Oasis: New Life on A Distant World - Teach & Playthrough
Transcript
Hi everyone, my name is Money
and I'm Naveen from Before You Play
and today we're going to be playing through a game called Oasis: New Life on a Distant World.
Yes, this game is designed by three different designers and published by the OP who are helping sponsor this playthrough. Now, in this game, players are in control of a distant world known as Oasis who are trying to populate it with alien species and ultimately try to score the most amount of points while also taking into consideration there's going to be an annual flood trying to wipe out our species, but whoever can manage this the best will be the winner.
That's right. This is a hand management game for one to five players that plays in about 60 minutes in which players will need to play various alien species cards to the surface area and our subterranean areas of our biome board. Try to maximize the scoring effects and also gain imprint tokens in order to score the most amount of points by the end of the game. And so today, as usual, we are going to start with a teacher of the game and go straight into a two-player playthrough. If you'd like to jump around, we'll include timestamps in the description below. Now, if you'd all do us a big favor and turn on your cling on subtitles so if you make mistakes, we can add corrections there or in a pinned comment. And lastly, if you like these kind of videos and you want to see more in the future, please consider subscribing. And with that, we are ready to begin. So, if you please direct your attention to the center of the table, we're all set up here for a two-player game of Oasis, New Life on a Distant World. Welcome to Oasis.
And so, like we're mentioning in this game, players are trying to populate Oasis with various alien species. Now, aliens in this game are either going to be surface creatures or subterranean creatures. And so, surface aliens will be played to the surface area of your biome board, and the subterranean ones will be played below. Regardless of the creature type, each alien will have an immediate effect, as well as a specific way in which they score. And so, over the course of the game, our goal is to basically try to play as many of them as possible before the end of the round because each year, an annual flood will also occur, wiping out a lot of our subterranean species. We're also going to be collecting these imprint tokens to try to fill up this side of our board, which will also score us points. And at the end of the third round, whoever has the most points will be the winner. Now, before we talk about how a turn works in the game, let's just take a look at an example of one of each type of species.
Here we have a surface alien and a subterranean alien. And the difference is that subterranean aliens have an imprint icon at the top of their card and they are played to the subterranean areas of your biome board. The surface aliens on the other hand require two specific imprint symbols to exist in the two lower slots of the biome board before they can be played. So, in this example, if I wanted to play the reef chull, I need to have a pink shelled symbol on one side and another one on the other side. And when playing them, you're just going to follow the cracks on your board. Basically, to indicate which two slots you need to have those imprint symbols in order to play the surface card.
So, each subterranean species can actually supply its symbol to two different surface species,
right? And each player will start the game with three of these subterrain cards with one of each of the three main types of imprint symbols. There are more imprints in the game. But these are the three that you will need in order to play these surface cards. Now, you may notice that at the very center of your board, you also have each of those three main types of imprints shown. And that's because this slot is considered to be a wild as long as it's not covered up by a different card. And so, the way that the game works is the game is played over the course of three rounds. And each round, starting with your first player and going clockwise, on your turn, you're typically going to play a card from your hand. Now, there is another type of action you can take, which we'll discuss later, but a majority of the time, you're going to try to play as many cards as possible. Now, in playing a card, you'll choose a card from your hand. And if it's a subterrain card, you'll play it face up to any of the available slots in the subterrain area of your biome board. And if it's a surface card, you'll play it to an available slot in the top half of your biome board, as long as its requirements are met. Each card has an immediate effect which you'll resolve immediately.
And so in the case of this mod route,
this says you draw one card and then discard a card. Anytime you draw a card in the game, you'll choose between the surface or the subterrain deck, your choice. In addition, each card also has a scoring effect, which is the symbol at the bottom right hand corner. And these effects are only resolved at specific times in the game. As an example, this card will score you two points when you rest. But that's it. As soon as I've played a card and resolved everything on it, then it goes to the next player in clockwise order. Because on your turn, if you choose to play a card, you're only playing one card. Now, if on my turn I choose to play a surface card, I can either play one from my hand or I can choose to play one from one of the three face up cards in the migration row. But again, as long as I'm able to meet the imprint requirements that are at the bottom of the card. So, let's just say as an example, it's back to me and I wanted to play this Zarvora card from my hand. This card requires me to have a yellow scaled imprint at the bottom left and a green flora imprint at the bottom right, which I have here because again, this starting space here is considered wild as long as I don't cover it up with a card. And then I've played a card to its right that has the green imprint at the top right there. So then playing this card to this slot is legal. And similar to the subterrain cards, the surface cards also have an immediate effect which you would then resolve. And in the case of this card here, this allows me to gain one imprint token of my choice. Now, in this game, there are three main types of imprints, the green, yellow, and the pink. And anytime I gain an imprint token, you'll take one from the supply, and you'll place it into this area, this grid area
here of your biome board, starting from the very top. This area here can only hold at most four of these three types of imprints. But at the end of the game, each imprint token will score you one point. You also score the points on the right hand side here for each row you've completed as well as the points at the bottom for each column you've completed. So, you really want to try to gain as many of these as possible.
In addition, at the end of each round, we're going to compete to see who has the most number of these imprint symbols showing across our cards on our biome board as well as our imprint tokens. And the player that does will gain these trophies worth five points each.
Yeah. So gaining these imprint tokens and putting the right combination of cards in play is going to be very important for those trophy scoring.
And finally, just like these subtrain cards, these surface cards also have these various types of scoring effects that again you'll only resolve when it says to. In the case of the cards that have the moon symbol, again, that is only when you take a rest action. Some cards such as this subterrain beck bug over here have a scoring effect that you actually resolve when the card is played. And so that's that downward green arrow. This would score me two points whenever I play it. Mhm.
Other cards such as Leelon over here that has the red arrow will only score me these points when the card is cycled out. And so some cards in the game, such as this one over here, will give you an immediate effect that allows you to cycle out any specific card from your biome board. In the case of this card, this allows me to cycle out any subterrain card, gaining me three points. And anytime you cycle out a card, you're basically just taking it from your board and discarding it. So that is the definition of cycling out a card. And so sometimes that is a good thing. Like with this Leelon card over here that has a cycle out scoring effect. If ever I'm able to cycle out this card, this card is going to gain me three points. And finally, the last type of scoring effect you'll see are cards such as this that have the blue arrow.
And this is whenever a card is removed from your biome board, specifically due to the flood that occurs at the end of the year. That is when you'll gain whatever the benefit is. And in this case, this is that yellow imprint token.
So, as you can see, you have to play the right combination of cards onto your board, being mindful of the different symbols. And also, it's not a bad thing to get cards discarded because sometimes you score points when you do. Uh, this particular one wants to score when you rest. So, maybe you don't want to discard this card so that you can actually score points, right? But speaking of cycling out cards, instead of playing a card on your turn, you can take the other type of action which allows you to discard a card from your hand in order to cycle out a card. And it is just as the action states. You're going to discard a card from your hand in order to cycle out a card from either the surface or the subterrain area of your board and basically discard it out and gain points if it has a cycle out effect.
Yeah, you might want to do that because you want to make space for another card that you've acquired somehow. Maybe there's a subterranean card that's in its way, so you can't actually put it into play. So, this would be a good way to get it out.
