Pros
  • Wild amount of asymmetry between factions.
  • Skill-based mechanic with no dice rolling for faction combat.
  • Challenging dexterity element that is rewarding with practice.
  • Behemoths add a chaotic catch-up mechanic.
  • Infinitely expandable potential with new factions and behemoths.
Cons
  • Requires significant practice to master the dexterity aspect.
  • Some factions might be more difficult for new players.
  • Can feel overwhelming initially due to icon overload on the board.
Thematic elements
  • tactics, dexterity, card play
Comparison games
  • Crokinol
  • Dice Throne
Mechanics (from transcript analysis)
  • action selection — Players have three action tiles, choosing two actions per turn, which can be moving a minion, playing a card, or using a special shot/hero ability.
  • Area Control — Players vie for control of shared spaces on the board, which can provide an advantage by dealing damage to the opponent at the start of each turn.
  • asymmetric factions — Each player controls a unique faction with its own hero miniature, player board, deck of cards, and potentially other components, leading to different powers and playstyles.
  • Behemoth Events — When a player reaches low health, they draw a Behemoth card, introducing a powerful, chaotic element with dice-based effects (snoozing, heart for damage, or movement).
  • Card Play — Players use cards from their faction's deck to perform special actions, enhance their abilities, or set up shots. Discarding unwanted cards at the end of the turn is also a key aspect.
  • dexterity — Players flick discs, referred to as 'ammo tokens', to make shots at targets on the playmat. The success of a shot depends on the flick's power and accuracy.
  • Minion combat — Players attack opponent's minions using dexterity-based shots. Eliminating a minion deals damage to the opponent's hero equal to the minion's damage value.

Quotes (from this video)
  • It's a game of tactics. It's a game of dexterity.
  • This is 100% skill-based, I would say, as opposed to a lot of war games or even like tactical games where maybe you're rolling dice.
  • It is skill-based and that's a double-edged sword. It's skill-based, so there's not really a lot of luck, per se, but on the other hand, you better be good, you know?
  • If you're a fan of Crocinol, it might feel right at home for you.
