Hey, I'm Alex Ra from Board Game Co.

I'm Professor Mike.

And today we're going to be playing through Trials of Maya by Department of Lore. This is a skirmish game with multiple play modes. We're going to be playing the one versus one today. Although, if you want to learn more about the other modes, you can check out the preview for that. Speaking of which, this is a prototype. All rules and components subchange, and we'll have a link to the crafting campaign down below. That said, this is a sponsored playthrough. We're going to go ahead and get started. I am playing as Danga over here. Meg, you are playing as

Maravi.

Maravi. uh we are both uh you know creatures with our own roles and guides and things we're going to do, but ultimately our main goal as we play through this uh scenario over here is to take down the health of the opponent's towers. You're going to have towers on the board, you can see one over here, you can see one over here. Uh that's mine and Megs. And we are trying to reduce the health of those towers by either directly attacking them or alternatively, every time a champion dies, you're going to take one death token and deal that much damage to the tower. That much meaning it escalates. The first time a champion dies, you deal one damage to your tower. The second time you deal two and onwards and so forth. So, uh, try not to die often, although you probably will die at some point. Uh, but with that, we're going to go ahead, I guess, some lore, some background lore for you is, uh, Maya is this giant like simulating living thing that's running Trials, hence the name Trials of Maya. So, it kind of has these champions pluck think street master vibes. You pluck these champions, you run them through simulations, we have the champions, we have the minions, and all of that helps it build this predictive knowledge of the entire everything. Uh, with that, we are going to go ahead and take some turns over here. Uh, we're going to go through, you said.

So, you know, Alex, we have these memories like pre fragments. Yeah.

Uh, and I'm going to just uh I meant to have it like this all before we even start.

The way the game begins is you have a hand size of cards. Your hand size is equal to whatever your character board tells you. So, for example, we both have a hand size of four right now. You start off with a row of memory fragments. Think of these as small residual past uh knowledge of our actions. They're not part of our core deck. We are using the preconstructed decks right now, but there is deck building in this game if you want to explore it. Uh and what's going to happen is every round, these fragments are going to slowly slide off the board as we place actual actions into our timeline, and that's going to build up our actions as well as the energy we're going to be gaining each round. That's basically the cycle, which means we can go ahead and start off by going through these cycles of play, starting with the refresh phase. The refresh phase is the first thing you do. We're not going to do on the first turn, but basically we would get rid of any of the objectives that had been achieved. The objectives are going to be how we gain experience, which is essential to leveling up your characters. There's a variety of ways to level up the characters in the game. Then we're going to draw. We already have a hand over here, so we're going to draw straight to four, but like straight to your hand size, basically. Uh if you're above your hand size, you're fine, but you draw to your hand size. Uh then we're going to reset the action cards, which we don't need to do right now, but that would basically be like marking these action cards. If one of them activated, we would reset it down to over here to show it's no longer activated. And then we get to the slide phase. You slide an action card. So right now, Mega are going to slide an action card. I'm going to get five experience based on five energy, not experience, based on the lower right of the card. The other cards are going to slide along. And then you resolve any onexit effects if a card had an onexit effect. None of ours do. And then from there, we'll go ahead and place a card face down where we'll then reveal it simultaneously to determine turn order, initiative, all those things. So for right now, uh I have not

heavily thought through this because right now the biggest thing is to close the distance. Uh, I need to go ahead and figure out whether I'm recruiting minions first, whether I'm directly attacking me. Those are all things to be determined. Um, I don't yet know what I want to do.

H.

So, to that end, I think I think um Oh, interesting. That could be useful, but I need I need more of that first. I need better cards.

I believe I have chosen.

Do you?

Yeah. Okay. Uh we'll go ahead and we'll play uh this over here. So, I'm going to play this card right now. So, we're going to play it face down over here to our display. Uh and then from there, we go to the initiative phase. In the initiative phase, we're going to flip our cards. And I have a one energy card and you have a six energy card.

Yes,

that's relevant because what's the Oh my

Well, don't worry because I'm not I economywise I have other plans.

Oh, well, my plan currently is uh this is initiative. So the lower the initiative you play, the lower the energy cost. Thinking

I'm going to go first this round. So that's going to determine turn order.

You always probably would.

Then we get to the honor arrival effects. If a card has an on arrival effect, we would do it. I don't believe mine does. Yours does not. Great. Which means now we go to the next phase, which is going to be a turn order. This is the point where we would spawn our heroes. Uh spawn you spawn heroes. You can spawn minions if you have them. Right now we start with minion heads. So I have this elder Kman. Me has one as well. But in order to actually play minions, you have to first deal damage to the minions in play to basically build a health pool. Basically, when you deal damage to neutral minions, you gain their health, and then you can spawn your own minions uh to take actions during the minion phase, which happens before your turn. Uh with no minion activating, I will instead take my turn. This way, you can do a variety of actions. You can play relics, you can play uh spells, you can take actions with your character, you can resolve all your entire board right now. So, I need to figure out how I actually want to do my board because I think I think I need to actually just deal damage to minions. I think that's the core idea. So looking at my board right now, I can activate these in any order. Let me think what I want to do.

Immediately after moving, if adjacent to a unit, I can discard three to deal a damage. That's not bad. That's not bad. It's not necessarily great because I could move two right now. I could move two. I could go ahead and deal damage to can stop, won't stop, which is not terrible. I have these modifiers here. Immediately after moving, if adjacent to unit, discard three, deal damage. I guess it's not the worst. I'm trying to think through move one before pushing. Interesting. And my ability over here is once per push, spend two defense. Once per turn, a move is a jump. And once per turn, jump move one after successful attack. Okay, so we're going to we're going to play out my abilities here. We're going to see how this works. I I don't know how it's going to go. Uh but I'm going to go ahead and start by activating this card. So I'm going to bump this up over here. Uh, and that's going to let me move two. And after moving, if adjacent to a unit, I can discard three cards to deal a damage.

So, I think I am going to do that. So, right now, we're going to move two. I'm going to go one, two. Uh, then I'm going to discard three cards cuz I'm adjacent to unit to deal one damage. So, I'm going to go ahead and discard those. Uh, that's going to deal damage to this one, which means I'm starting to build my health pool, but I am building a little bit of aggro as well. Although, speaking of which, that means I actually am going to be dealing uh, what's it called? Deal two damage with a single action. That's interesting. Once per action, I can spend two defense, which I don't have. Once per turn, a jump. A move can be a jump. And then I can also move after a successful attack. Okay, just give me one second. That's action. Oh, I have spent energy, by the way. So, spend energy one, two on that. And over here, I can move before a push. I don't think I need to do that. I think what I'm going to do instead immediately after moving, deal one damage to everyone. I think I'm going to spend two over here.

Um, and then I'm going to resolve. So, it's going to be two energy. One, two. And I'm going to deal a push of two. So over on the arena, I'm going to push two. If someone has nowhere to go, when you push them, they take what's called collision damage. So I'm going to be dealing two more damage to him right now. That's going to deal a bunch of damage to them. Uh and that is my two actions. I've I spent four energy. I did a bunch of things. I did not spend one to do that. So that's fine. Uh which means now I can go ahead and claim claim an objective as well. We have a bunch of objectives in the corner. What are the current objectives? We have I believe deal collision damage is going to be one. I think I'm going to claim that one. So, I'm going to deal collision damage if you want to put that there, which is going to give me two experience points. Uh, because I I did that one. You can claim one objective per turn. That's going to give you experience points and you can spend experience to level up at various level up points. I think that's everything I'm doing. I do have two more energy if I wanted to this because I could, for example, retreat.

Let me see what's the con stop one stop doing. He's going to move three in a straight line. So, interesting. I could retreat if I wanted to, which is an interesting decision. Oh, give me a second. How much energy do I want to spend? No, I don't have energy. I only have one energy left. Never mind. Never mind. Uh, I cannot do it.

