • The goal is to get that player to guess the secret word by collectively providing them with three clue words.
  • It's actually one of those games where it's a little bit better if things go off the rails.
  • What what I was really scared of is that a game like this can easily get frustrating if people are not along the same wavelength cuz it just invites that kind of frustration, right?
  • I would never play this game without hints.

  • All right, don't tell anybody, man. Got some Gen Con coffee.
  • So, this is a tabletop RPG tabletop game, but I want to show you how cool the terrain is.
  • We're in line for the Asmodee booth.
  • So, Josh is in line for Neroscape TCG and I'm like, "Since you're here, I really want to get Dinab."
  • It's a war game.
  • The Number Nine, you play cards of the same value, check the table, if you beat someone's set, and then create new combos and be the first out of cards to win.
  • You all know what I love these solo games.
  • You know, I said earlier that 10 to 15 slots is my maximum. See, that right there is what we call a parlay. It's just a general guideline. I may have exceeded that already.

Quotes (from this video)
  • it was actually a bit difficult to pick winners for the 2023 tabletop minions Awards this year partially because some of the things that I was thinking about for the awards didn't come out until later in the year and I didn't really get much if any time with them.
  • also I didn't really feel like this year was a banner year for tabletop wargaming it wasn't bad right just not much that really kind of sparked fire in me for 2023 hopefully 2024 will be better and there'll be a ton of things to choose from a year from now.
  • The results I think speak for themselves they're full of character and wit and though they kind of have that old school look there's no mushiness to the details you never go wondering is that a pouch or is that part of his pants or what none of that kind of stuff things are clear but still have that sort of same kind of hand-done aesthetic.
  • it just makes it so much easier to use washes and speed Paints in dropper bottles and dropper bottles are my preferred format for that kind of stuff now you can't knock them over and spill them they rarely ever dry out or get gunk around the edges all that kind of stuff and and they just work better.
  • You will get Grime you will get shading you will get definition quick and easy.
  • like when you when you play small skirmish games sometimes they can feel kind of light you know and frequently that's exactly what I'm looking for personally I don't know about you but sometimes I'm just looking for like a light fun rule set but this game through its depth and theme and crunch really sets itself apart.
  • The conversations are all about like kit bashing cool game mechanics DIY games and terrain and sometimes like music and Cryptids and you know different things like that as well they're are really nice supportive group of dudes and listening is like kind of like sitting around hanging with a gaming group.
  • It's a quick and smooth rule set with tons of like other gangs for you to choose from and other Force Es as well you can you know change your your list out or play different forces whatever you want.
  • I really like the asymmetrical play style there's always more gangers than judges which kind of makes sense.

Quotes (from this video)
  • I think their current list building is trash in my opinion
  • why is it war cry can be just fine and be a fine game when you can take whatever the heck you want as long as it comes up to a thousand points you need a leader and then everybody else but like you can't do that in Kill team
  • The 2017 version is vastly superior
  • when I was very disappointed when the original uh necrom 2017 came out because it did not have rules for three-dimensional play and it was just designed to be played on that board that came in the box
  • I love the concept of necromunda I have no interest in playing it because it is so so super in-depth and also spread all over the place in multiple books
  • Kill team is not an intro game to 40K it is only easier to get into because the model count
  • people in general that struggle to wrap their head around the line of sight rules
  • if you're a company that big cool Min is pretty big and if you're going to have a big huge giant game found Kickstarter whatever you're going to do and then you're going to be like yeah but if you want it in Australia it's going to cost as much as the game costs to get it shipped there
  • The benefit to monopose is that you can make a more Dynamic sculpt you can make them doing something really cool but the problem is if you need six of them then it's six guys doing the exact same cool thing and then it becomes less cool
  • The new version of kill team is based off of war cry so that doesn't make any sense either
  • it's a cool game it's a very cool game
  • It's better than anything else The Games Workshop puts out easily as far as any kind of on like their app or any kind of jazz like that

  • Friends don't let friends Buy HP printers
  • Wizards of the Coast would really rather that you just buy Magic by the case directly from them it seems
  • They've been making a lot of really bad decisions in my opinion and if they go to business I will laugh and point
  • I just don't understand why they don't want to do that
  • I mean the machines that do the saddle stitching are a real pain to maintain they have a tendency to break down a lot
  • The print books like the vast majority of people are buying the printed versions as opposed to just PDF only
  • I don't know what the fourth dimension is
  • I don't really pay attention to that stuff too much
  • Most new Morheim players I talk to seem happy to download the PDFs for free from broheim these days and when I mention paper Printing and hard copies they think I'm crazy
  • One odd thing about cyber punk red starter doesn't come with with gonks which I feel is like an essential mechanic
  • Monac is a great game and the minis for the main monsters are beautiful and fun as heck to pain
  • I attended a one-day charity Horus heresy event yesterday called Pride of the Legion a good day for a great cause but now I'm horse and this can be and need at least a day to recover

