UNBOXING: Finspan Sharks & Reefs Expansion

Hello everyone. Welcome to the mill. My name is Molly and today we'll be unboxing Finsspan Sharks and Reefs, the first Finn expansion for Finsspan, of course. Um, let's have a look at the outer box and then we will dive right in. So, we have designed by Michael Okonnell, developed by David Gordon and Elizabeth Hargrave, art by Anna Maria Martinez and Catalina Martinez. This is a not too big of a box. I'm just going to talk about it while I show off the sides. It's a pop tab kind. I took the ceiling plastic off already. Um, one of these boxes that I'm going to put into the main box and not need to keep this one. Space is limited.
Um, let's pop it open and how they look inside. Some stuff might be shuffled around a bit. I had a peek without touching anything too much, but we have a rule book. The rule book is of course inv available online. So, we're not going to go too deep into it, but one of the things I peaked at was where the play testers were listed cuz I like to show that off. And that is here on the back. Then we have the solo book, the not to. I have not played Finnspan solo, but Carol will take care of us in that regard. Oh, look at that friend on the back. Okay, we have a new Oh, I like this for four cards and stuff in the middle. Um, nice classic Stone Meer plastic insert.
We have the coral tokens. Some in each color. Each of the three colors there are. I'm going to open this off screen. Okay. So, 30 of each of these blue ones, purple ones. They look like little brains. and some green ones. I love coral reefs and my sister loves sharks, so we're gonna have a good time. You know what? Let's just get right into the cards. Here we go. Okay, let's have a look. Um, let's peek. Oh, these aren't all fish cards. Let's We have solo cards.
We'll go through those first.
That's not going to work. Oh, these are all the same. Oh, these are player aids. Fun thing about unboxing is you don't know what you're getting into. Um, you can't open things and peek. And I like to show the experience of not knowing how a game's going, especially when I'm deciding how to fit things in the box. You want to go on the intuition. These look like some more starting cards. Maybe there's some cool ones. Oh, there's our friend from the the Natima bag.
Okay, let's uh open this one. And hopefully it's the rest of those cards. And we'll do them together. All right, we're back. We got fishy cards. There's 75 of them total, I think, plus the five starter ones we just saw. So, let's go through it. We're going to see a lot of sharks, I'm guessing.
Okay, there we go. I'm going to uh put those there. We have some coral reef overlays. They're a nice thickness. Let's make sure they're
just always want to make sure things are not different before I breeze through them. I've missed a few unique things that way before. We have a score pad. And now one punch board with an achievements board side A, side B, and then let's not put that upside down. Three achievements.
Pop those out. Huck that in my recycling. And that's everything. So, last thing I'm gonna do is show you how I fit it all in fins van. So, see you in a minute. And we are back, everyone. Um, not much to this one. Lots of room. Still not as crammed as my uh worb band box yet. I have notably this old tray not being used. I'm going to save it. Old score pad and old um achievement board are out. Let's have a look. We got rule books. I put the coral tokens in the new tray for now. That could change as I play.
It'll really take playing to decide for me. Score pad. I got upgrade components fit. I still have the old components. solo cards, which when I run out of space, sometimes these don't make it, but they're still in player tokens. We have the new achievement board, first player references. When I dig through, I will probably put the five other references in here. Haven't done that yet. And then we have the boards underneath. And that's it. Everything fits great. And I didn't feel like I had to solve any puzzle to get there so far. So put it all in in real time.