That's enough.

Okay, I think I'm done. I'm done. That is my turn. Uh, which means it is your end of turn. I could discard any cards. I have no cards to discard. So, Meg, it is your turn.

Okay. Okay. I had a plan.

I respect that plan,

but I'm actually changing my plan.

I respect that, too. before it ever even happens, which is fine. Um, I am isolated, so I get to enter flight because I'm a super squishy bird. But that's okay because I have these things I'm going to be able to put out. So, I am going to h I am going to uh activate this card first.

Okay,

which is going to be uh moving to and then pushing. So, I'll spend one, two, and then I will go one, two, and then push him this way.

All right. How much push are you in? One. So, it's going to be one damage.

Okay.

Okay. And I did have a plan, but I'm actually yet again changing my plan now. I should put this here, correct?

Sure.

Okay.

Oh, yes. Technically, you should. Yes.

Okay. And I I sadly I'm going to attack him with my memories. Uh so we will go one two. Uh so I get to do two damage which is plus one because of my flight.

Yeah, flight is basically in the game height always means you deal plus one damage and flight is considered to be higher than anything else.

All right, so I will take three damage from Oh, I'm doing the wrong guy. I can reach him for I don't know why I was taking

three damage to your health pool.

Yeah,

technically I could have gone after this one.

This is a good time to note this pool technically is meant for the uh the death tokens, but it's just closer. So, we're using that on both sides. They're asymmetric.

This is what's his name?

Can't stop, won't stop.

He can't stop anyone. He is definitely going to attack you. Mine's also going to attack me.

Okay.

Oh. Oh, but you

I'm really squishy.

You are squishy. That is unfortunate.

Yeah. And there I don't think there's anything I can do about that.

Do you have any movement? You could put shield up. This This has shield.

I don't have the stuff.

You don't have three. At that point, you do not have the stuff. Um, this will allow me to draw a card.

Okay,

maybe I'll draw a spell.

Maybe you'll draw.

I don't.

Um, but I will use this ability to build an adjacent um thing right here. [snorts]

Okay. An engram.

Okay.

Okay. And that is that's your turn.

Yes.

Okay. So, at this point, oh, I should have actually technically, by the way, I should have done this in my turn. Uh, these guys would have reacted at the end of my turn. So, he should have attacked me now, not doing whatever. So, at the end of my turn, he would have attacked me. Uh, he has can stop, won't stop. So, he's going to basically move three if he can, which he's already next to me, so he doesn't need to. At which point, he's going to, I believe, deal three damage or three push. Uh, Meg, you as the opposing player get to decide which one he does.

I guess three damage.

Three damage seems reasonable. I'll go down one, two, three. Uh, and that's not great for me, but you know, it is what it is.

Yeah.

Um, then I think that's that. I need I need to build a better hand. Um, and then we are going to again resolve yours, which should have happened in the right phases, but yours also I am going to definitely deal three damage to you because I think it's going to squish you.

Yes.

So, you're going to gain a uh one of these over here, which means your tower is going to lose one health.

Okay.

So, every one of those is going to increase. The next death is going to basically make it so you lose two health, but you are off the board now. So, you're no longer in play.

Put this off to the side.

Sure.

Uh, there we go. That's your character. Uh, which means we now move on to round two. That is basically round one. Uh, we go on to the next phase where again we're going to get rid of Oh. Oh, before I do that, what you did do is you dealt four damage on your turn. So, if you look at that top effect,

a single action unfortunately.

Oh, you didn't do Gotcha.

Yeah, but I did do two damage or move two or two. You choose.

Yeah, it doesn't. I mean, it's the same thing.

It won't make a difference. Yeah. Okay.

Um, but I think I get a thing from that.

Uh, yes. You're going to get one XP.

Thank you.

Um, and then you are going to uh clear objectives. The first thing now is Meg, if you'd like to hand me back my token and put a new objective in play.

Mhm.

And then what's the new objective?

Damage three times in a single turn

for three XP. That sounds fun. Um although it might involve dying. That's the tricky part. Uh then we're going to go ahead and draw cards. So we draw up to our hand size. So I'm going to draw Oh, at the end of your turn, you could have discarded cards if you want to.

Yes. Um,

I'm going to start looking at my cards because I'm going to need to think this through. I have a suspicious lack of something. [snorts]

Okay,

man. This is this is a situation.

Okay. [snorts] And it's you first. Oh, no. We're choosing. So, we should now um

yes,

reset these and slide.

Uh yes. So, now we're going to go ahead and slide. So, yes, looking at our board over here, we're going to slide our action cards. I'm going to get six energy

going up to seven.

I have no exit effect. Um we're going to also deactivate our cards and which we should do already. And then I'm going to prepare a card to play face down.

Okay. And I think um

I have things I want to do, but I don't know the order of things.

I'm going to do this one.

Okay. At that point, we'll go ahead and flip. And we'll see initiative. I'm gaining five. You're gaining one. So, you are going to go first. We're going to flip turn order.

Oh, interesting.

And now you get to go.

Okay. Uh

first thing you'll do is you'll spawn.

Yes. But you can also spawn minions now.

All right. So, I will be spawning here and then I am isolated. So, I'll become flying.

Mhm.

Um, the question is

if you spawn on minions, minions will activate before you do on your turn. You can move through your own allies. Uh, you cannot end your turn on your own allies. Although jumping has an interesting aspect where you can jump on people and fall off. Flying you can't actually. Flying you just kind of have to end in the flight zone. Okay, I know what I want. I know what I want and I know what to do. So, I am going to [sighs] I don't know if I should keep going for this one guy though. That does feel a little crazy. Actually, it's does feel crazy, but I'm crazy. So, I'm going to activate this first.

Okay.

For two.

And then I'm going to move two and push one. So, I will move one, two, and push him that way for one. Okay. And then for my next trick, I will activate this new card, cogs and levers, and that will cost me three. Um, but I can either build uh one of my things, my engrams, or I can gain another

energy.

Energy. Do I want the energy?

I always want energy.

Um, do I have to do that before I do these things?

Uh, build one. I don't believe so.

Okay. So, I think I will.

In general, you can do the actions in any order. The one thing I'm not stressing about is on top.

Okay. I'm gonna go one, two,

just to have move four.

I should also note this is a wall. Uh Meg is able to move over walls cuz she has flight.

And then I did all that to have moved four on a turn.

That seems legal.

Um so I'll get the experience. Uh, please.

Yeah. Speaking of which, you could theoretically have expent your experience next to an upgrade point if you have anything that cost.

I don't have enough. Yeah. And I was wondering if I should if I could get back. Like I could, but is that what I want?

Always a question.

Is that what I want?

Yeah. Generally, you spend experience uh when you are next to upgrade points, which is your starting bases, as well as the neutral one mid zone.

I could give up attacking to upgrade my health.

Upgrading your health is key.

My health is so little anyway. All right, I'm going to just attack cuz it's all I know. Um, so

Well, no. So, I'll build my thing. So, that's going to go here, which will stop him.

Oh, nice. Putting a barrier in place.

Yeah.

Um, cuz I had it from this. Plus, I can also do one per turn. So, actually, I think I'm just going to start stacking these out for when I want them.

Those have two experience, two health, and they could be damaged and they get in my way.

Yeah. Um, okay. So, we'll do that. And then I'm going to get to do a damage, but it's actually two damage cuz I'm flying. Um, and then draw a card.

Two damage over here. One, two. I mean, I need them.

I know you have low health, but I'm like, is this actually annoying?

Like, this guy's going to attack me now.

Unless you move somehow.

Yeah. So, you know, I'm just living with what I got.

You're not living. You're um

dealing with what you got.

I mean, that's the thing. I could have not attack. You know what? I think I'm going to I'm going to have not attacked him. Just dying this end.

