Description

Players are guild masters of rival adventuring guilds who must wisely divide their crews of lizard-riding gophers and spell-casting badgers into questing parties to gain gold, power, and new recruits to strengthen their ranks.

Each round, four quests will be available to compete over, each with their own unique criteria and rewards.

During deployment, players have access to their entire crew, but must be careful not to overcommit. After a hard day of questing, any crew dispatched will spend the next round kicking back in the tavern, so you’ll need to plan ahead.

Whichever guild master has gained the most power over the course of 8 rounds wins!

Mechanics (from transcript analysis)
  • Race — There's a race to get all-powerful crew members on your side of the table by leveling them up in different classes.
  • Semi-blind bidding — Players commit adventuring parties face down to compete for quests, where the number of crew sent is known but their power is not.
  • Set Collection — Players collect gold during the game, and some main quests reward victory points based on the amount of gold hoarded.
  • Worker Placement — Adventurers are created and sent out to compete for quests, which can be seen as a form of worker placement.