And to be clear, the imprint requirements for these surface cards only need to be met when you play the surface card. So, if ever you choose to cycle out the bottom subterrain card that made it true, it does not affect the surface card above it. Now, the last thing is that in the subterrain deck, you'll also find these decay cards. They have a gray imprint at the very top, and they basically serve as a wild for meeting the requirements of these surface cards. The only thing is that they don't provide you any imprint symbols at the end of the round for scoring these trophies, as you'll see. And you're not allowed to place a decay card next to another decay card. So, just keep that in mind. Now, on your turn, instead of playing a card or discarding one to cycle out another card, you can choose to rest. So, you might want to do this if you have no more cards to play or you just choose to end your round because after you rest, you're not going to be able to take actions for the rest of the round. When you rest, you're going to take the top rest tile from the display, and there's going to be a number of these equal to the number of players. The first player to rest will also take the first player token, so you'll be going first in the next round. At this point, you will then score all of the points on the cards that are still in your biome that have the moon symbol because those are the scoring effects that take place when you rest. You'll then get to draw five cards. And again, when drawing cards, you get to decide which decks to draw from.
You can even draw a card, look at it, and then make a decision as to which deck you want to draw from next.
But keep in mind that during this part of the round, you have an eight card hand limit max. Yep.
And so, if you have more than that, then you have to discard down. This is the only time that you have that eight card hand limit. any other times in the round is you can have more than that.
Fair game.
But once it's done, then the next player in clockwise order goes who hasn't passed yet. Now, if it goes back to you in turn order because other players are still in play, then each time it's your turn again, you score one point. And in this game, whenever we score points, we're going to keep track of them on our scoring uh counters here.
Mhm.
And once all players have taken a rest action, then the year ends and the flood begins. First, we're going to award these three trophies. And it's in this order. First, it's the pink, followed by the green, and then the yellow. And again, each of these trophies will be awarded to the player who has the most number of those symbols on your biome cards, as well as your imprint tokens. And these can be found at the top of your cards as well as at the top lefthand corner.
Now, the precursor symbols that you see at the bottom of the surface uh species, those do not count towards this trophy scoring. That is just purely for how you get them in play. If there's ever a tie for a particular trophy, then it's the player who has the least amount of points will get it.
And once all three trophies have been awarded, then the flood arrives. And basically, players will need to discard all of their uh subterranean alien species because they get wiped out by this horrendous flood. Although, players may be allowed to retain one or two of these cards depending on which rest tile they have acquired. So, the first person to rest gets to retain two of them and the second person gets to retain one in higher player accounts. There are more of these rest tiles that'll be in play. But it's not all bad because like we were mentioning earlier, one of the scoring effects will score you points for uh getting washed away in the floods. So, when discarding those cards, make sure you score their points. And once that's done, then we basically clean up for the next gear. At the end of the third gear, we'll go into final scoring. And basically whichever rest tile you acquire at the end of that third year will just score you points.
So the first rest gives you uh five points at the end of the game etc. And we'll also add up all the points that we've earned via our imprint tokens on this section of the board like we described earlier. And at that point whoever has the most points wins. And in the case of a tie the tied player who has more imprint tokens wins the game. And that's essentially it. We're going to go ahead and get cleaned up and we'll get started with our playthrough.
Okay, we are all set up. We are ready to go. We each have three of the starting subterrain cards. Basically, one of each symbol is on these. Uh, we also drew three surface cards from the deck. So, those are kind of more of a grab bag. We do have to figure out who's going to be going first.
I'll do even.
Uh, I'll go evens.
One, two, three.
Odds.
Odds. All right. That means I'm going to be going first today. So, I'm going to go ahead and take the first player token. And again, on your turn, we're probably just going to be playing a card for a majority of it. But if ever you decide you want to cycle out a card, you can discard a card to do that.
It's possible.
Pretty simple. So, let's just go ahead and get started, shall we?
Yes.
I'm going to go ahead and take the first turn. And of course, I'm going to play a card. And that card is going to be one of my starting subterrain cards over here. This is Beckb Bug.
Okay.
Beckb Bug has a shelled imprint at the top. And I'm going to play Beckb Bug to this space here. Now, Beckbug's um immediate benefit here says I can play one surface card from my hand. There you go.
In addition, I have a when played scoring effect here that gives me two points. So that means when I play the card, I score those points.
So I'm going to go ahead and score two points now.
Yep.
All right. So I'm going to play a surface card from my hand, which is Pelleaskque. We've got this Pelleask over here that I'm going to play to this slot. Now Pybask requires a pink imprint and a yellow one. So we have a yellow imprint here again because we have the wild slot. And Pelleask's immediate benefit allows me to draw two cards. I think because we have the migration row here that is completely comprised of surface cards. I think I'm going to prioritize the subterrain deck. So, let's just go ahead and draw one now. And actually, I'm just going to draw another one. Okay.
From here. All right, I've drawn my two cards. Now, the last thing is the scoring effect here. This is a rest scoring criteria. So, if this card is still here at the end of the round when I decide to rest, I will score three points.
All right, that is me. I have played a card but secretly found a way to play two cards. So,
and you got to draw cards. Drawing cards is good. It keeps you alive in the game because basically you'll have to rest if you have no cards to play,
right? Each year you're just going to try to extend your your presence in the year as long as possible. Basically,
cards are taking actions in this game, right? Okay. So, I'm going to start off by playing a subterrain card. I'm going to play this uh play this pink one right here.
So, this one is going to go into this slot for me.
Who is it?
Uh this is Ember Slog. Ah,
clearly uh so this one has two different effects here. So we have uh draw one card then discard one card. So I'm going to draw one of these ones. Surface card. Surface cards.
And then what? You have to discard a card. Yes. And there are discard slots for each of the two decks.
All right. I will discard a surface card. This one's going to go bye-bye.
All right. Very nice. Anything else?
Yeah. So then I'm going to get two points because it was a when played
effect played scoring effect.
All right. There we go.
All right. So, now it goes back to me and I'm going to play this Moab root. The Modeab routt.
Mode root.
It has a green imprint, which is the flora imprint at the top here. And the immediate ability says I draw one card and then discard a card. So, I'm going to draw a surface card.
Okay.
And then I have to discard one. Let's go with this one.
I'm discarding a surface card. Okay.
All right. That's me.
Okay.
Back to you. Oh, this has a rest scoring effect, so I don't score it.
Okay. I am now going to play a surface card and it's going to be this one over here. This is a miscrawler. Of course, we all know about the miscrawlers. So, this one uh it says discard x amount of cards and they always get discarded from your hand. That's the language. And then redraw x plus one. So, I gain plus one. So, I'm going to put it here. Uh I'm not going to discard any cards. They're just so valuable.
Okay.
But I will gain one. Yeah. And I'm
just required a green and a pink.
Yeah. So, the pink is here. The green is going to be on this universal here. Okay,
I'm just going to take one card only. So, I'm discarding zero cards and gaining zero plus one.
Oh, okay.
Okay. So, there we go. So, that's that. And this one has when I cycle out, I get an imprint token. A permanent imprint token of the pink variety over here.
Of the pink variet.
Pink variet.
All right. Done.
That's it.
All right. So, now it goes back to me and I'm going to play a surface card. This is plasmile.
Okay. Plasmal is getting played up here because plasmile requires a pink, which is wild here, and a green.
Okay.
Um,
what do you got?
Their immediate effect allows me to gain one point for each imprint type in my biome. I have one, two, three, four imprint types. So, even though the three major types that we score trophies for and we gain imprint tokens for are the green, yellow, and pink, there are other imprint types. So, as an example, this one here is the winged type, and the one that I just played is finned. So that matters because certain cards such as the one that I just played will refer to them.
Yep.
So this is going to score me four points.
