Hello. Welcome back to the channel and this is a channel where we give you reviews, don't do unboxings, don't do any more bloody play-throughs, but we generally like to talk a lot of bollocks about tabletop gaming in general. But today we're going to be talking about an expansion for a game called SETI. We're going to be talking about SETI: Space Agencies and in this expansion you will be getting more stuff. You'll be getting more aliens, more cards, more stuff to complement the core game of SETI. Give you a few more options if you're bored out of your brains with that one, yeah? So remember if you know it, consider subscribing to this channel with the like button and all that YouTube [ __ ] See you after this.

Bollocks. So SETI: Space Agencies. What's in this expansion? So this is the first major expansion for SETI: The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. This is a relatively simple expansion, yeah? You're going to get more bits and pieces to stick into your core game, right? So what we're going to do, we're going to tell you what you get, then we'll tell you what the decent stuff we thought about it and we'll tell you what was [ __ ] about it, yeah? So the first and major thing you're going to get with this is three, yes, three new alien species, right? I'm not going to go into any spoilers because one of the big draws of SETI was the fact that you didn't really know what the alien species were going to do until they were revealed, yeah? But these come with the usual thing, you're going to get an alien board which you're going to flip over. You're going to get some cards which give you a twist in the later stages of the game and you're probably going to get a few tokens that are going to mess with your plans once they are revealed, right? There's a bunch of new cards that you'll just quite simply chuck into the existing deck. You've got these things called signal tokens and you'll be discarding these to discard one additional card from the card row, and mark a signal in the matching sector, right? If you don't know what I'm talking about, then [ __ ] you cuz you should have played the core game, you know? All right. You have got some things organizations. This is like a Terraforming Mars prelude sort of thing. So, it gives you a special feature with some special abilities that you need to you and gives you like a leg up at the beginning of the game cuz I think word around the campfire was that the first turn was sort of pretty similar for all players. This eliminates

the first round and gives you a sort of jump start into the thick of the [ __ ] right? So, the quick start cards are going to basically give you start resources and all that sort of [ __ ] Like we said, you're going to get an organization gives you special ability and you'll get four main deck cards as well, right? There's also some rules and components for a solo game with the organizations and all that sort of crap. And this gives you some long-term objective tiles thrown into the mix and all. And that is about it. That's all the [ __ ] you're going to get in SETI: Space Agencies. And if you're not happy with that, then go and sit on a [ __ ] hot dog, do what you like. That's SETI: Space Agencies. So, the first thing that we really quite like about this is that it integrates seamlessly with the original game, yeah? You're not really going to know that it's here. It's like some pervert peering through your window, yeah? Unless you see like a glint or a shadow or something, you ain't going to know that there's tosser one off outside your bog window, right? Aside from the aliens, there's not really any special rules that are going to bend your mind, but you know, obviously the aliens had different rules anyway in the original game. There's nothing here that's going to surprise you. There's no radical departures from the rules. You're not going to have to do that horrible thing where you're going to be substituting tokens that you've already bought for new stuff in the game and or discarding and chucking away tokens that you had in the original game, yeah? So, it integrates seamlessly into the original and more publishers should do that, right? So, the second thing that we like about this and obviously it's the fact that you've got three new aliens to keep you on your toes. Like we said, not going to give you any spoilers because part of the fun of the original game was not really knowing what the aliens were

going to do. Okay, the problem with the original game where you got to stop proceedings and read for all the alien [ __ ] and and not understand it and it just cuts the game off for well, quite a lengthy period of time where you're sort of reading all the [ __ ] to do with the aliens. That's not been fixed, and there's not really any way around it, is there, unless you get a really simple alien. But, most of the aliens in this are pretty meaty, you know what I mean? And there's a lot of [ __ ] to read, a lot of different rules and all that. But, the fact that you get three in this relatively small box is absolutely fantastic, and that is the thing that breathes so much new life into say, not that it was an old dog in the first place here, but if you've played this a lot, or we have, then this is the first thing you're going to be looking for in it, you know what I mean? It's like a new map in Arnak, you know? Don't we like about City Space Agencies? So, the first thing that we didn't really like about City Space Agencies is that before we played it, we thought, okay, the quick start components are going to eliminate the first round, and that means this game's going to go a lot quicker. And I know there's always a bunch of wankers out there that are going to say, nah, it takes like 2 hours to play it. This always takes 4 hours, maybe a little bit longer, depending on who's playing the game. It's always takes us a long time to play, and I was thinking, if they could get this down to like 2 and 1/2 hours, that would be [ __ ] awesome. And I was thinking, they've done it. They've done it with these quick start components, you're going to eliminate a round, and it's going to be one less round to play, and it don't really work out like that. We still ended up playing this for around 3 and 1/2 4 hours, even with the jump start rules, you know what I mean? So, if City was a little bit too long for you, then you're [ __ ] out of luck, cuz

it's still going to be a lengthy affair. So, the second thing that we didn't really like about Space Agencies, and we've alluded to this already with the aliens when we talked about them, is that they are relatively complex, especially due to the fact that there's not really any way around revealing the aliens and then reading all the [ __ ] and hoping to get it into your brain the first time round, which if you don't understand it, it becomes [ __ ] frustrating, don't it? You know what I mean? It can be a little bit of a mind [ __ ] This isn't exclusive to this expansion. It was an issue, not a problem, but an issue with the original game, so it hasn't really been fixed is the wrong word but addressed. You know what I mean? Just summarize is SETI Space Agency's worth your time and bother today and in the future? So we are going to say yes, absolutely. SETI Space Agency's may be the perfect expansion for not only this game but a blueprint for all the other expansions that are going to be published in the rest of my very very short lifetime, yeah? There's no substituting any components that you already own. No new radical rules overhauls, just more stuff. And you might not even realize it there. I'm not going to give you my peeping Tom pervert metaphor again cuz he's just ejaculating in his wife's front yard. Okay, so the new alien races can be a little bit complex and they break the flow of the game when they first appear but the core game did this anyway. So [ __ ] it. Just grab your balls or your minge, dive in and swim. If you own SETI and you don't own this expansion then you're [ __ ] mental.

I'm going to send [ __ ] Frank Bruno, a psychologist round to arrest you and hold you against your will until you worship at the temple of SETI Space Agency's. So there you go. That is SETI Space Agency's, the first expansion for SETI, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Remember, if you are new here, consider subscribing to this channel with a like button or what YouTube [ __ ] See you next time.