Just this once. I'm

It's not that big a deal. If you like manage to upgrade, deal a bunch of damage.

I mean, I guess it does put me back to the upgrade point. Okay.

It saves you the movement. What's the big deal?

So mean.

If I can't kill

I think you're being mean. Um, and then I'm going to draw a card.

I'm honestly not sure. That's what it is. I'm not sure, but you dying certainly doesn't seem like a bad thing to me.

Okay, I think that's all I've got.

All right. At the end of your turn, you have a Did you even attack this minion this turn? Yeah.

So, because of that, they're going to aggro. And this is the interesting part because um they're currently he's on which side? He's on the push or attack side. So, the way this works is he's technically going to move because he technically could try to get to you. This is I might be doing this wrong. I think I'm doing it right. Can't stop. The minions have

he just move toward me.

He can't move onto the the object.

Oh, you're But they can attack the object.

They could, but so the so can't stop, won't stop in particular has the their ideal goal is you. And so to a certain extent, there's rules around engagement around how minions operate and then some degree of agency. For example, the attack or the push is on the other player. That would be me. Uh but can't stop in particular, he wants to move if he can to try to go where he can. So since you technically, and again, this is the part that I'm not sure about is because this is in the way. I'm not sure if it fully counts, but theoretically you can move through. I'm not I'm not entirely sure, but I think he's going to

clear open path or whatever.

Yeah, he's going to try to go one, two, and he has to go the full amount until he's hit something. That's what that goes. And then there he's going to try to attack, but there's nothing for him to attack. That makes sense. You would be the one to attack. That makes sense. You and your object certain extent.

So I think he just moves kind of.

Okay.

Um and then but the next person is the warden of knots is going to attack. Uh and this one over here, there's no reason for him to move. So he's simply going to deal a one damage attack range three with uh shooting over things. It's got um projectile, but it is going to deal one route, which means you move one less the next time you would move.

Okay.

Um although it was only one damage, so you survived anyway, right?

Yes. Oh, so that whole that's that that whole thing was not relevant then.

Yeah.

Okay. Well, not [snorts] not relevant. The death part wasn't relevant.

But I'm close to dying.

Yeah, but you start with two health. You're always close to dying.

Yeah,

until [snorts] you upgrade. Uh to that end, it is my turn to do things. Um I have not figured this out yet. So, give me a second to figure out what I want to do. Um I could push. I think it makes sense for me to push and then land on people. Okay, if you land on an enemy, that deals plus one damage, which is interesting. So, I think you did kind of ruin my plan a little bit because of where you went. Um, but I think let me just think this through. Do I want to try to kill your thing? Not necessarily. My gosh, this is not You kind of messed up my plans. Amelia jumping deal one damage to everything. Okay, I'll do that. So, what I'm going to start with is I'm going to um play this card over here, the way of the adventure. It's going to cost me two energy. Uh, then I can jump two and then immediately that's jumping deal one damage to uh, one enemy. So, oh, interesting. I don't know if that actually works for me the way I want right now. Spend this and then push. Do I want to be crazy? Am I trying to be crazy right now and just deal take damage from everyone? Oh my gosh. Give me one second. I apologize. I'm rethinking through everything I'm doing.

I can move and jump and deal that. I think this one attack with everything. And that specifically is deal three attacks. I don't know if collision damage counts.

It says deal damage.

It says deal

the damage.

That's a damage icon, but I don't know if I don't know if collision damage would count cuz that's an attack icon technically.

Okay, we will go. Okay, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to What's up?

I just meant to discard at the end. All right. So, I spent my two already, but I'm going to spend one more because I'm going to basically play this card. Memories of Val. I can spend one to move before I push. So, I'm going to spend one and I'm going to go here and then I'm going to Okay, I think that makes sense. So, I'm going to do the following. So, I'm going to spend one energy. I move on before I push and then I push by two. So, I'm going to push, which is going to deal two damage to this guy over here. So, we're going to take this over here and we're going to put this into my health stack. And that's number one. Uh then I'm going to spend another two energy. One, two over here. And I'm going to do riot control. Oh, it's three energy. So I won't be able to do it all. Okay, that's fine. I'm going to spend three energy. And I'm going to if I land an enemy, I jump one. If I land an enemy, then my jump, then my attack deals plus one damage. So I'm going to jump onto this enemy. And then I'm going to land back over here. Uh because when you jump onto an enemy, you fall back down onto any adjacent spot.

And then I attack to everyone. But because I landed an enemy, I'm going to deal two damage to everyone around me. So I think I'm going to be killed right now, but I am going to get a decent increase to my health pool. So that's deal four damage in a single attack action. So that's going to be 1 2 3 4. And that's going to let me put my token on the four damage. Actually, I don't put my token. The top card is going to be uh flipped to the other side. So

sorry, which one?

The uh deal two damage. So the top objective top left.

I also did the four one. I thought that they would do it when we reset, but

either way, you're doing this.

Yes.

Okay.

So, that immediately flips. Yes.

Okay. So, the other one should also be immediately flipped. I did move four and I took two. That's right.

Great. So, you flip that. Yeah. Those flip. Those the way those are starting objectives. When you do the the the stronger effect, which is four movement or four attack, you flip it to its opposing side. And then when you do it uh the higher attack on the next side, you discard and replace the regular objective. So, right now, so I got the two objective. I dealt four damage collectively with all that. I have a nice giant health pool over there. And this is where I think I probably die. So, uh, you get to control the enemies attacking me. So, you have two can stop, won't stops.

The other one, this guy doesn't want to attack you.

Uh, no, I've not hurt him yet. He's sitting here in the corner very peacefully. I've only hurt these two guys. Although, I could One second actually. One second. Once per turn, I could move after successful attack. I might want to do that. I think that makes sense. Will it help me? I don't think it'll help me. Never mind. Cool. Cool. Cool. Okay. So, you can go ahead and uh do your things.

I'm tempted that I could have them push you to here and then I can go.

So, this is a void spot so no one can go on it.

Okay.

But if you push me here, I'll take the damage for the part that I can't push.

Yeah. Um I will just I mean either way,

actually, you still could do stuff like that.

Either way, is it enough damage? push me here. Then that one will move here and push me there.

Yeah, but aren't you going to die anyway? How much health do you have?

Uh, I have three health.

Three health. So, like what's I don't know if I can't push you that much without you dying. Push kills you.

A push me with three. Well, one push won't kill me.

The second push kills you.

One attack will kill me. Plain and simple.

Um, okay. I actually do like this.

I because I want to try to kill them. So, I will have the one closer to me push you first.

Okay. So, I'm going to land here and then take two damage because it's a three push. I can't be pushed further. Although, this will deal collision damage to this.

Sure.

Which I actually do not think I think it goes to no way.

Yeah. When you get pushed when you get pushed into an object that takes damage, you will also take damage.

But then I'll have him move this way.

Okay. So, one second. So, let me just do this thing. So, he pushes me, I take two damage. I go down. One, two.

Then he's going to move this way. One, two. Uh,

now maybe I can take him out.

Yeah, you could actually kill me.

No, no, him.

You can kill him later.

His head.

Yeah, you should do that.

And then he'll attack you

and that's going to kill me. So, I will die over here and I'll take come off the board and I will take my own death chip which I'll put over here. And I my health stack reduces by one as well. Okay, that's that.

All right.

Um, that is a turn which means we go to round three.

Did you want to discard anything? Did you?

Oh, yeah. That's a good question. I actually like some of these cards. Do I like enough of these cards? Uh, that one's not as helpful. That one's also not as helpful. That one's definitely not as helpful.

I'm going to move on to drawing.