Yeah.
So I go up to six.
Um now the scoring effect here is only if I cycle out the card, it'll score me six points. So that's it for me. So that goes to you Naveen.
Okay. I am going to play a subterranean card and I'm going to play this yellow one here. This is a Luna.
Luna.
Luna. Sorry. Very luminescent.
Yes. It's got the yellow on it. Uh, and this one says, "Play one surface card from your hand."
Oh, just like my first card.
Yeah. So, I'm going to play I'm going to play this one. I have something that has a very similar thing that you you had. Okay.
Uh, this one is gain one point for each imprint type in your biome. So, the exact same.
The exact same one. And this is going to have um I get four points right away from when played.
I'm going to put it here.
And this is requires a pink and a yellow.
Okay.
And so, I'm going to get Let me just get my four points cuz I know I'm going to forget that if I don't do it.
Okay. Uh then I gain one point for each imprint type in my biome. So I have two pink. So that's one type,
two, three. So I get three points. I go to nine.
Yeah, there are only uh so many of these immediate effects. So they're just sort of different combinations that you'll see across all the cards.
Yeah, they're kind of just lit everywhere. Okay. And uh this card, going back to the original one I played, is when I cycle this one out, if and when I cycle it out, I'll get three points. Now, if the flood comes and I don't protect this card and this gets wiped out, that is not considered cycling it out,
right?
Mhm.
So, then it goes back to me and I'm going to play Pyelisk.
Okay.
Here. So, this is a subterrain card. This allows me to draw one card and discard one.
Mhm.
So, let's go with another subterrain card. And then, oh gosh, I want to keep them all. I'm going to discard um this
a subterrain red.
Yeah.
Oh,
all right. That's me. So, it goes back to you.
Okay. Let's play a subterrain card. The green one here. This one allows me to draw a card. This is Rickbud, by the way. Allows me to draw a card and then during rest, it'll be worth two points. I will draw Well, seeing as I have two surface cards, let's just draw a subterrain subterrain.
One single.
All right.
Very nice. Then,
yes.
All right. So, then it goes back to me. And again, on your turn, if you want to play a surface card, you can choose to play one directly from the migration row.
So, that is what I'm going to do. I have these two subterrain cards here. One that's green on the left, one that's pink on the right.
Both of these are eligible.
I'm gonna go with this one.
Yeah.
Are you sure?
Cycle out. Yeah,
because this allows me to cycle out any other card from my biome to gain two points. Good.
So, I'm going to cycle out this card
because this has a cycle out scoring effect that gains me six points. So, that's going to be eight points between the two. And again, when you cycle them out, you discard them. They're now no longer in your biome.
You go to 12.
So I think that's six plus two.
Okay. Eight.
So
to 14
to 14. All right. So this migration row is created from seven cards from the surface deck. So there are four more now. Three more in the deck.
What does that look like? Double red.
And
that's hard to do. Okay. You took the card that I was trying to set myself up for with my green over here.
Uh so I'm going to have to play this one directly.
Oh. So, what you
Well, we could have inverted. You could have had this one. I could have the other one. So, this one is
Flame Bud.
Flame Bud, of course. So, Flame Bud's going to go here. Uh, it's a green one. So, this one says, "Cycle out any subterrain card. Gain three points."
Who will it be?
Ah, now now that you've done that, it changes.
This one has a cycle.
This one does. But if I want to keep going, I have to I have to figure out how I can do that. I think I have to do this one though, unfortunately, because these are these are kind of locked in. So, I'll get rid of this one.
Okay. So, this one's going to get me three points for that. Plus, I get another three points for this one. So, six points. This one goes out. So, it's cycled out.
I get six points. So, now I'm at 15. And
And we get a new card for the migration.
What is it going to be?
Oh, this is gain one imprint token of your choice.
Yellow green.
Oh, that's so nice.
Oh, you have yellow green.
I do. Yeah. I don't actually want to truly, but I think gaining an imprint token is really nice. So, this is Lumizar. So, yellow, green. Um, I'm going to gain an imprint token of my choice. I I don't have any yellow representation right now, and neither do you.
Uh, no, I got rid of my card. Yeah,
I'll take a yellow imprint token, please. We have them all off screen. Thank you. This is one point at the end of the game. If I'm able to get a complete set, that's three points. Completing columns is also additional points, but more importantly, it's a yellow symbol for all trophies moving forward for the and forever.
Each trophies were 10 points, right? Five points.
Five points. Five points.
Yeah. So, not not as good.
Not as good.
But no, five points. It's a 10 point swing in a two pair. That's true.
All right. So, now we have a new cardig. Green. Green. Double green.
Green. Double green.
Discard X cards. Redraw X cards. Okay. So, fortunately, I have a green card.
Okay.
This keeps me alive and in play. So, I'm gonna I'm gonna play this card. And I put it here. And so, this one is a do crown. Activate one surface card action. So, I'm going to activate I'm going to activate this card. Discard X cards. Redraw X plus one. I'm going to discard one card.
Okay.
Because this red green is just not possible right now.
Okay.
So, then that means
is it pink or is it purple? That's the great debate. Let us know.
Is it red, green, or purple? It's It's probably pink.
This red green. What did I say? Green.
I was like, what? Where did green come into play? I think I've called it pink and purple. Let us know.
Okay. So, that's going to allow me to draw two cards. I think I'm going to go one here first.
Take a gander at it. And then knowing that the flood's going to take some of these out, I'm going to take one of these. There we go.
So then it goes to me. And I think I'm going to play a decay card. So again, decay cards, they don't have any immediate benefit, but they are a wild. So this is going to count as any of the three symbols for the purposes of playing a surface card here. Mhm.
Um I do have a cycle out benefit though that gains me a green imprint token which is nice. But the big thing to keep in mind is that you cannot play two decay cards next to each other.
You can't have the gray and gray.
Correct. All right. That is me. Very simple.
So I'm glad I picked this card up because it keeps me alive.
Uh so I'm going to play this subtrain card. This is a sis heath. Uh cycle out one surface card from your biome.
Oh, who will it be?
It's going and then immediately I score two points for playing it. So let me let me not forget that. Okay. So, that's a when played effect. So, for your surface cards, you have a pink/ purple imprint. Yep.
Or six points.
I think I got to go with this one because it opens up the ability to continue playing.
Okay.
So, I'm going to get rid of this one. And this one is going to get me a pink imprint token. I would call it
Let's just call it shelled. That's what it is. It's the shelled imprint.
One right there.
It's shelled, scaled, and flora.
How many How many of those uh shelled do you have in
one, two? And I have one. Two. Okay. Yeah.
So, this one goes out.
Okay.
And then that's how that worked. And then
it's been cycled out. So, you placed one for one. Basically,
one for one. Yeah. Exactly. And then, but I opened up a space for potential future play.
Anything else?
Uh, that's it.
All right. I'm going to play a card from the migration row and it's going to be this one.
The one that I could play.
Oh, is that where you're trying to play?
Yeah.
Oh, well, that's why I played my So, technically I set mine up before you did.
You were first player.
Sorry. Anyway, this is Boba Drift. Oh, Boba Drift over here. So, pink. Pink. Okay.
And this says I can cycle out up to two other cards from my biome. It itself has a cycle out um scoring effect, but it says other cards.
Yes.
Now, it does not say specifically surface or subterrain, which means I get to choose. So, I am going to choose this one. Lumazar over here is going to get cycled out because they have a cycle out ability. Gets me six points. So, I'll go to 20. And then I'm actually going to cycle out this decay card. The whole reason why I wanted to play it in the first place was because of its cycle cycle out effect, which gets me the green Flora imprint token.
