The MvM 10 and other BIG Campaigns - Board Game Crowdfunding This Week!

0:01 welcome back to another crowd control and we say it's a very big week very special week a lot a very special week welcome to a very special episode this is a very special episode of crowd control yeah and uh it's special for it's personal this is a very personal episode for us I would say we're not going to bury the lead anymore this is the week that we launch the next MVM crowdfunding campaign this time on gain found this is for our season five but we've been doing this for more than 5 years we've been doing this almost 10 years we just haven't been running campaigns every year uh running one is a lot uh but we've put together something very different very unique uh and it's launching this Friday yes that's right it's launching on Black Friday so don't go out and shop just stay home turn on your computer come to our gamefound uh campaign page and please support us I don't care if you do shop just do have your phone open and be ready that's all you got do that's fine too um so right now as of you're watching this we should have the preview page up you can go there please and follow our campaign more on that in a second but just to give you a little idea of what we're going to be doing on the campaign we are launching what we're calling the MVM 10 this is something we intend to do every year where we're curating a list of promos 10 promos plus maybe some bonus promos to be revealed throughout the campaign but 10 really really great promos I think you're going to be really

1:32 excited about this in the past uh we've done it like a lot of other promo crowdfunding campaigns where there's just a ton of promos but to be honest some of those are great some of those are good some of those maybe less so right this time you can look at this list and go these are all good games these are all good promos they're great games I would say they're all great yeah well yeah that's that's for sure I can tell you this you're not GNA look at this list and go I've never even heard of that game yeah and I know in the past we've done you know just a bucket full of promos we've grabbed everything we can grab but we we decided we were going to do something uh for and we did it this way for two reasons for one we're more closely curated what we were giving for games that we love and promos that we think are really cool but also uh this brings the price point way down yes the price point on this is very attractive it is just $35 now that doesn't include shipping but $35 which is a lot less than we've ever charged for the promos is going to get you all the promos that we're giving in our campaign the MVM 10 plus the bonus promos that we reveal um so it's really really appealing another big thing here and this is part of the reason why we've limited it to the quantity is I have them in fact I'm going to put my hand in front of them so you can't see them they're kind of obscured but I can tell you every one of the promos including the bonus promos are in this baggie right now we've got all the promos packed up and ready to go so here's the news these are going to start delivering the month after our campaign we have them all ready to go as soon as the campaign closes I've already talked to

6:04 and they have some new variations on the last Aurora format this is a game we covered here on the channel I actually thought when I was talking with Ryan about I said didn't we just cover this not not like this year last year but like in the last couple years like five years ago it was a long time ago it was at least five years ago at least five years ago but they've got a new edition that comes in a couple different flavors so think like Pokemon Red and Blue sort of thing yeah uh is like red and blue even yeah it it is cuz there's a frost version which is kind of like the original I think Mad Max but cold sure and then they've got a new one that looks more deserty which more like Mad Max but the game is this game where you're the main board is variable and you're moving your sort of uh Convoy across to get to the last Aurora which is like the or the Aurora which is the ship that you're all trying to get to but along the way you're fighting guys you're doing all sorts of different things fulfilling things and then the the player board it kind of represents your crew like your group and your convoy you're actually building out your truck putting cards above it like it's a really really cool game and they've revamped a lot of it this is this seems like kind of 2.0 like a second almost like a second edition they're not calling it second edition but it it does feel that way in fact the campaign has a upgrade pack too if you want to just get that and apply it to the game that you already have which is great I think it's great when games do that yeah it looks really really cool so definitely check that out that is also on game found it is uh the one I'm talking about is called SE beasts no this is not based on

7:36 the hit Netflix movie uh but it is similar in theme in that you are these uh Viking Crews taking your boat out on these trade routes and of course these trade routes are inhabited by monsters so this is a boss battler with a Twist you're choosing your boss which you can do either in oneoff play or you can play through they said like a 20 to 30 hour campaign that takes you through all the bosses uh and progress carries over through all of that but the key whole idea here is that you are in the water uh you're sailing your boat so all of this is kind of happening on with your boat and your boat you know it almost feels like it's a little Tower defy because you got your boater and things are coming from these different directions and you've got this tactical water map that actually tracks the position of your boat in the greater ocean and this is a boss battler in the best way uh it's cooperative and this is one of those games where and I always love this and I think you do too when you open up a new boss pack and just all of these components are there you're like oh this one has tentacles that come out of the water oh this one has whirpool tokens that go on the board oh this one has all these little mini monster tokens that are going to swarm you so like you can already tell like each boss is going to feel very different and bring some new gameplay mechanics into the game of course every time you play it's going to be different they say it's all variable uh the stuff that goes into your vot boat is variable the characters you're playing are variable the monsters you're playing have some variable different parts to them so it's going to feel like a very different experience even if you do play the same scenario multiple times yeah it looks really cool Ryan was telling me

9:07 about it and said also that recently at BGG con a lot of people getting a chance to play it and sound like people were digging it I I actually really want to try I like Cooperative games quite a bit it does look it does look pretty cool this next one is it Mighty shot that we're talking about Mighty shot Mighty shot this is also coming this week on game found um I'd not seen anything about this game I don't know I don't know that I've ever even seen anything from the publisher but this game looks like a kind of a lane battler like you have this this main board where I have a champion Ryan has a champion we have like Minions that we're putting out on all of these sort of nodes that go on in between us on like I don't know three or four lanes yeah and those nodes you know if we're occupying one of those nodes it's our chance to like win or maybe attack and things like that here's the hook a lot of the combat if not all of the combat is handled on this separate board that's only for you so I have mine Ryan has his imagine like cool looking uh shuffle board if Riot games made a shuffle board game that's what it would look like there's this board that you're actually doing sort of kocol style flicking into this Target and it looked like there were a couple like a few nodes in front of the target where like Ryan there's card play too Ryan could play cards that would allow him to place obstacles in my way but when you're attacking you're going to be using some skill which sounds like a lot of fun and the graphic design is what out of this world good I

10:39 feel like as soon as you realize there's any kind of like dexterity flicking element it brings you right back to those cocol roots do like myself some cocol so I I I kind of like the mashup there uh we only had a chance to see the preview page so I'm really interested to see what the full campaign looks like but they had what looked like at least three boxes that had Champions each so I imagine you can get all of those and get maybe up to six Champions yeah it looks like you could uh and you can play One V one you can even play 2v2 if you had enough boxes they say yeah the artwork in this thing um also looks incredibly similar to something like super fantasy brawl or I think you said or any Riot property definitely inspired it definitely has that Riot sort of vibe so we'll have to see what this is like I think I might reach out to them too and see if we could maybe get a prototype because it looks like a fun one maybe we'll live stream it on the channel love that is that it for the week yeah that is it don't did we talk about the MVM campaign yeah I I can't remember did we let us know in the comments if we already mentioned this but we're launching a campaign this Friday in all seriousness please come support us there check it out if you see some promos there that you might like or even if you don't we'll give you an opportunity to support us just and just do that for for the way of you know just if you want to be nice you know that's it uh but anyway we'll be back will'll we be be back next week I don't next week is Thanksgiving week well this week is Thanksgiving week week is Thanksgiving week I my timeline is all off we might be back there are some campaigns launching in December in fact there is a big one coming yeah that's true in December it's a it's a
