Good Kitties & Super Chonk
Transcript
Hello. So, today I'm here to tell you about two fantastic cat-themed games coming to Kickstarter on October 20th. These are from Peacock Games. So, if you've played Pirates of the High Teas, you know that they make fantastic games. These are prototypes, but the production is amazing. And while they are on crowdfunding, they are at a discounted price. So, I was sent these to show them to you. I like both of them because I do have two cats myself, and one is definitely chunky. We call him Tony Soprano when he sits on the couch looking like a boss. But, these are two great games that you can get at the same time. And they both have a fun, exciting, you know, light-hearted theme, but they both have surprisingly good strategy for the games that they are. So, first up, we have Good Kitties. Now, if you've ever owned a cat, they're not always so good. So, in this game, I describe it as Clue meets Die Hard meets Mousetrap. So, in this game, you have a house. Whoops. And there is furniture in this house because the cats can jump up on the furniture, and the dogs cannot.
This is a cooperative game, one to four players. So, you will be playing on this board, and you are going to be playing different missions. And these missions have different modes within them, ranging from, you know, your really easy mode, then things can not easy, but your basic mode, then you can have your frisky mode, and if you really want a challenge, you can go absolutely feral and play on the hardest mode. So, to win the game, you have to complete all of the objectives before a cat runs out of action cards, before the mice complete their objectives, and before several other things happen. So, you are in a race against time. You will be playing as one of these cats. Like I said, this reminds me of my cat. His name's Chandler, and or no, his name's Boo. I don't even know the names of my pets. My dog is Chandler, my cat is Boo. I have another cat as well, but we call Boo Tony Soprano because he sits on the couch acting like he rules the roost but actually he's the lowest on the pecking order of the three generally. So, the cats are moving about the board doing what they need to do to build contraptions to complete missions. Is one of the contraptions called murder mittens? Yes, it is. I love that. So again, it's got some things that are very like light-hearted and fun but it is a strategy game. You need to be able to move these cats around without the dogs getting to them and without too many mice moving around in the walls building up their world because ew, mice in the walls, you want to be able to stop that. You've got supplies entering the board. You're carrying things
around. You're moving. This is a great time, about an hour or so to play and it does play solo which is a huge plus for me as I really, really love solo board gaming. Especially sometimes cooperative. Cooperative for me is very group dependent. Then we have Super This is a game where you are trying to be the cat who gets treats, the most of them, so that you can become the chunkiest cat. This is a quick playing game which I love. 15 minutes, easy to teach, two to six players. So in this game, you're going to have some cards with numbers on them and there's going to be different bowls out there with treats on them. Think like Azul out there. But instead of carefully one at a time taking some things from it, no, no, no, these are cats. They're just going for it. So everyone's going to pick their card and once we've all meowed that we're ready, you're going to show your card to the bowl you're going to. If two players have the same number, they don't get anything from the bowl, they just get one treat from the bag. Then whoever went to the same bowl, you start with the lowest numbers and they take their treats first but they only take the number on their card. So playing a low number is great because you get to pick first but you get fewer treats. Paying a high number is great because you're going to get a bunch of treats. But if there's no treats left for you by the time it gets to your number, oh well, you get nothing. Then, at the end of the game before you go into final scoring, whichever stack of treats is your tallest, you are going to hairball those up, you know what I'm saying, because you got sick on those treats, and then you're going to count
up the rest of your treats. So, this game is a delight because it's so fast to teach, but it's a little bit of that like mind gamey, still has strategy going on, but it's just a cute and fun theme. I mean, who doesn't love a super chunky cat? So, those are the two games that will be crowdfunding starting October 20th on Kickstarter, Good Kitties and Super Chunk from Pink Hot Games. I'm excited to get final production versions of these cuz I cannot wait to have them and play them even more than I already have. So, let me know what you think. Give me a like and a follow, and I'll keep bringing you more board game content. Thanks. Bye.