How many of those do you have in play?
One. Oh, the actual symbol.
Two of them.
Um, two.
Okay.
Yeah. Okay. Isn't that a whole lot?
I have a one, two, three, four.
Okay.
No, but you want to you want to collect sets on this. This is not it's not like you're like, "Oh, I won't green anymore."
All right.
All right. So, we need one of these.
It's the last one.
Baddies. Oh, baddies.
Does not work for me today.
This is such a baddie. You're such a baddie. Ether.
Well, I have double green here. So, that that can't work. What is this? Discard X cards. Redraw X cards. I mean, that's that's you know,
sloths.
It's something. So, to keep myself alive and keep going, I am going to play this card. So, this one is that slothax that we just talked about.
Uh, it's a different symbol here. And this is going to be
green to green like that. That's why that's legal.
Okay.
Uh, and it says discard X cards. Redraw x + one. So, I'm going to discard this card here.
Okay.
So, I'm going to get to draw two cards. So, let's go surface one. Let's go. Surface two. Come on.
No,
not Well, I just wanted something that could slot in here perfectly.
Oh, I have not found such a thing.
Ah, what a shame. All right. Well, I'm going to play a card from my hand. This is the glownat
yellow green. It allows me to discard X cards and redraw x plus one. I'm not going to discard anything.
Grab a card. I'm just going to grab Yeah, I'm going to grab a card. I'm gonna grab a
Don't forget the the flood is going to come.
I'm gonna grab a
subterranean card. All right. This is a cycle out uh scoring effect. So, now it goes back to you.
All right. I think I might have to rest here because the cards I have are not lining up with what I have set up in my subterrain.
Okay.
Yeah. So, that's I'm going to have to rest here. So,
Okay. So, you're going to take a rest action.
Take a rest action.
So, that means Navina is going to get to go first in the next round. So, first thing that happens is you get the top rest,
which is good because this one uh I I get to retain two of my cards. I protect them from the floods and I get to go first on the next one. So,
if that matters to me. Now, I'm going to score all the points for all the moon symbols during the rest. And I only have one card that does that. Really? This one for two points.
Okay.
Well, it's something.
Not too It's something. It's not a lot. Then I get to draw five cards.
Yeah. And how many cards you have in your hand?
I have three cards.
Okay. You won't have to discard any cuz again your hand limit will be eight cards during this part.
All right, let's take two subterrain just to start off. One, two. I got to see these. I'm going to draw two surface. One, two. And then gosh, money's
one more.
And now, all right, I don't know what to do. I'm going to take a subterrain.
I feel like subterrain when all else fails because
they're the foundation.
You don't have a migration row for them. No.
So,
yeah. There you go. All right. That's me. And uh now as Mo'Nique takes more turns and it comes back to me, every time she does take a turn and it comes back to me, I score one point.
Yeah. So it does kind of it tries it says wrap it up.
Yeah, it's basically telling me to wrap it up. But I do have a few more turns to play.
Few more turns to play.
Like a couple. I don't know. I just said few. I don't know how many exactly.
First, I'm going to play this subterrain card. This is Void Stock.
Okay.
And I think I'm going to play it here.
Sure. This allows me to cycle out one card from my biome. So, I'm going to cycle this one out. So, this gains me a pink
or pink or purple. It's a shelled shelled imprint of
There you go. That's not good for me.
So, I have a whole row now.
Um, and this has a an effect that'll come into play during the flood. So, I want to leave this here. I don't want to retain this card. Basically, that's it for me. So, now it goes back to you. You score a point.
I'm going to score a point. So, I go to 20.
And then it goes back to me cuz I'm still in play. I'm going to play this card from the migration row. This is the ether fence. So, pink green. This lets me draw two cards. I don't know if it matters too much. I'm going to draw this one. Oops. This one. Let's just draw two subterranean cards.
Okay.
Okay.
Back to me.
Back to you.
All right. Let's get another point.
Yeah. No gets another point.
Take it.
And then, do I want to keep going? Yeah, I'm going to play Vexo Wasp here.
Okay.
Because again, these do this does not have to be true anymore. As soon as these are played, this this uh lets me cycle out one surface card from my biome. I'm going to cycle this one out because it gives it has a cycle out effect that gets me six points.
So, I go to 26.
Um
you have a lot of rest points.
This has a cycle out effect. So, then it goes back to you. You score a point.
All right. Thank you.
I cannot play that card here. So, I can still cycle out cards. That's the thing. And I may want to because this gives me three points for cycling it out. And I don't really want this to stay here, you know, because it's covering up the wild. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to discard this card from my hand to cycle this one out, scoring me the three points. So that's the whole Oops. That's the whole turn. So that goes back to you. You score points to go up to 29.
23 for me.
And then for probably my last turn, I'm going to play the last card from my hand. This is Fizzroot. It says score my subterrain rest.
So it's it's only these three points.
Two, four, six.
That's good.
Six points. So I go to 35.
Oh wow.
Technically it goes back to you though, Naveen. So you score another point.
One more point.
Yay.
And then now I have no more cards left in my hand. So I'm going to rest. So same procedure as what Naveen did. I take the second rest tile. I draw or I I score my points, right? All the rest. So, this is going to be 3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.
So, 15 goes to Was that 50?
Yeah.
Well, it's the first year.
Yeah.
50. I get to draw five cards. I'm going to go with
to three of these. Oh my gosh. I'm going to draw one more. And one more.
Gray.
I drew something.
It was something.
Um, and I believe that's it. So, that is the end of that's the end of the year.
Not good. I got to have a better second year.
It's not bad.
I need a good sophomore year here. This is terrible. Yeah.
All right. We're gonna score some trophies and then we will have to face the floods. So, starting with the trophies. We're going to award the shelled trophy to the player who has the most of the shelled imprint symbols.
You have three of them, right?
So, I have one, two, three. Because again, it's going to be your imprint tokens. It's going to be the top of your subterrain cards and then the top left of your surface cards.
Yeah. So I only have one, two to your three. So get the Yeah.
So I get the pink one for that. So plus five.
Then goes green. I have one, two, three, four.
Same. One, two, three, four. So tie goes to the person who's losing that goes to me for five. Okay.
And then yellow is lost.
I think it's you.
I have one.
I have zero.
You have zero. Yeah. Zero.
Oh man.
Yeah. Not the right combination of cards for me.
All right. That's that flood time. So the flood is going to bubble up from the core of this world and wipe away just the subterrain cards. Now depending on which rest tile you took. You may retain one or two cards. I can only retain one.
I can retain two.
I think I'd like to retain.
Definitely not this one.
I know. It's going to I want this one to score. I'm going to retain this one.
Retain that one.
Yeah.
Just pick one. All right.
Which means all of these cards are going to get discarded and any cards that have a flood effect get resolved now. So this one, my void stock gains me a green imprint token. Please as its effect when it gets washed away.
All right. So I'm going to retain these two just because they're adjacent to this wild over here. So that gives me a little bit more flexibility. So I'm going to get rid of this one.
Okay.
This one already had its uh scoring when I put it into play. Yeah.
So, that's that. And then this one also very similar to Monnique's. Um, when this one gets washed away in the flood, I get a green.
So, we are still tied on the greens.
So, you're keeping those two cards.
Yeah, keeping these two over here.
All right, that is it. So, now we're going to clean up for the next year. We're basically just going to return these trophies. May I have the green trophy, please?