Quotes (from this video)
  • I bought wargs this weekend because of your video made them sound cool well there you go that's pretty cool I hope you have a good time building them and painting them and then playing games with them
  • I swear they said we were going to get rid of this Daylight Saving Shenanigans and as everything else in the government nothing happened well nothing good at least
  • I don't mind it in the fall kind of I mean other than the fact all a sudden everything gets real dark and spooky all the time but that extra hour of sleep is sort of dope but yeah then you know in the spring they they steal it from you which is a bummer
  • I don't know what an ice NAD is but it sounds sounds sounds icy
  • To quote kitan from Batman the Brave and the Bold Ben Franklin was a fraud
  • I think there is too much weight on dice roll which removes maybe skill or for luck with the action success
  • The pain of wanting to play a game my area doesn't want to play it's real y'all I'm trying old world and Middle Earth
  • I'll be real Frank with you folks I haven't signed up to be in an event in a minute it's like cuz usually I'm there and I'm doing other stuff but I haven't taken a class or signed up for events or anything like that
  • I literally just want you to send it to me in a cardboard box and that I can recycle easily that's literally all I want I am unimpressed completely by packaging
  • the trick will be parking that bus
  • Harbinger of failure
  • I love when Amazon offers the minimalist packaging option for things usually a lot easier to get whatever I bought
  • the Virtual Boy was the Google stadia of its day
  • Companies will absolutely use the tariffs as an excuse to sneak in price increases in blame tariffs
  • I think that they're very much stuck in this situation where they're like things are going well somehow inexplicably and so let's continue doing it even though there may be some writing on the wall that reducing model count would maybe get more people into the hobby which could then end up being better
  • there's no benefit that's the problem with tech these days is that they're like trying to figure out how to it's like they learned how to do a thing and now they're trying to shoehorn it into stuff to make it a product
  • If I could get AI to clean the toilet that'd be great
  • I think machine learning AI where it's like doing a thing that saves you a whole bunch of time that's what I that's what I want more of that less of the other thing less of the the um what is it the um when you take somebody else's writing plagiarism less of the plagiarism machine and a little bit more of the saving me time machine that'd be great
  • the way that you roll can be kind of also modified depending as well and then that'll tell you basically you need a seven Up is basically the case in most situations but there can be modifications and tweaks and things like that
  • The the vending Hall was it was a nice space but it wasn't anywhere it was in like a kind of an odd spot and people weren't coming through much cuz they didn't sort of know where it was
  • The only benefit it seems like it's something that makes sense for gaming but for everything else yeah I don't want to do business with a VR helmet on my head
  • with dead zone I like painted up the the when I when dead zone 1 came out I painted up the enforcers and the plague and um it's now we're on dead zone version three and I still haven't played a game
  • I was just thinking about that game recently because I remember when there was like the kickstarter was like several years ago and I hadn't heard anything about it in a while and I was like I wonder if they ever like actually fulfilled or whatever
  • Cosmic frog World eaters from Dimension zero is a skirmish board game from Devious weasel games where you play as two mile tall extra planer frogs eating planets and fighting each other
  • I've only managed to play one trench Crusade game with a friend and I think that there is too much weight on dice roll which removes maybe skill or for luck with the action success
  • the person who's shooting at you gets to choose whether they want to use those blood markers the blood markers are not just like hey this is hit points they're almost like they're a little bit like marker lights like if you've ever played the TOA in 40K back in the day
  • it is a quick game you can definitely have somebody who can just get wiped out in one shot it just happens you know
  • Excessive packaging is bad.
  • VR makes me sick.
  • AI should be useful, not just a buzzword.
  • Companies should sell STLs.
  • Price increases are concerning.
  • um I wasn't wowed by cyber Punk either
  • any company not named Games Workshop needs to sell stls at this point or they're dead
  • the price per page for the type of books that we do is going up 76%
  • I don't use AI for artistic Creations I just don't even like the amount of power and energy that that takes personally
  • you think GW needs to rescale the amount of models in 40K especially with the focus on competitive events
  • it's unlikely that any of our titles would start losing money necessarily but we've been getting a certain amount of profit which pays for our ability to get artists and do all that kind of stuff that will dwindle drastically
  • I don't know it's a good question I'm glad I don't have to make the decisions over there

  • HOAs are a blight on this country.
  • My first videos were shot on a Nikon D5100, which I had to trick into shooting, well, that's not true. I didn't have to trick it into shooting video. I had to trick it into kind of giving me manual control of how I shot video.
