Hello, I'm Lori from No Rolls Bar. I'm joined BY DOM. I'M JOINED BY JOSEPHINE. I'm joined by Sullivan. I'm joined by MOLLY ROSE. I'M JOINED BY LIIL. And welcome to Board Game Club, where the first rule of Board Game Club's mother was a hamster. and its father smelled of elderberries. And that's because today we are playing Shug, designed and published by Studio Gruff. In Shug, players will be exploring a land beset by monsters in order to find the mysterious legend Shug and bring him to the pub in the center of the map. Shug is one of the legends randomly hidden under one of these tiles. Players will be traversing the land by rolling the dice, collecting and equipping treasures to help them fight or befriend monsters. Treasures come in a few different forms. Firstly, there are equipable treasures that give you permanent boosts to your attack, dice rolls, and or additional effects. Other treasures are one-time use that are often used to give you an extra boost in the midst of battle. If you've ever played Munchkin, it's a very similar system. When a player leaves the path, they must face a monster.
They can choose to fight it by beating its attack value using their equipped items, or they can choose to befriend it by doing a realworld challenge. If they defeat the monster in battle, they earn more treasures. But if they complete the challenge, the monster joins them and permanently adds their attack value and or bonuses to the player's stats. A player can have a maximum of three monster allies and three treasures in front of them at once. There are also some key tiles on the board you should know about. At ins, you can choose to roll your movement value once per turn, and X tiles allow you to pick up an extra treasure when you pass over them. If you ever pass through a legend runstone, that legend joins your party and gives you extra bonuses. If you ever cross a chaos tile, a new chaos card reveals, adding extra madness to the game via either a one-time effect or a permanent change. There is a second win condition to the game. Players can choose to do battle with the tyrannical king and defeat him instead of finding Shug. However, the king has an attack value of 100. So, players must make sure they're fully equipped for a tough battle. If a player is ever defeated, they return to the starting village and lose any treasures they've gained so far. And that's the basic overview.
We'll cover additional rules as we play, but let's see which player is the first to the pub for a nice cold pint as we play Shug. So, yes, we are playing Shug in which we are going to be trying to find the legendary Shug and taking them to the pub or alternatively defeating the king by gaining power. But who is everyone playing as? Dom, who's your character?

Best way to do is moving down the paths because that's the quickest way. If every time you move into spaces off the path, you instead fight a monster. And fighting a monster ends your turn. So
good to use the maximum movement.
Also some nice benefits to doing
to going off the path
like and fighting
fighting monsters because you can recruit them to your team. So then you can gain your you can gain power that way. So you can either gain power through the treasures or through uh recruiting the monsters.

Once per turn on a square next to a peasant. Steal a random card from their hand with a little crook symbol. Look first.
Oh, that's good. So, if you get the crook uh rune, which will be on the bottom of one of these, you can look and then steal a card from another player. But if you're next to another player, you can take a card from their hand. So you could take one card from Dom because you're actually one. You're in the square next to him.