There you go.
And we're going to create a new migration uh row. So, if you want to draw seven cards. Yeah.
And then lay out three in a display.
All right. So, give me these. Any leftover cards, by the way, get discarded.
All right. So, this will go one, two, and three. Very good. And then now this will stay there. Okay.
All right. And just like that,
we are all set up for year two. So now this time, Naveen is going to be our start player.
I got to cycle out some cards here. This is
Don't forget that is a really uh a really useful action. Just discarding a card from your hand to cycle out
some cards that are in your biome or a card.
Yep. because that'll help clear out space. You can activate their effects. Very useful
score points.
But now I don't have any space. I need to kick these.
You have to do what I
cards out.
Okay, I'm going to start off. I'm going to play this yellow subterrain card. This is a Wii Spark. Uh this one is going to get me two points just for putting into play. I like to do those ones right away because it's easy to just get off on a side tangent. Uh so then um cycle out one surface card from your biome. I am going to cycle out this one. Now, this one does not have a cycling out bonus. Uh, but this opened up a space for me that was very vital. So, this one goes bye-bye.
All right.
Very good. All right. So, now it goes back to me and I'm going to play this here.
Thrilled.
Yes. Uh, this is a a shelled type. It says cycle out one card from your biome. I'm just going to cycle out this one.
Open up space.
No cycle out effect. Yeah, I'm just clearing up space.
Um, and that's it because this is a flood scaring effect. So, it goes back to you.
All right. very good. You know, knowing that cards are very useful for cycling out, I think I'm going to take this card and play it.
Oh,
this is discard X cards. Redraw X plus one. I'm going to put this here.
I took the card that I was going to
I like it for its uh cycle out bonus. I get the yellow to complete a set here. That That's something that I You have to find a way to get a yellow there. So, I am not going to discard any cards. I'm just going to draw. And I'm going to draw Let's Let's O I have a lot of surface cards. I'll draw a subterrain one.
Okay,
there we go. Oh, I did not put these back.
I did this completely wrong. There's supposed to be seven cards here. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
I was like I was like, "Huh, this is shuffle already after one." Mon'nique's been playing really well then.
Okay, so there we go. And then this goes here. There we are.
Can I have your wrist?
My bad. Okay,
token, please.
There you go. That was my responsibility. All right,
there we go.
All right, so then it goes back to me. I have to zag because I played this here to take that card. Now it's gone.
Oh, the one I took. So, I'm going to play this Meyer Willow. Oh, that's a pretty one.
It's nice.
I'm gonna play it here. It lets me draw a card
off to the side. Okay.
Yeah, it's green. I'm gonna I'm gonna draw a surface card.
All right,
back to you.
Very good. So, I really wanted this one so that I could play this one next. So, this is a Oh, what is this? Or Bloom. Orb of Bloom. Yeah, there we go. So, this is going to go here.
Okay.
Uh, we got pink into yellow right here. So, I immediately get four points for playing it. Then, um, it says, "Cycle out up to two other cards from your biome." These two both have cycle effects. So, I'm gonna cycle this one out. It's going to get me six points. So, that goes out. I get six points. I go to 41. Uh, then I'm going to cycle out that card that I just put in here. This one, when I cycle it out, I get a yellow imprint token. And what's nice about that is, first of all, I was lagging in the last one. You got a trophy on just one yellow.
Yeah.
But now, this gets me a second imprint or it gets me a a complete set. Oh, nice.
So, that's why I wanted to get it in so that I can then kick it out basically right away.
Very nice.
All right. So, that was everything for that.
All right. So, and you scored these four points, right?
I did. Yeah. So, anytime I put it into play, I try to score it right away and then go back and do all the other text.
All right. So, then it goes back to me. I'm playing a uh subterrain card. This is Teak Routt.
Okay.
And I'm going to play it here. This allows me, this has a cycle out effect, but it allows me to play one surface card from my hand, which will be Finch Flare, which will be here. So, green, pink.
Um, this has a when played scoring, so it's going to score me four points.
And the immediate ability says, "Cycle out any subterrain card and gain three points." I'm going to cycle out the subterrain card that I played.
Okay.
So, that'll gain me one of the green imprint tokens.
Oh, you're almost done with the the column.
Yeah. And three points.
And three points. Yeah.
So, that's me. So, 67.
All right.
All right. So, while I have this space available and not putting anything in, I'm going to play this card. This is going to represent the yellow that's on the wild and then the pink here. This is a Velmos. Uh, it's going to say cycle out up to two other cards from your biome. I'm going to cycle out this one that's out here. So, this one gets me a green token.
Nice. Look at you.
Very similar to what you did.
Uh, the other one, man, I got to open up space. I'll take out this one. I'm gonna get rid of this this red one. All right. That's my second one. Okay.
All right. So then it goes back to me. I'm going to play another subterrain card. This is emo stock.
Okay.
I'm going to play it here. It lets me draw a card. And I'm going to draw a subterrain card. So this has a cycle out effect.
Very nice.
So real simple, real easy turn. Back to you.
That was okay. I'll take this card and play it directly. I'm going to put it here. It's going to be green. And this will represent the yellow. Uh this one says, uh it is an ash bloom. Cycle out any other card from your biome. Gain two points. So I'm going to gain two points cuz I'm definitely going to do this. And I'm going to cycle this card out. The one that wasn't here. That one is going to get me a green token for doing so.
Nice. So you you have three also. I have three. We're tied for tokens.
Yeah. And I'm losing. So I'll get the trophy on like losing, I guess, technically. But we'll see what happens.
Oh, in the case of a tie.
In the case of a tie. If we tie. Yeah.
Yeah. Maybe you'll maybe you can clean sweet the trophies. It's 15 points.
I'd like that. I I would like that.
All right. So then it goes back to me.
There you go.
So we have a pink yellow.
We have pink yellow.
All right. I'm going to play a card from my hand. This is a surface card. This is Hawkril. Hawkril gains me one point for each imprint type in my biome. So I believe these are part of your biome. Okay.
So one, two, three, four, five.
Nice. Right.
So 72.
So 72. And it has a cycle effect. So that's it.
All right. Back to you.
I'm going to play this red, our pink one here. So it's flux hopper. Flux hopper. Yeah, flux hopper. There you go. can go there.
Tough.
Uh, it's activate one surface card action. I'm going to activate this one. Cycle out up to two cards from your biome.
I'm going to cycle. And this one has a get it washed away in the flood. Yeah. So, I kind of want to keep it forever.
So, this one I'm going to get rid of this. It's going to get me six points. So, that's one of two. So, I go to 49.
49. There you go.
There you go. Now, I'm I'm kind of trying to Well, we'll see.
And then because I activated this one, I can't wipe this one out.
Correct.
So, I'm going to get rid of this one. The yellow. How many yellows you have?
Yellow.
One.
It's up to two. It says up to two. I don't have I don't have to do both.
And And by the way, all of these benefits, they're always optional. So, you don't have to You didn't have to do any of them to begin with. So,
you don't have to do the second one.
Ah, I won't. I won't.
Yeah. I mean, if there are no cycle effects, your board is still pretty open. If it's not strategically beneficial, you think
I'm not Well, I am, but like I'm not going to do it. I won't do it. I'll leave it. Yeah.
Okay. All right. All right. So then it goes back to me. And my board is pretty full. It is pretty full. So do I cycle this? If I cycle this out, that's six points. I will do it. I'm going to discard this card from my hand to cycle this one out.