I will discard all three cards. Okay. Uh, we go to the drawing phase. So, we reset XP cards. We don't have to reset any of the, uh, the objective cards because we only did the basic objectives, leveling them up. Um, then we are going to go ahead and we draw cards. We reset our action cards. So, right now on our boards, we slide these down. Uh, then we're going to slide action cards. So, I'm going to go back up to six over here. Going from one to seven. Um, slide these along. There's no on exit effect. Um, I get to draw one more card to my hand size. And then we can choose what cards to play to prepare.

Interesting. Interesting card. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I like it. Also an interesting card. [sighs] less of an interesting card, but possibly strong.

I'm conflicted. I

I'm not sure what I want to do. That could be that. Yeah. Doing damage to minions is a key part. I might spawn a minion this turn. I think I'm overdue for it.

Okay. So, either way, we should slide these down.

Yes, which I did. So I will gain five.

Okay. I've I've chosen. I guess I've chosen. I've chosen. I've also chosen.

All right. We have to go ahead and flip. I've done a six.

Five.

So you're going first once again.

Oh, okay. I think to start my turn, I'm going to summon a head now. We both have like a lot of health pulled up, so I do think it will be helpful. So, I'm going to summon him and then move him to this spot here. Um, oops. I want him on the other side, though, because he can move to and then he can projectile attack for four damage.

You were one lower. Oh, no. You were there. You were right.

Um, so I'm going to have him do four damage to this warden.

Okay, that's a big chunk of chain.

One, two, three. He's almost gone. Almost. Almost, but not quite. Uh, so we'll do that. Okay. And then now I'm going to go into my actions. And I really have my eyes on the prize. So we are going to let's see the order. I want to do this first. I'll do the will of the matriarch. Um, so that is going to cost me three. I'm just spending everything. Um, but I get to move two and I'm flying. So I will just right to over here. Um and then I will do a piercing attack. So I am able to do it for just one damage because of these but it's plus one at least because I'm flying.

Okay.

So it will be two damage to him.

It's a lot of health slowly depleting.

And then with my final trick I am going to do this but I want to configure myself. I guess it doesn't matter because the other guy won't attack me. Um, so I'm going to activate this for three again. Um, and then I do get to gain one when I activate it. So, we'll gain one back. Um, and then I can move two. Uh, I guess moving four spaces on my turn makes sense because then I can at least get two experience. Um, if I move, I can just go back and forth to move.

Yes. Oh, do we clear?

None of those ones we didn't get. Yeah.

Uh so um I will do that and then this will do a damage but again two damage because of my flying. So I will claim this head.

That seems legit.

He's mine.

Now one thing to note about the minions is we start with an Elder Coleman head that will always keep coming back to us. Although we actually should put him into one of your um little holders to show yours. True.

Uh basically your your minions uh you have a these minion heads. So when you when you kill a minion, you gain the head and then you can spawn it with health. Uh, your Elder Coan head will keep coming back to you. Your other minion heads will not. So, use them wisely cuz once they're gone, they're gone.

Uh, and then finally, I get to draw a card. So, I'll draw just to see uh what I might want to do. And then I think that is everything.

Oh, you done?

Um, yes. So, I do think I will Let me see what I want to discard. Um, I actually that's not too bad. I will discard. Oh gosh. I'll discard this one and this one. I'll discard two. Why not?

I'm going to be crazy. I haven't even figured out what I'm doing, but I think I'm going to be crazy this turn.

And so now my minion attacked him. Yes.

Will he attack?

He's still considered aggro, too. Yes. But he primarily wants to attack you.

Yes.

Okay.

So that's for you to activate.

Uh oh. Right now. So he's going to attack. So he's trying to move to you. He doesn't need to move right now because he has range. So he's simply going to deal one damage with root. Speaking of which, did you deal with the root damage?

Oh, I didn't. But I didn't move to.

Okay.

Oh, interesting. I don't know if I could have done what I did. Isaac, go for it. And we'll

Well, so I think

we'll just put one more rooe on you.

All right. So, he's going to steal one damage and put a root on you.

Okay.

Um and then take a damage as well, which doesn't mean you die. Yes.

Oh, so then you die. So then you lose the route.

Oh, I Okay.

I think I might have died the first time I took the route.

I don't believe I think you died. Your first stack was actually You're right. You're right. So

then you take that over there. you get a second uh D uh death token, which means you lose two health from your tower.

So, your tower is going to reduce by two health.

Okay.

And that just goes away off the side.

Your tower is now down from 14. I think it's 14 to either 12 or 14. There's different game lengths you can play. We're playing the introductory game.

You dealt four movement.

Yeah,

four movement. You got two XP.

Yeah. Thank you. Oh, and I am back at home.

Uh you technically are not back home yet. You spawn next turn.

Yeah. Yeah. I shouldn't be there.

That will matter.

I believe

you're right. All right. And that is everything.

Okay. So, this is where things are gonna get crazy. I think I actually need to think this through. I need to plan this turn out. This going to be a little insane. So, on my turn, I'm going to start with the regular sequence. So, I slide my action cards. Done. Flip. Respawn. So, I respawn. I'm going to respawn, I believe, next to this tower, I think. Okay. Then, I'm going to do the following. Ah, this is this is rough. Immediately after jumping, deal one damage to that. Oh, I might want to spawn I might want to spawn my guy. Yeah, I'm going to spawn my guy because he also has that four damage range attack, I believe. But he also has a push attack which is interesting. But that's going to come with movement. One, two. Do I have enough to do it all? I don't think I do. So, I think I need the range. So, we're going to put him into play as well. Uh, we're going to put him into play with a stack of, you know what, honestly, just one head right now.

He's gonna keep him back. He's going to operate as a little bit of a death agent, so to speak. Just walk out and die. Uh, so he's going to spawn again. I should put my own token around him. And that's going to bring him into play. And then he's going to spawn over here, and he's going to move one, two over here, and then do a projectile attack for four, killing that guy. So that's going to provide four health to my pool and get my get me that head as well. So all set to go there. Then when it comes to my main turn, for my main turn, I will, there's going to be a lot of thinking, so bear with me. I'm going to activate way of the advantier for two. One, two. Uh, immediately after jumping, I can deal one damage to an adjacent person. So I am going to jump two. So I'm going to go um one over here. So one, two over there. And then I'm going to deal one damage to this guy, which is not a bad thing. Gives me another health pool.

Uh, then from there, one, two, three. This is the tricky part. Oh, sorry. Before before I do that, before I do that, I'm going to over here I'm going to uh spend all my experience. So, I have four experience and I'm going to spend it all

to basically upgrade my card. So, I'm going to upgrade this card over here, which once per turn, I can jump uh the amount of distance equal to the amount of red tokens I have on my board. But then I'm going to spend another experience to upgrade it to its B side. So, whenever I activate a card, oh, interesting. Yeah, whenever I activate a uh red card, uh I can go ahead and jump that much. So right now, whenever I activate these two cards to both have that symbol, I can jump the amount equal to my symbols. So by activating this, I can now jump three, which is where I just need to think through whether this makes sense. Whether everything I did makes sense. I can also draw a card from this. So I should do that. [snorts] And the problem is I can go ahead. I think I'm going to do that. So I'm going to go ahead and jump uh landing. So, I'm going to again do a jump. One, two, three. And then I'm going to fall downwards backwards off of this. Okay, I think that makes sense. Um, and then that one's tricky. Oh, no. I'm going to fall this way. I'm going to fall this way over here. Okay. Then for my next card, I'm going to activate this card, which is going to be three. So, I'm going to spend one, two, three. Uh, and that's going to allow me, if I land an enemy, my jump deals plus one damage.

So, I'm going to jump one onto this card over here. Uh, that's going to land on him, which means then I can go ahead and land here adjacently and deal damage to both of them. So, I'm going to deal damage surrounding me. So, two damage to each. So, this guy's going to die and I'm going to get his head. And your guy, I believe, is going to die as well, although I don't get his health. So, he's going to die, too.

