Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the discriminating gamer. You know, I just read a few facts about frogs. They were riveting. Today we're taking a look at stake. Now this is from was it plain spaghetti games. Now this is a game for 6 to 10 players where basically you are part of a legendary vampire hunter you know guild, okay? It's a social deduction game and you got to figure out which one of your people can be trusted because there's vampires in the mix and you got to figure out which ones they are. So it's a really unique sounding social deduction game. So tell you what, let's go down to the table, let's open this one up and let's see what's on the inside.

All right folks, here we go. This is stake. Now this is a social deduction game of dining and deception and designed by Will Demamby? I hope I got that right. I'm really bad with pronouncing pronouncing names. All right, now. Take a look here on the side. We got 30 to 60 minute game. You're looking at 6 to 10 players and ages 14 and up. And you know what? It's even easier to see it right there. All right, so. Looks like these are all maybe one two these are probably the 10 characters are going to be in the game. Remember you are vampire hunters. Okay, or you're part of a legendary vampire hunters guild. All right, you got to infiltrate and figure out who the vampires are is what it looks like cuz vampires are on the prowl. Sounds very interesting. So. Let's stop looking at that back. Let's get this thing opened up and see what we got inside here.

Cuz [snorts] I'll tell you what, once we get the plastic off then all this artwork and everything else starts looking a whole lot better, okay? Definitely looks a lot better. So like for example, yeah, so you take a look at all that, okay? Look at those different people. Those are cool looking. I like them. All right, and like I said this is plain spaghetti games. All right, get this guy opened up. And the first thing we're going to get is the hunters manual and let's put that paper back in there and let's take a look at this manual real fast. Okay, flip it over to the back. We're not going to get a page count because it's going to be 31 pages once we open it up. So. Let's see what we have. Little prologue, game overview, list of all our components. Doesn't look like a ton of components in the game. All right, but it's a deduction game so you got to figure everything out. But this is what looks really cool. It's kind of you have all your different hunters.

All right, your different cards around your table. Set up based on the number of players. Different things are going to be added. And you're going to have looks like a night phase, the mingling and dining phase. I don't know if you can play this over dinner. Now I'm hungry. All right, so here's your mingling phase. All right, stake voting tokens. The dining phase, the round table to sit in the dining table I guess. All right, and there's your first round and ending the game. The alpha hunter. Alpha hunter voting tokens. Your vampire lord, there you go. Ghost players. Oh, so I guess if you die or something else you're not out of the game. All right. Last will cards. Complete run over view and now we're going to get some advanced play.

It's kind of blank but it's probably right there. Okay, looks like we're going to have some sacred relics. Uh so just a bunch of unsacred relics is going to add to it using the sacred relic board. Very cool. Updated flow with the sacred relics. And there's your relic glossary kind of give you a little more information on all of those. I do like it when I do that. And this one here looks like it's going to have a Kickstarter exclusive blood of the one. All right. There you go. That's the rulebook. Very nice. Okay, let's see what else is in this box. Now. There's a little ad for them right there, okay? Go ahead and show that. Looks like we are going to have a bunch of player aids for all the different players. So. Give you an idea here. I'll just do it a Can we get that glare out of there?

It's kind of small text so we'll just do it like this so that way you can kind of get a better look. There's your backside of it, passive effects. There's the bottom half. Master Kickstarter exclusive one I think on the bottom right there. All right. Now, what do we have here? Looks like we're going to have some dial tokens so we're going to be punching these out and look at that center pieces are falling right out and those are falling out and actually feel they're right out normal about two was it two three millimeter? Okay. Ghostly intervention guys right there so a couple more of those. Oh yeah, I didn't look at the backside of this other one. So it looks like it's going to be the same. So we're going to have our probably going to have 10 of those is my guess. All right. Or maybe not necessarily 10.

At least with the ghostly intervention. Okay, those look cool. Oh, there's another one down there. All right. Your mingling board. Very cool. Very nice. All right. Some numbering tokens. For voting or something along those lines. Yeah. Oh yeah, we're going to have all of our player guys. See some of them are right side up, some of them are upside down. Ah, we'll let you look at them right side up. Okay, very nice. Oh, look at that man. They were staked. Ah. And the same with these guys. Okay, so we'll take a look at those.