So it has a cycle out ability that scores me six points. So I go to 78.
Okay. Very good. Very good.
That's me. Back to you.
So I'm gonna play this card here. This one is going to represent pink. And then the pink here. Mhm.
This is a ridgeclaw. Uh, this one says, "Cycle out any subterranean card. Gain three points."
So, who who is it going to be? Who
do none of them have a cycle out effect? I mean, this is the only one that's not going to be benefiting you anymore.
Yeah, other than the fact that I would I'd have two. Well, I have three yellow. So, yeah, I'll get rid of this one because that one. Okay. Yeah, I'll get rid of this one. So, that goes out and then I gain my three points. So, I go to 52. All right. There we are. Very nice.
All right. So then it goes back to me for I think what's going to be my final action because I don't have any cards in my hand.
I'm going to play a surface card from the migration row. This one needed two greens. And this lets me cycle out any other card from my biome to gain two points. This also has a when played um that gives me four points. So it's going to be six points total. So what is that? 84.
84. Yeah, you're scoring a lot.
Okay. I was actually scared you were going to take this card.
I Yeah, I saw it. Okay. So, I'm gonna cycle out this one.
Okay. To get a green token.
To get a green.
Oh, you max out your green tokens.
Yes, I have. So, now green is going to be
good for you.
Um I'm not going to need to take them anymore, I guess.
Let's see. Something I can just luck into. Oh, double green. Gain one point for each imprint type in your biome. Okay.
And it's four points when played.
Four points when played. Okay. So, I'll play this card here. This pink one. Uh this one just It's a Blumb Bug. And draw one card.
Draw a card.
Just draw a card.
Just draw a card.
Oh, let's go. you. Okay, very good. And that's that. And you take a turn.
Goes back to me. It's time to rest. I have no cards left in my hand. Nothing really um more to do. So, I'm going to take the top rest tile here, which means I'm going to go first in the final round.
Save two of them.
I get to save two of them. Yes. When the flood arrives now, I'm going to score my rest scoring effect. So, it's going to be this one. So, this is three plus three is six plus two is 8 + 2 is 10. So, I go to 94.
94. I then draw five cards. You know, seeing as
you get to keep two.
I get to keep two.
And you know, this is flooded out. So,
yeah, I definitely these are This is The tough thing is these stay.
I'm going to take three first. Okay.
See where I'm at. I'm going to take another one.
Okay.
I need Yeah, I'll take four. Four and one. I just leave it at that.
All right. Very good.
All right. That is it. So, now it goes back to you. Are you going to take another turn?
I am going to continue taking turns. Yeah. So, I am going to play this one here. green to green. It says just draw two cards and it's another yellow. So I will draw
let's go one surface.
Let's just do another surface. Let's do two surface. Let's see. Let's see if we can just get something
working here. And so that's it for my turn.
All right. So it goes to me. I score a point.
One point
because I'm rested now. Goes back to you. Are you still going to go?
Uh yes. I'm going to keep going. So I'm going to play this one here. So this is a pink card, Arcus. Cycle out one surface card from your biome. And then this is a in the flood I get to put out a pink token. So I'm gonna get rid of this one. This one is going to gain me six points. So there goes that. We go to 58. Now it goes back to you.
Okay. So I score a point.
Point.
Back to you.
All right. Back to me. I'm going to play this card here. Uh this is a Mosachi. Mosaki.
Masaki.
Mosle.
Mos. Is that L?
I think looks like an eye. My eyes. My eyes. My eyes. There we go. So, it's going to represent yellow. Pink.
Uh, gain one imprint token of my choice.
Of your choice.
How many uh red
one, two, three pink.
Okay.
One yellow, one or four. Five green.
Five green.
You're going to take a green.
I take a green. Let's just complete this thing right here also.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
That looks pretty good. Okay, so now it goes back to you.
Okay, so I get a point. Plus, you have um like a bunch of the you have these that are going to get you the the pink infinite token. Yeah,
I'm going to discard this card to um cycle out a card.
Okay.
So, I'm going to get rid of this card. I'm going to cycle this one out. This is going to get me six points.
So, that goes there. I'm going to go to 64.
Okay.
All right. See, you still got that 30 spread on me though, man.
It goes back to me.
Yeah.
All right. So, I get another point.
Mhm.
All right. Back to you. But you're going
So, I'm going to go here. This one is green, yellow. Uh, this one says, "Cycle out any subterranean card. Gain three points for doing so." I'm going to get rid of this one.
Okay.
By get getting rid of that one, I get a
print a pink
token. Wow, look at you.
There goes that. This get your three points.
Three points takes me to 67. Back to you.
All right, so another point.
Yeah.
Oh my gosh, your round is is so much longer than mine.
It It is. Yeah. Okay, I'm going to put this green one in play. Uh, this is a Mando mass moss. Uh, this one's it's going to give me two points right away.
Okay, it's a one point.
Uh, and then this one says, "Cycle out one subterranean card from your biome." I am going to choose not to do that. Say no to that.
Okay.
Mhm. So, it goes back to you.
It goes back to me. I bet 100. I take a 100 token and then I basically reset my counter
and then it goes to you. And are you going to rest now?
No.
Oh, you're not.
There's this one right here.
This one from here. We have green. Green. When played, it's four points. I can I I'll I'll net four to give you one, you know.
Yeah, of course.
Two, three, four.
Man, you're still ahead, though, huh?
Uh, this one says, "Gain one point for each imprint type in your biome." So, I have one, two, three. The yellow is four and the green makes five, I believe. Five points.
Five points.
So, that takes me to 78.
78.
There we are.
And then back to me.
Back to you.
Oh my gosh. I'm just profiting off this interest. This This should be uh flipped over so we know what's going on.
Okay.
Double yellow. That's not happening. I have no cards in my hand, Monnique.
Okay. And you have no space on your board, which means I believe you must rest. Aren't you tired? That was so long.
It was long. I hope so many turns.
I hope I get all the trophies here.
Um we're going to find out. I think I might
very very soon. So, first you must rest.
I rest. Take this.
Take a breather.
Uh score your nighttime points.
It's not too many. Not too big nighttime cards, huh? Two
two points.
Two points.
That's still points.
It is.
And then draw five cards going on here. All right. So, one. What was I at? I was at uh I should be at 80.
Yeah. There you go. So, I'm going to have to lose three cards during this rest. So, it's going to be I mean, it's definitely going to be these two.
Mhm.
All right. Let's get one, two. Let's just have a gander. Let's go three. And then let's go four, five.
All right.
There we go. Good luck to me.
Good luck to you. And that is it. Good luck to us. Good luck to all of us because the flood is going to arrive again. First things first, let's borrow these trophies. Starting with the shelled, how many shelled do you have? I have one, two, three.
Uh, I have one, two, three, four, five.
Oh my gosh. Over achiever over here. So that's five points.
There we go.
Green, I have four, five.
Uh, one, two plus four, so makes it six. So now I go to 90.
Another five points.
I need this. I need this badly.
Wow, you're bringing sweep.
You're closing the gap. Yellow. I have one. I have one, but I'm losing.
So, you got it.
So, therefore, I get it.
So, now you're at 95.
95.
95 to 101. There you go.
Yeah. There we go.
This is anyone's game. That was a good sophomore year.
Suddenly, it's anyone's game.
Yeah.
All right. The flood flood has arrived. So, I get to retain two cards. I am going to retain both these cards,
right? I'm just going to wash this one away for a pink imprint token, please.