You get his head back, but the health is gone. Um, and then that brings me to I can now do another jump if I want, which is the tricky part because I could do another jump, but if I do, oh, my health should be back at full health because I respawned. I think I am not going to choose another jump because as much as that will bring me adjacent to your tower. I don't know. I'm not going to jump. I'm not going to jump again. All right, cool. I'm going to end my turn. That's my turn. And what did I do as far as actions? Um, action-wise, I have deal four damage with a single action. I did that again. So, I'm going to once again take two experience for doing four damage with a single action. That would be my double attack in both directions. Your turn. No, not your turn.

Yes.

Um, that is the round. But, uh, this guy is going to activate now trying to attack me.

And sorry, you got one of the object.

Yes.

Which one?

Uh, the four the four damage.

The four damage. Okay.

Yep.

Okay. Uh, and then this guy's going to attack me. So, if you want to try to activate him.

Sure. I mean, I'll just move him toward you, I guess. I think

Oh, he has two movement or so. Yeah, it's going to have to be one, two. That's the closest you can get to me.

Um, then it's attack is an ore, so he won't attack and move.

Okay.

Okay. We go to next round. Next round, we're going to continue. We are do our thing. We reset the cards. No cards in the market need to reset. We are going to draw to our hand side. Oh, discarding. If you want to discard, this is a good time to do it. [snorts]

I did not. I think I will discard three of my cards and then I'll draw back up. Uh, and then we get to reset our action cards, which we should do. And then lastly, we slide. So, I'm going to get only one experience. Whoa. My gosh, one energy this round. That was a mistake. Uh, and then we choose our cards for the next round.

I will get six. him indeed.

I have chosen my card. I need one moment because I

this is this is it's getting

new but

I think I need to get my minions into play again cuz I'm currently sitting in sitting next to you not loving it.

Yeah. Yeah. Well, watch out. But

yeah, my guy's main main thing is a degree of maneuverability that can be incredibly powerful. Like whenever I activate a red card, I jump equals my red symbols, which is a lot.

Oh, wait a minute. I just remembered how this goes.

It does indeed go that way.

Um

although now that you're saying that

Yeah, I'll still do this.

You okay?

I'm ready.

One second. I'm thinking too. I'm thinking too. Oh my gosh. Do I I'm just me a second here. I I had it all planned out. I had it all planned out. I don't think it's good enough.

You know what? That's fine. That's fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine.

Okay, I'm ready. Um, wait. Yeah.

This is the part where it starts getting a little intense.

I'm ready.

All right, let's flip. I flipped a five.

I flipped an eight.

Oh my gosh.

No, you're going to tell me.

Oh my gosh. I'm going to go first, which I think I already am over there. No, you're green. I'm going to flip that over there. Okay. Um, and now I only have three energy to spend, which is where you get lucky.

Yeah,

that is the tricky part. That is indeed the tricky part because I don't know the best way to handle this given the situation. I could do that. I could do that. I don't like this. I think I'm going to play defensively right now. I am going to uh spend this card over here. So, I'm going to activate this card which is going to give me one, two, three uh defense over there. Um and I think that might be everything. Nope. because now I have three different symbols on my board. 1, two, three. So, I'm going to take the objective. I have three different symbols on your player mat and get two XP. You put my token on the on the token.

Which one?

I have have three different symbols on your player mat.

Oh,

so I have all I have one, two, three different symbols. So, at least I activate that. And all I did is spent my three energy and I gave myself three shield. Just play defensively. I'm not

Yep. I'm not moving. I'm not pushing. I'm not doing anything. The problem is I don't know if we told you this. If I end my turn in the zone with the tower, the tower gets to attack me for three. So, I'm trying to be very particular about not ending my my my turn in the zone with an enemy tower until I'm sure I can do enough damage that it's worth it. And I'm not sure that I can do enough damage that it's worth it.

Just to talk out loud.

If you're going to take that kind of a turn,

that is the kind of turn. I'm just I'm just I'm parking.

I might change.

I'm dancing around. I'm jumping. I'm pacing myself. It's all fine.

All right. I am going to um respawn.

Okay.

In and then I'm going to spawn some minions.

That seems legit.

Um so you are at minions and stuff.

Yeah, you should have. I don't know. Do you want to?

No, it's fine. It's fine. No, no, no, no. I already said enter.

Um I'm not even like that close to you.

I was just thinking through survival. I wasn't thinking through minions spawn. That was a mistake.

I'm going to give three health to this guy and spawn him in. Um here.

He has to spawn next to a tower.

Yeah.

Oh, you're moving.

No, no, no, no. They're next to your spawn tower.

Oh, my tower.

You can move him there if you want.

No, I I was thinking my other thing. I'll put him here. And then I'm also going to spawn can't stop bone stop.

I can't imagine.

I feel like I should spawn him with everything.

Would that be crazy?

It's not. Once he dies, he's dead. So, it's not crazy.

Let's do it. Let's leave one health to bring my other guy back. [gasps] Okay. So, I'm going to spawn him here.

Am I surviving this turn?

I don't know.

I have nine health between my shield and my health, which is a good thing. Your shield as cannot go higher than your health.

Okay. So, now that all that is done, my health is up at two.

Um, and now I will

uh I'll attack with can stop, won't stop for three,

right? Three damage to me. No problem. My shield's gone.

And then this guy is it can I move and attack in either order?

Um, I Yes. Yes, absolutely.

Okay, so I [snorts] will have him throw his projectiles at you for four. I guess it doesn't matter either.

I guess I am dying this turn. I thought I was being all clever, but I think I'm done.

And then I'll go over here for two. Uh, and then I'm going to upgrade. And I'm going to spend four to basically upgrade this one.

Okay. So, you're upgrading your energy accessibility. So, basically, to give you context, she upgraded this and then she upgraded that. You only show the highest one.

Yeah. Um,

you know what? Honestly, having one turn does seem like a good thing.

Okay. the dealing four damage with a single action. That doesn't count for my minions. Correct.

Uh I believe it would. It's still your turn. It's part of the your turn phase.

I think we've been We may have done that previously

in a single action.

Yeah, he attacked for four.

Well, the real question is do you want that? Do you want that one or do you think you can attack once more? [snorts]

No, that I'm stopping here. Although I'm still here. I can continue. I could have spent those as well.

If you are here, yes, you can spend.

So, I'll spend I'll go.

Nice. Okay. So, you're going straight to level three. up the amount of damage you get each round.

I think that's most important to me. And then I'm not going to do anything.

Okay. Okie dos.

Actually, no, no, no. Hold on. Cuz now I'm at plus three. My math is wrong. My math is wrong. I need four

plus three will be next turn to be clear.

Yeah. Yeah. I want to make sure I have enough to do what I want next turn. So if I

I need a discard to my turn, by the way. So, I'm going to go ahead and

Yeah, I think unfortunately it's like so unefficient, but I am not going to do anything.

Yeah.

All right.

Yeah,

I'm discarding this card for my turn.

I mean, I guess killing you is a good idea.

Killing me is a good idea,

but I have a really cool thing planned. I don't know. Let's just see if it works. We'll see if it works. Um, I should have been in flight two when I started when I first spawned. Okay.

Okay.

Is it my turn?

Um, well, that's the end of the round. You went.

Yeah, correct. Is it the next round?

Yes. I'm actually going to discard both of these, though.

All right.

Okay. Next round. We're going to clear the XP card. So, we're going to clear the one that I have my token on. Uh, put a new one out. We're going to draw back up to our hand size.

The new one is deal damage from higher ground.

Oh, interesting.

I wonder if someone does that.

Yes. Well, I wonder flight. flight technically doesn't count as higher ground.

Higher ground.

Yeah, you have you're considered to be the highest ground, but the higher ground would be these tokens over here.

Uh those areas there. So, you got to get to those mountains and do that there. Um I've driven drawn my my turns. Okay, that's interesting. Oh, slide. Sorry. We need to uh do the actions. So, we're going to slide our action cards.