All right, flip it back around for you. Boy, those guys just don't look very happy, do they? But they're staked. Oh yeah. Ho ho. This game sounds interesting. Now okay, and our last one's right here. All righty. Last girl there and they're staked side as well except for well, that. Okay. All right, now. Inside here, what are we going to get? We're going to get a couple zip lock bags. We're going to get all the components cuz we got to put those little wheels together. Looks like we're going to get a couple of different sand timers. And we're going to get this one first player marker. Oh, this is kind of really cool. So get get in there bag. So let's take a look at this guy. This is a nice little metal one.

Or no, this isn't a player marker. Oh maybe. Oh wow. So this. What is this? Looks like almost like a pin. Okay, yeah that's that's why this is on there because that kind of comes to a point and I'll stab myself with it. But yeah, very nice. Little pin. I like that. That's cool. Okay. Let's get him back in that little bag. Okay, put him down there. Now we're going to get a few different packs of cards. And what are going to be in these cards? Let's get that little thing out of the way. So looks like this is going to be our characters. Let's see what we have for characters. And what is all going to be on these? So. Doctor Wilton. Now what's on the backside? A little bit of a story for him. All right, we'll give you the story.

Professor Lovecraft. And there's her story. All right, pause if you want to look at them a little bit closer. Okay, if you actually want to read all that in the back I'll try to keep the glare off of you for you. I'm really good with glares here for some reason. I don't know why. Can never get rid of glares. If everybody stops printing glossy stuff then it might be a little easier. All right, and age late 20s. Yeah, of course they're not going to give her real age, right? Late 20s, early 30s. All right, but Arthur Kensington here, right? You know what? Oh, he's even in his mid 30s. They won't even give the age for the guy guys. Okay. Well, at least they're consistent across the board.

All right, and then there's your last one. Okay. Kills 58. Now. If you want to play the advanced game, here is all those sacred relics. Okay, so it looks like we're going to have use after first round sacred relic. All right, there's the blood of the one. All right. And I was going to say is there any way to tell that it was the Kickstarter exclusive one? It doesn't really say it but there you go. All right. Really super tiny text on those. We'll go ahead and pause if you want to look at those a little bit closer. Okay. Relics you're just going to add just that little extra to it. My guess is you're probably going to want to play with the relics.

Cuz you know it's a deduction game you really got to throw all the bells and whistles in there on these games. Now, what do we have here? Secret role cards. Okay. Ah. So you have your secret roles. Then you have all your last will cards. Now the last will cards are they all going to be the same? No, they're going to be a little bit different. So we're going to look at all the last will cards. Okay, pause get your closer look.

Choose a living player. There's no alpha hunter. All right. And there you go. Okay, so that's going to be those. And then we're going to have all these secret roles. So our secret roles, what are you going to be? You're going to be a vampire lord. You can be just a regular vampire. Could be a couple of those. And the rest of them are probably going to be hunters. Okay. And hunters and a hunter and a hunter and a hunter and a hunter. I like how they have different icons for the different hunters so they're not always the same. That's actually really cool. Okay, I do like it. Very nice. And that folks is what you're going to get inside this box. Now. Once all these are punched, I think all these boards I'm going to put underneath this so it lifts this up so that way everything stays in place. Otherwise, you're going to have stuff flopping around all over the inside of this thing.

But, we'll get all those in there. We got all our player aids in there. We're going to get our rulebook put in there. And there you go. And that, folks, is STAKED. All right. Nice little social deduction game. Very cool looking. I'm really excited to play this one. Social deduction games aren't necessarily my thing, but you know, I've been getting more and more into them. And this one looks really unique, really fantastic. I like it. Okay. Let's head up top. Let's close this out. All right, folks. There you go. That is STAKED, the social deduction game of vampire hunters. And I'll tell you what, this game to me looks really good. I like social deduction games that kind of stand out from the norm. There's a lot of them out there, and it's to me some of them are kind of plain, but this one here looks really unique. I like the different phases. It's got, of course, a little mingling phase and a diner phase. The components look really cool when they're going to be laid out on the table. I like the way all that looks as well. And then, of course, the theme itself, vampires. This is a game that really makes me want to play it because of the theme and the components. Um and I do like the way it just kind of stands out from some of the normal ones. Okay.