Okay. And you're going to retain those two. So, I get to retain only one card. Now I'm going to wash these two away.
Yeah.
So I'm going to take these out and get They're both They're both pink. So
keep that in mind. You now have maxed out.
I've maxed out. Now I got to figure out a way to make uh yellows. I mean, if every yellow I make is six points, 10 points, 15 points. Yeah, I got to make that happen. These got to go out.
You score your lowest row. I score my lowest row. Yeah, but still it's really good.
Um gosh, do I want this green here? Yeah, I think I'll leave this green here. Let's just get rid of this one.
Okay,
see you later. There we go.
Very nice. All right. Well, I'm going to go first in the next round. Let's return these trophy tokens.
Trophies go back to you.
And we are going to now reset the migration row. We won't make you sit through it. So, we'll see you in a second. All right, we're all set up for the third and final year. So, wrap it up. Although, Naveen, you closed the gap.
I was losing by like 29 and now I'm losing by six.
There's no more leader here. Anybody this anybody can take this game.
If I can trophy this up again, that'd be nice.
That is true. I have to be very vigilant. Although both of our boards are completely filled with surface cards, so we are going to need to cycle them out
somehow. But anywh who, I'm going to be going first this round. Now again, when you rest in this final round and you take one of these tokens, these are going to score you points at the end of the game, depending on which one you took.
Speaking of which, let's give that back.
Speaking of which, let's return them. So the first rest gets you five points. The other one gets you three. So it is the difference of two.
Hey, it could be it could be the the difference in the game.
Could be the difference. All right, I'm gonna go ahead and go first. And I think I'm gonna start by just playing a subterrain card. What else am I going to do? Right.
You could you could rest.
This is Slink Wrath. Not going to rest.
I'm gonna play Slinkrath over here. Slinkroth. Slink Wrath lets me draw a card. Let's go with a surface card. I don't really have many of them in my hand.
Nothing working.
So now it goes to you.
All right. I'm going to play a pink card here. I've identified a location to the east of my board here. Uh this is a Skeleod. Uh activate one surface card. I get to score two points for playing it. So, don't forget these things. These are important. These are the margins if you forget these.
I'm going to activate this card. Cycle out up to two other cards from your biome. I'm going to cycle out this one, which gets me six,
and this one, which gets me six. That's going to be 12 points.
That's so good.
I'm in.
Navine, you're in.
One, two, and then let's convert this to a zero. And then we take a hundo.
You get a hundo. You're the lead
to my pips. Oh, that's bad for ties.
Did you miscore something? I'm kidding.
Like I I looped it.
He must have cheated loop. I'm sure it's totally possible explanation. Okay,
come on now.
Um, done.
Yes.
All right. I'm going to go ahead and play a card from my hand and it's going to be Cammy Weed.
Okay.
To my subterrain area. This lets me draw a card and discard a card.
Okay.
I'm going to draw a subterrain card. Oh,
discard a card.
I'm going to discard this one.
Okay.
All right. Back to you.
All right. I'll play a yellow subterrain card. This is a uh Weelid. It's a yellow one. cycle out one card from your biome and then this is going to have a when the flood comes get me a yellow here. So if I keep this here,
yellow will come. It'll be worth six points at least. Nice. That's nice there. So I'm going to cycle this one out. This one is just going to clear space. It doesn't get me any bonus for doing so. Okay.
But at least it opens up the top for me.
Yeah, that's nice.
All right. Similarly, I'm going to play dust grill over here. I'm covering up the wild. I'm doing it.
Let me cycle out one surface card from my biome.
Open up some space. It's going to open up. It is. It's true. I'm going to I'm going to cycle out this one. So, no cycle out effect, but same thing. Opens up some space.
Okay. Uh well, I'm going to take this card here, cuz it allows me to draw cards. Drawing cards is nice. So,
I wanted that card, but I have a feeling you're going to take it. Yeah,
that's why I put the yellow here. And I opened up space so I can put this in here. So, yellow to yellow.
Uh and then if and when I cycle this out, it'll be six points. So, I'm going to draw two cards. Uh let's start with Oh, boy. Okay. Surface. Let's just do surface. And then I will take a I'll take a subterrain card. I don't know. I don't know if this is good. All right.
Yeah.
All right. Let's see. New in the migration. Double yellow.
We have Oh, double yellow. This is gain one point for each imprint type
in your bio. I've
seen that one before.
It's not bad.
Not bad. All right. I'm going to play this card uh over here. So, green and yellow. Cycle out any subterrain card to gain three points. It's going to be this one, the Cammy Weed. So, three points from that. This has a cycle out effect that gets meal six total. So, six total. Yeah. So, I go to
That's your whole thing?
Seven.
Anything else?
I think that's it.
Okay.
Cuz this is a rest scoring.
Okay. I'm going to play this card here. This one is another yellow. It's cycle out any other card from your biome. Gain two points. This is going to be yellow pink. That lines up perfectly.
So, what are you going to cycle out?
I'm going to cycle out this one. This one that just came in for the draw.
The six points. By cycling it out, I get six. And then this card itself is 78. So I get eight points for doing this. So we got 17. So 117.
Ah. Uhoh.
I got to keep going.
I just got to tie you now.
Mustn't stop.
I I got to win the trophies.
No
trophies must be mine.
Shall remain in this oasis.
All right. Well, next I am going to play this card here. Oh, I think I'm really running out of options.
This lets me cycle out one other subterrain card from my biome.
Okay. So, I'm going to cycle out this one.
Yeah, I get two yellow.
Gets me a yellow imprint token,
which is good. That That means you've completed that row for six points.
Yeah,
at the end of the game. Yeah, that's good.
Oh my goodness. It's tough.
Yeah,
it's tough. That's it because I don't I didn't have the ability to continue to draw cards and you really need
when I saw that card that came out that said draw two cards, I was like, I got to find a way to get that card.
You need the card um
to then cycle out
economy. Yeah. To be able to cycle out cards. So, I think I think my round might be ending soon.
Soon. Okay. Okay. Okay. Possibly. So, I am going to take this card here. So, because I cycled this out, this yellow double yellow
uh immediately for playing it, it's four. So, we're going to go to 21.
Okay.
Uh there we go. And then it says gain one point for each imprint type in your biome. I have one, two, and then it's just the standard the green, yellow, pink there. They're all over the place. So, it's going to be five points.
Five points.
One, two, three, four, five. So, 126.
Uhoh. Then we got a new card. Now, what is it going to be? Uh, yellow pink
one point for each pink imprint.
Okay.
Oh, I'm going to discard a card in order to cycle out a card.
Okay.
So, I'm going to cycle out this one.
So, no cycle out benefit.
But now I have an open space. All right. Back to you.
All right. Card economy. We talked about it. So, I'm going to take this one. This is going to go green into pink.
That's going to allow me to draw two cards.
Oh.
So, I am going to take
Sad times. So, I'll take one subterrain.
Okay.
And then I'll take one surface. Let's just see what we got. Okay. There we are.
Please draw cards. Oh, draw two cards. It's not the colors that I need, unfortunately.
Or yellow and green.
All right. The thing that's nice is this combination was versatile.
So, I can still play a card from the migration row so that I can use my the card in my hand to cycle out. You know what I mean?
Yep.
So, I'm going to play this card. This is Bellwing. I needed a pink pink. This gets me one point for each of the shelled imprint. I have one, two, three, four.
Okay.
Plus the four points as the when played scoring. So it's I go 215.
Yeah.
So there is that. And I think that's it.