I just drew my cards.

I'm going to get five XP. 1 2 3 4 5.

I would get Oh, I I get four.

You get two whatever. Yeah.

9 10 11. Oh, I see why you wanted that this turn. Okay.

Okay.

Then I need to think through what I'm doing.

What am I doing?

Cuz I think I made a small mistake cuz I wanted the card that I had.

Okay. Um,

interesting. Okay. Oh my gosh, that's interesting.

Wow, this is a little crazy.

How much health do you have?

Uh, two.

Okay, that could be that. Could be that. But then I can't do that. And I'm not next to an upgrade point, so I can't do that. This is This is the rough part of trying to think this through. I could do that, but I can't do that. Okay, [sighs] this is going to take a lot of brain power, but I'm going to figure it out.

I respect that very much. Okay, this is so rough. I think I have to do this even though it's not the best. Okay, I've I've gone. I It is what it is.

I am ready.

Okay. Oh, I've been I've not been doing one of my abilities.

I'm sorry.

It's okay. It's okay. It's my my whole my whole thing is this, but I forgot to do it.

Okay.

Okay. Uh we're going to reveal.

I have a three.

I have a four. No. No, no, no. You're going before I do. Go ahead.

Ah, this is going to be insane.

Yes, it gets harder and harder. It gets hard.

I don't know. This is going to be crazy. What are you doing? What are you doing?

You understand? I don't understand. That's why I'm saying 10.

Okay, let's see if I can do this all correctly.

Um, I'm going to

Did you have Oh, you have 11 energy. I do.

I didn't do anything last turn and I upgraded this.

Um, [snorts] so wait, first my minions attack.

Yes.

So I will attack you for four.

Well, I'm going to die as soon as you do that.

So first So you mean this guy's dead. He's gone. Um, I go off the map. I take a death token.

I'll have him have attacked you then cuz I want to move him.

And then I'm going to move two XP for my tower. Two health from my tower.

Okay.

Okay. Our towers are tied once again.

Um, okay. I will at least be spawning for some things. That's nice.

This is so crazy. All right. I have to figure out like doing this correctly, but I can.

All right. So, cuz I can just do a normal attack to your thing. Correct.

Yeah. If you if you're close enough.

Okay. So, I'm going to play this relic over here for one. So, I'm now at 10. Oh, well, I'd be at 10. Okay. So, now I just have to math this out.

Are you moving four? It looks moving.

I'm moving so much. So I'm going to spend four to do this. Uh so I'm at 10. So I'll be at six. And um if in flight the damage hits multiple things and then exit, but I don't even want to hit other things. Um I guess I have to fly around things. That was something I

But flying doesn't have to be a straight line. So you're fine.

Yeah, I'll have him have ended there though because I'm moving three. So, I will go one, two, three.

Okay.

With this.

Um, but see how it says if in flight the damage affects everything around in the exit if I'm not attacking it. Okay.

All right. So, then next I'm going to activate this one for three.

One, two, three.

Um, which is uh I'm going to be able to move two of the thing though. Gosh, I really have to fly around everything. to a certain extent.

Um, okay. So, I'll go one, two. Uh,

then you're going to deal damage of how much? What's the total symbols you have? You have one. It looks like

one. Two.

What's the two?

One. One. My red one's gone.

Okay.

So, one damage to there.

All right. So, you're going to lower that minion by one.

Okay.

So, your health goal.

So, he's aggro, which is interesting. Um, but then this is if in flight, repeat the movement and then exit flight.

Okay.

So, I'll exit my flight, but I get to move two more.

Two more. You can move again.

Oh, no.

Is that enough to get where you need to go?

I think so. Because if I'm isolated, I enter flight.

Yes.

So, I will go one, two, Whoops.

with your base.

Whoops. To here.

Okay. [snorts] But you won't be [screaming] isolated there. these voids.

Could you have moved with this first or

so this

if in flight increase that

this entire thing

by the number? That's how my last turn went by the way. I thought I was going I thought I was going to do like five damage to your tower. It did not happen.

Yeah.

If in flight increase damage by the number of spaces you move towards the target with with movement.

So here's the thing. If I had slotted this here, I think I could have done all of this. So I don't mind not attacking him. I really don't. So, put the damage back.

Um, we'll put the damage back and we'll just math this out because I spawned. Correct.

Yes.

So, if I spawned Okay, I'm just going to count it out first. So, if I spawned, I could have gone 1 2 3.

Exit flight.

1 2 3.

Yep. But you're not in flight right now.

Yeah.

Um, but that's okay because I would have done that.

Yes.

Done. Then this one I can go one, two,

damage two for one.

Yes. Okay. So, you're damaging me for one instead. So, I'm dying.

Okay. There was a way to mask this out. Thankfully,

you have a lot. It's

Well, you're going to see how much of a lot.

Okay.

So, I'm finally here.

Yeah.

I'm isolated, so I won't enter flight.

And then finally, I'm going to activate this card for two. If in flight, increase my attack by the number of spaces I moved towards the target with flight.

Oh, I guess that wasn't all of my movement.

You thought you going to do nine damage to me? Oh my gosh.

I I passed last turn cuz I thought that was going to be so cool.

That would be a very cool turn. It's just two unless you have other abilities.

Yeah, but I'll move in and do it, I guess.

Okay, so you're going to go uh one, two over here, I guess, and deal two damage tower.

So, I guess three cuz I am in flight.

If in flight, why

I am in my flight gives me plus one damage. Does it does plus on movement

damage?

Oh, yes. Yes, you're correct. You're correct. I

just regular damage.

Y

I don't know if any of that was worth it cuz now you're going to just kill me back.

I mean, three damage to a tower is not a small.

I did do this at least. I did the more than six spaces.

You did move forward more than six. You get three experience. That's not That's nothing. And the card that car is going to go away on the turn.

Yeah.

Okay. Not the turn you wanted.

Not as cool as I thought, but it was fine.

It's fine. Fine. Fine. Okay. I'm going to spawn a horde of minions, [snorts] I think, because you have how much health?

Two.

Two.

All right. So, I'm going to go now. I'm going to start with my minion spawn phase. So, I respawn my my character first. Um, I'll go ahead and pop over. Actually, maybe I will pop uh interesting cuz because my spawn point's blocked, I will be able to spawn past it. You can expand outwards. So, I'm going to spawn there with the first one. I'm going to spawn with my elder commen or my You know, you only have you have two health. I'll spawn with my elder commen over here. So, he's going to come back with just one health. I think that's I think spawning with one health, letting him die is a nice way to suck up damage and not worry too much about things. So, he's going to come into play over here.

Um and he's going to be able to do four damage once he moves. We'll figure that out. Uh then I'm going to spawn my warden of knots or my can stop won't stop. I'll I'll spawn can stop won't stop with a nice chunk of health. Not everything because hey, who cares if he dies? It's fine. I want him to come to play and uh do what he needs to do. Um, he's going to deal three damage, it looks like. So, he's going to spawn over here, even though it's further away from the tower. We can do that now that that spawn point is blocked. Um, and then I'll leave Warden of Knots alone for right now. Uh, so my minion active phase, what I'm going to do is I'm going to have Can Stop One Stop move three. So, at least as far as he can, which will be one, two, and then deal three damage to this guy. So, we're going to deal three damage. Uh, one, two, three. That's going to go to my health pool. Uh, but now he's aggro towards me. Uh, with my elder flown over here, I'm going to move two going through my my guy just so he can get out onto the board. Uh, but it's going to deal uh four damage attack to you in flight. So, I believe you'll die

unless you have anything special.

Mhm.

Uh, which means you're going to get a death token and deal three damage to your tower.

Okay.

