The survivalist big box has three massive new ways to play that maximize the survival experience for different adventuring parties.
Yeah, for three to six players, semi-bound it adds the switchback trail where your dog race up the mountain path every time you gather specific resources. It's a race for powerful one-time bonuses and even expert item cards with new action spaces helping your dog race ahead of the others and steal what you need to survive. But for the ultimate two-player tension, pup counter is essential.
It adds the pup cleanse board where your dog scavenge for rare loot. Every tile you take reveals a wolf. Passing by them is extremely dangerous forcing you to draw from the injury bag. It turns the two-player game into a tighter, more savage puzzle. You also get a gorge, a high-risk action that gives you instant resources but leaves you with a debt that can crush you in the final round if unpaid. But it also has one hell of a solo mode where you control a team of five survivors being hunted by a pack of wolves. There are 12 new ways to die. Survivors are paranoid, lost, overconfident, numb, and nauseous just to name a few. This solo mode is the ultimate survival test.