Okay. So I'm going to play this green card here. And this one is a collad.
Cycle out one surface card from your biome. Ah.
So any Oh, a surface card.
Surface card from my biome. I'm gonna get rid of this one. Now, it doesn't give me any benefits, but I have a card that could potentially get played there. So, okay, I'll put that there. Okay.
All right. So, now it goes back to me for what I think is my final turn, which is scary because Naveen has some open slots. He's going to keep going.
I do.
So, I'm just going to discard this card from my hand to cycle out this one. It gives me a three points that has a cycle out effect.
So, that's it. I go to 18. Now, it goes back to you.
Okay. Very good. I'm gonna play this card. So, I open space for double green. And this one says, uh, gain one point for each green imprint. So I have four,
five, six. So it's going to be six points. So it's going to take me to 32. 132 or 3. Sorry, 132. Yes.
132. Yeah.
All right. So now it's back to you.
That's it. Back to me. And I'm going to rest.
Rest.
So at least I get the five points at the end of the game for resting.
So I'm going to go ahead and take this now. So, um, I'm going to score my my rest points, which is going to be 3 6 9 10 11 12 13.
Okay.
So, I go to what is that? 31, right?
Uh, what was it? I
18 to 31.
Yes. Oh, wow. Okay.
Yeah, that's really good.
Yeah, I had 3 6 9 10 11 12 13.
Yeah, that's really really good. We're only off by one now.
And that's it because there really is no more point to drawing additional cards.
Yeah, cuz there's not another round.
Yeah. So then it goes back to you for the rest of your turns.
That's it. Huh?
Now be careful because I think the way that it stands right now, you are nudging me out on all of the trophies.
I think I have all the yellow,
not even the ties.
Green
like just out.
You have pink.
So don't remove any cards. Basically that would make that not true. You know what I mean?
I'm looking at it. Uh oh. Okay. I'm going to play this card here.
Okay.
And this one says uh cycle out one card from your biome. I'm going to go ahead and cycle this one out. Just get rid of it. So I Yeah. One pink for a pink basically, but I'm opening up some space.
All right, one point for me. Hey. Hey, we're tied.
Okay, very good. I'm going to cycle out, I believe. Okay, I'm going to cycle this card out. I'm going to get I'm going to get rid of this one.
Yeah, discard that one.
Discard that to get rid of a yellow. Oh, sorry. Put in the wrong spot. Which is going to get me six points. Six points,
which is good. So, I lost the yellow, but there's a way to get there's a way to get it back. One, two, three, four, five, six.
Okay,
so I get a point.
You get a point. And then
and then now I'm going to play this green one here.
So that's going to get me two points for playing it. So that takes me to 40.
Okay.
Uh and then it says play a surface card from my hand. I'm going to play this one which is going to be a yellow green.
Uh this is a Zarvar.
Zarvar.
Uh is it Zarvara and then it says gain one imprint token of my choice. I'm yellow. So the yellow that I kicked out here will now come here and then get me to the six point. Oh, you have more imprint tokens than me, too. This is bad.
Yeah,
bad bad news.
So, um I have no more cards.
Okay,
so I think uh I'm going to have to rest. But did you get your cards back to me
for that additional point?
And then now you may rest.
Rest. So now I'm going to rest. I get the rest tile, which is this one. Uh and then we're going to score the uh rest points, which is going to be one, two, three,
uh four, five, five. Five. Five. Yeah. Okay.
All right.
There we go.
I think that's it, right?
That's it. Yep. Okay.
All right. That is it. That is the end of the final year. But before we go into endame scoring, we are still going to hand out trophies and have a final flood. Yes.
So I think Naveen gets all of these.
Pink.
Pink. Shelled.
I have
one, two, three, four.
I have four, five.
That's for you. Five. Five. Okay.
Green. Is green next? Yeah.
I have one, two, three, four, five.
Uh, green. I have
literally all of these.
Yeah, I have seven of them. So eight, actually. Yeah.
So another five. And then yellow. I have one, two. I have one, two, three. So, yeah,
there you go. Clean sweep. Clean sweep. Six of these.
Two clean sweeps. Yeah. Back to back. Yeah.
All right.
Okay. So, that's 160.
And finally, the floods for the final time. These cruel cruel floods, this phenomenon on this world for some reason.
So, um they all technically get wiped. I don't have any flood effects and there really is no reason to retain them.
Yeah.
So, do you have any flood effects?
I do. I have this one. So, this one by I get a yellow token.
Very nice.
There you go. big for me. Yeah. And then this one uh goes bye-bye. And then
I mean, they all technically do.
This one technically gets me a pink token also, but since my board is maxed out, that's ignored.
Yes. So,
yeah, you don't gain that any additional
those two get swept away. I would only keep one away.
No, no, no, no. But I'm just trying to represent that. And I the sweep would happen, but we don't have to worry about that anymore.
All right, that is it. That is the end of the game. So, now we're going to go into final scoring. It is really very simple. It's just really two more things, two categories.
It's going to be our rest tokens. So mine gets me five points since I have the first rest.
So I go to 39
gets me three to 163.
And then we are going to score our imprint tokens. So again, each imprint token is worth one point. So I have a total of four, five, six, seven, eight. So that's eight points for you. Four, eight. So I go I get up
47.
Okay. I have 11. So I'm going to go to 74.
Okay.
Okay. 174.
Um and then you score the highest uh scoring row that you've completed. So for me it's six. And then uh each column you've completed is worth five points. So I only completed one column for five. So it's a total of 11.
Okay. So I have two columns. So that's 10. And then my highest is another 10 with this row here. So it's going to be 20.
Oh my goodness.
So
that is a lot of points.
20. Yeah. 194.
Yeah. So there we go. Final scores are me with 158 to Naveen
with 194.
That second round when I I had eight cards. You were scared.
I was very scared. Yeah. No reason.
You Well, you drew a lot of cards in the first round and uh then in the second round I was able to have eight cards.
So, I think that was pretty good.
That's true. Going into the next round.
And then I was able to find cards that allowed me to cycle out too to clear room. If you can clear a room and then you can put stuff out, then then like the flow can go.
Yes, you definitely want to just have cards in hand. So, draw being able to draw additional cards, being able to cycle out cards, those are like the most valuable, right? Right?
Especially those cards that say like cycle out two and then if those have like cycle out six point bonuses, it's like well now they've done their their part. They're now gone. I got 12 points out of it and now I've opened up space for for more cards to come. But sometimes if you're just you're not getting those cards and it just is what it is.
Yeah, it is what it is. But I think I should have done a better job. If you're not able to sort of keep the flow going, you should at least try to be competitive with the trophies. Like do what you can to be able to claim at least one of them. I think in the last two I just kind of I sacrificed them all. Yeah,
I went zero for six.
Yeah. Yeah, cuz like 15 plus another 15. Yeah.
Well, I'll play him. You are the winner today.
You put a lot of pressure on me early.
But there you go. That is Oasis. New life on a distant world. It's a new and difficult life cuz as you can see, species sort of come, they go. It's a harsh environment.
They don't stay long term.
No.
Now, again, this game plays one to five players. So, there is a solo mode. And in higher player counts, you'll just have more rest tiles. You'll have more people competing for the cards in the migration row because trophies of course
you'll only ever have three face up in the display. And yes, of course, the competition for the trophies will be a lot more fierce. But otherwise, all the rules remain the same.
Well, there you have it. That is Oasis New Life on a Distant World. Now, if you have any questions about the gameplay, feel free to leave in the comments down below.