So, your tower is going to do three damage. Um, and that brings me to my main action with uh my guy, which is why I need to figure I'm doing because I don't have enough space. I don't have enough to do everything at all. Um, but what I can do,

so I think technically this would be gone now.

Yes, technically it goes away at the end of the round in theory. I could still deal deal

at the end of the round.

Yeah, strictly speaking, but it's the beginning of the next round where they come out. So, it's I could still theoretically do that, but I don't think I am. Okay,

we have deal damage from higher ground. We have damage three times in a turn. And then we have deal four damage. So, if I already did damage twice, I might try to do that one. So, then we have the following. One second. If you move to higher ground, that's not relevant to me. I don't think it matters. I think what I'm going to do Oh, I'm starting next to here, so I have four XP to spend. That's interesting. Oh, rip, rip, rip, rip. That could be useful. I don't have enough XP to do everything I want, but I think I will spend two XP. I can move after accessible attack. That is pretty useful. All right, I'm going to uh spend two XP over here and I'm going to bump up my XP my my this over here cuz I think I need it. Honestly, you know, I'm going to do it twice. I feel like I've really needed that. So, I'm going to do what you did and just bump up my energy gain.

So, we're going to flip this over here. So, I have that. Uh then I'm going to activate Crooked Climber over here for three. Going one, two, three. Uh because it's a red card, I can jump one. So, I'm going to do a jump one when I activate a red card, [snorts] which is that enough? Yeah, cuz I'm going to jump onto my own guy, land on the opposing side, and then I can move. If you move to higher ground, I don't think this matters. I'm going to do it anyway, I guess. But whatever. We're going to go ahead and move over. Do I want to

I don't I don't know either because I think I'm going to do it because it'll give me the experience. That's That's good for

So, I'm going to jump over here. I'm going to move over here. Moving through my Oh, I can't move.

They're not yours.

Yes. So, if I change the order of that, so if I'm going to slightly change the order of that, I will have moves with him, which I'll go through my own guy. Then, I'm going to attack him. So, that's going to deal one damage to this guy. So, he's down to one, which is enough that unfortunately he's still attacking back, which I do not love. But, I don't think there's a way to change that. Um, and then I can go ahead and jump. So, I'm going to jump on him, which will land me over here. Uh, over there. And then over there. I've now dealt I've dealt three time three times in a turn. So I'm going to put my marker on that one and take three XP which could be relevant because I'm now next to a upgrade point. So I could theoretically use that for another upgrade if I want. Um and I'm not ending my turn next to adjacent enemy units. I could do that for jumping. I think the jumping is a key part of my strategy.

So, I think I'm going to spend 2 XP to upgrade this card, which lets me uh whenever I jump, I can immediately do an attack inflicting one route. So, I can basically slow down enemy units, which isn't huge. Do I care about that?

Where should your health be at?

Oh, my health should be at six. Thank you for reminding me. Okay. Yeah, I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that. Whenever I jump, I'm going to deal uh whenever I jump, I can uh inflict a route. Okay. Now, that is my turn. I'm going to choose to discard any cards. I think I'm going to discard all of my cards, actually. And now I'm ready to go.

Okay.

Um, this guy over here is going to try to attack me, but I don't think he can. So, he can because he can't, he's can attack any of my allies. So, you can choose how to move that or can or do that.

Um,

oh, actually, he has range attack. I lied.

Okay, he'll range attack you.

He has a range attack for for one damage.

So, I think he has to try to attack me actually. and it's going to inflict root to me.

Okay.

So, it's going to deal one damage to me and inflict root.

Okay.

Okay. Okay. Indeed. It is time now to go to the next round where we can continue resetting XP cards. So, we clear the XP cards. We're going to clear the objective, put out new objectives if you want to do that.

Um,

we draw cards to your hand size. So we have end of turn five plus spaces away from the starting position and deal five plus damage using a single card.

End of turn five spaces away from starting position. Interesting.

Okay.

Interesting.

I will draw two.

Okay.

Oh, from where you started I assume means

yes you're starting like I think it was that turn. Time to think through. Oh, slide. We're going to slide down. So, we're going to slide our cards down. I'll get six XP. Going to eight. Uh, no. I got two more. Going to 10 cuz I have the plus two over here. And then we choose our cards.

Um,

okay. I will get eight. I need to think through this as usual. Oh, I should have done that. Deal damage. Deal five damage using a single car. That's rough. That is very hard.

I have chosen. Okay. I have also chosen.

Ready to flip?

Yeah.

We're going to flip our cards. I'm going I have a three.

I have a zero.

You are definitely going first.

Okay. Okay. I just got to math this out again.

It's It's a challenge.

So, we'll do that. Um, so I am going to uh respawn. So, I will spawn here. And I have no minions to spawn, but I do have these guys. So, the question is, if I'm there, I can go one, one, two, three. Okay. So, I'm going to go with this guy. One, two.

Okay.

And then have him throw a thing at this guy.

That will do it. You get the health and you get the

Okay. Um, oh, while I'm still there, I'm going to spend four of these. Um, and I'm going to flip these over. I don't know if it's a good idea, but you know,

I Well, so for whatever it's worth, I was regretting not doing that last turn. I think I made a mistake.

I'm going to do just one. And cuz this activates it immediately for me.

Yes. What ability are you getting? If in flight, I can move once per turn. A free move if I'm in flight.

I think it's just Oh, interesting. Once per turn. Yeah.

Yeah. Just one. Like literally one move. Um but I am in flight cuz I am alone.

So I am going to I'm going to

Oh my gosh, I keep forgetting my abilities. It's so much.

Okay, I'm going to use my special thing to move one. Yep.

Oh, sorry. I meant to have moved him just forward.

I wanted to start getting his roll rolling. Um, okay. So, I will move one with this and then I'm going to activate this. [gasps] Um, so I will pay four. One, two, three, four. Um, and I get to move three. So, I'll go one, two, three.

Are you attacking me?

I am.

Why would you attack me? Um, I'm going to attack you for this. So, I have 1 2 3 4 plus my flight, which is five.

Five damage. That's not bad. I think I'm dead.

Yeah,

that's that's not what I expected to happen on this turn. Okay. Well, I died. That's going to be a third death.

Actually, you know what?

Well, before I take off the water, are you doing

No. So, I could have flown to there.

Yeah.

And lost flight to also attack the thing. So, I think I would

Where's there? Um, cuz I was here, I could go one, two, three.

That's a void. You can't end a void.

Oh, okay. Then then I win.

Okay. So, you deal five damage to me, which I think gets you that experience card.

Yes. I'm just thinking cuz I could have moved two and then three. Um,

you tell me.

I think I do want to do that. I think doing that damage there is worth it. So I will um have activated this just for the flight part to have gone to have gone one two

and one

and then one two three.

Okay. And then cuz that way it'll do five damage to him as well.

I exit it for this.

Okay. So you did how much damage to him?

Five.

Five. What do you mean attacks?

Because it's that same attack. It makes it range.

That is insane.

I have to lose flight but it's range. That's why that makes sense why you did that.

Yeah, it makes a lot of Oh, it's only at one left.

Yes, one left.

Oh my gosh.

Okay.

Well, I guess I have to kill it.

You do have to kill it. Can you kill it now?

Oh, you can kill it now.

It has one health if in flight. Repeat one action on this card. Exit flight. Um, yeah. So, I can't use that ability, but I can just do this. So, I will spend one, two to just attack for one, and then I become isolated. So, I'll enter for flight.

My gosh,

that was

my gosh,

that was actually a little crazy.

Um, I take a token, a death token. Um, and then deal three damage to my tower.

Okay,

my tower is at three health left, which I do not love.

And then, so now, [snorts]

yeah, initiative matters in this game.

Did I [clears throat] deal six damage with a single action? I did because I did five and five. So, I would get this one

if you prefer that one. It's five or six. I think it feels like completionist to be discarding the original.

All right, you got your three XP.

Okay. Yes, please.

Cuz you did 10 damage in the single action, which is a little insane.

Okay, started my turn. I used

this one is move three thrice in a single turn,

which is not on my list of things I thought was happening this turn. Um

Oh, actually, I could have used this movement though. Can I just move one way further away?

It won't save you right away.

You are going to die, but at least you did a little.

I'll make you go a little further. Okay, so he goes over here. Um, I have my XP, my my energy. I mean, um, your guy can do that and your guy can do that. So, you don't have any defense things that I don't know about, right? If I deal two damage, you're going to die.

Yeah.

Okay. [snorts] So, what I think makes sense, uh, given that, I think we're going to do the following. So, I'm going to move that is a range to attack.

I might have just [clears throat] wanted to discard at the end.

Sure. Sure. Of course.

Um I think I will go ahead and spawn my warden of knots because I see no reason not to. Um we're going to pop him into play just so he can start being annoying and get in your way.

I will pop him into play with two health.

He's going to head over here. Um, and then I'm going to

play with all that health before.

Um, well, my my Elder Coleman, he's he's strong if he keeps coming to play. But I agree with you that the problem is my ward of not not strong enough. My Elder Coleman, I kind of wish I had stacked him up now to send your way.

Um, it's a weird balance of he soaks up an attack, but he can't get to your zone cuz he'll keep getting stomped very quickly.

I don't We'll see if it was the right move. I'm not confident it was.

I We'll see.

Um, then in this zone over here, that is that zone, which is important to note cuz it's own zone. So, I think what we can do is we have to activate with minions first. That guy's going to go there. Is that enough? Give me a second to just math this all out. That goes there. That goes there. I need more movement right now. That's the problem. I could do that one, I guess. Okay. So, we're gonna go ahead and go. So, we're gonna have this guy go. He's going to go one, two, and then he's going to deal four damage to this guy over here because he has a a projectile, four damage attack, which I believe will kill him.

Okay.

Okay. So, he's gone. That's one less ally on the board, which is important for well, survival. Uh, then we're going to spend some energy. I will spend this over here. One, two. Well, sorry. He has 10. So, we have seven. Um, and we'll activate this card, which is if I move to higher ground, I'm not going to be doing that. I am going to be doing a a jump. So, I can jump with this. Actually, I have to do the other round. I'm going do a move, then a jump because I need to do that. Well, actually, actually, I don't have to. So, I'm going to activate this card, which going to let me jump to over here to this zone. Then, I'm going to use my once my ability once per turn, a movement can become a jump. And I'll use that with this card, which I don't think actually makes a difference the order I did that in, but basically just trying to end over here. Um, then, um, I don't know if it matters. I think we'll change that slightly. So, I will have gone a regular jump. Then I'll do a regular move from here to here. Then a jump to over here. Not activating any other abilities. Then I'm going to spend two to activate this card. One, two. Um, and I'm going to do a movement and an attack, but I'm going to turn this movement into a jump, which means I can land on him and go next to here.

And we actually haven't really been ending next to the spawn point, but that will actually matter now.

Uh, so then I'm going to go ahead and do a two ranged attack. So I have two symbols on the board. So, it's going to be number of symbols, damage out of two projectile. I'm going to attack you for two, hopefully killing you.

Yeah,

that's going to give you a death token and your tower is going to go down by four.

Okay.

One, two, three.

And that is my entire turn, I believe.

Okay.

Okay.

Oh,

and I had I had a root, but I died before, so that does not matter.

Okay.

Okay. Indeed. I think I am done. My health should be at six over here. I did not do that.

Try that one, too. And I'm good to go.

All right.

Oh, card discard. That's a good question.

Yeah,

I will discard all. All right, next round. Uh, wait, did I do anything? Did I do anything?

End of turn five spaces away from the starting zone. I started here. 1 2 3 four. That's not enough. Um, move thrice in a single turn. That's a movement, right?

Mhm.

Um, did I do a movement? I don't know if jump counts for that, so I don't know.

Deal damage move action.

I know, but jump but move. Jumping is a separate action.

I think it is.

That's the thing. I would argue that I did not move three times. So, I actually got no experience this turn, which is kind of a bummer.

Sorry.

That is kind of a bummer.

I deal damage from higher ground. I did not.

Not at all. Okay. Uh we go next round. We go ahead. We don't reset any cards. Uh we go ahead and we also Isn't that the one you just revealed anyway?

Yes.

Yes. Okay. We draw our cards, which means I'm going to be shuffling cuz I only have two cards to draw.

Then we reset action cards if we need to, which I already did. We slide action cards. So, I am going to go ahead and do that after I finish drawing here.

Okay. I will get 11

and I'm going to go from five to 10. Oh, no. I got two more. I have to remember that. Okay. Uh then I go ahead and I look at my hand.

I have chosen.

This sounds really cool. I feel like

there's a lot of cool things. This is Yeah, one of the things we'll we'll talk more about this in the preview if you check that out, but there is a four-player mode where you have two heroes against two heroes. There's also kind of a free-for-all, kill bunch of minions kind of mode, which scores differently. Um, there's also deck building. So, you're only seeing one small slice of what this game does, but effectively it's a MOA game. Uh, these Trials, the similar to Trials, where we take control of our heroes, our minions, and try to ultimately uh decrease the opponent's tower. And also, this is the shorter game. In theory, you could add more health to the towers to play a longer game, which will allow you for even more turn to build up your characters and how much health they have and all that. Like my character's board, even though I have health upgrades in theory, uh, one of the recommendations is you don't necessarily need to bother with that. Although, honestly, having 15, can you imagine if I have 15 health? Yeah, that'd be crazy. Be scary.

It just means Oh my gosh.

I'm flying around you at that point. But

yeah, but I I want to kind of wait into your There's a lot of ways you can play this. Anyways,

are you ready?

Time to flip.

I had decided, but now I'm realizing.

Yeah. Okay, I'm good with it.

I have a one.

I have a four.

So, I'll be going first.

I think that's okay.

Well, I don't know if I can actually end this or not. I my hope was maybe I could, but I don't actually know if I can.

Um I think maybe I can.

Maybe I can. Okay, so I'm going to start with uh minions basically. So first of all, minions can go. This guy's going to go ahead and move uh one two through here and then deal four damage to that guy.

Okay,

so my elder come. Slowly make my way towards your base. Take out your minions. Um then I'm going to activate way of the Aventer, which is going to be two, I think. I think it's over. I do think it is. So, I'm gonna spend 10 going out from 10 to 12 to 10.

Uh, I'm going to jump two. So, I'm going to jump onto him, which lead land one after him.

Uh, technically I deal one damage to everything adjacent. So, I deal one more damage to him.

Okay.

But then the real kicker is elite security where I'm going to spend another two going down to eight. Uh, then I get to move one and after ending my movement. Oh no, that was down. Oh no, that was down. After ending the movement, uh, I can get adjacent to an enemy, I can gain defense, but that's not relevant because now I'll deal two damage attack to your tower.

Why is it two damage?

Uh, because I have Oh, no, it's not. I think it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter.

So, you're going to attack again.

Yeah, it's going to be So, it is only one damage. I messed that up. But then I can spend three. One, two, three, and do this card cuz last turn is two. It was two. This turn is only one. And I can do another one damage with this, which is exactly the last damage I need to take her tower down from two to zero.

Good job.

That's the game. That is a gameplay of Trials Amaya. Check out the preview on the channel uh if it's up already. If it's not, then um check it out when it comes up uh to cover the various game modes. Uh it's going to be a mobile tower style moa the the hero attacking minions, all that kind of thing. Moba skirmish game. That's the word. Moba skirmish game from uh from what's it called? From a department of lore. And I guess until next time, I'm Alex from Board Gameco. I'm Professor Me.

Have a good one. Bye.
