The Adventure Store - Teach & Playthrough

Before You Play Sep 8, 2026
Transcript 1:36:59

Hi everyone, my name is Bunny

and I'm Naveen from Before You Play

and today we are joined by our good friend Michael for a three-player gameplay of a game that is currently on Kickstarter called The Adventure Store.

Yes, this game is designed by Taylor Riner and published by Inside Up Games, who are helping sponsor this playthrough. Now, in this game, players are taking on the roles of fighters who are fighting with each other over a series of eight trials to ultimately score the most amount of renown. We're going to improve our fighting style by buying equipment from the adventure store and ultimately try to be the champion.

That's right. This is a trick- taking card game for two to four players that plays in about 45 to 60 minutes in which each trial we are going to be participating in a mustfollow trick-T fight. And we'll also be purchasing more equipment from the adventure story in order to curate our own decks. And so today, as per usual, we are going to start with a teacher the game and go straight to a three-player playthrough. If later around, we'll include timestamps in the description below.

Now, we do have to mention this is a prototype copy of the game, so things are subject to change in the future. If you are interested in the game and the campaign, there's going to be a link in the description which you can check out. And lastly, if you like these kind of videos and you want to see more in the future, please consider subscribing.

And with that, let's start with the teach. All right, we are all set up here for a three-player game of the adventure store. Welcome to the arena where we are going to be duking it out in a series of trick-taking fights so that we can earn a lot of tips in the form of crowns and use those crowns to purchase items from the shop and of course earn renown because at the end of eight rounds, aka trials, the player with the most renown will win the game. But it's not going to be that simple because the various items in the shop will allow us to do some very nice and sometimes unfair things. And the shady shopkeeper themsself also has their own shopkeepers challenge which is going to award us points at the end of the game. Now the way the game works is each player has their own starting deck of 22 cards. And our decks are identical. Each round we're going to draw a hand of 11 cards from our deck.

And the cards in this game are comprised of combat cards which have a value in one of three different suits. And in our starting deck, the values will range from one to six. Although over the course of the game, we'll also be able to acquire higher valued cards. And the three suits represent the three different styles of fighting. We have brute strength, which is the fist purple suit, cunning wisdom, which is the brain yellow suit, and arcade magic, which is this blue scroll. In addition, each player will also have some augment cards, which we'll talk about in a second, as well as a special card called Eldress' Gambit. Now, the first thing that happens in each round before we actually start the fight is in reverse turn order, players will have the option to refine focus. And this essentially allows you to discard a single card from your hand face down to your discard pile. And the reason why you might want to do this is because there is an incentive to leave the fight early. And I'll talk about this later. But again, that decision is made in reverse turn order. Once that's done, then the fight begins. And this is actually called the ready fight phase of the round. starting with the first player and going clockwise. On your turn, you'll typically play a card from your hand because this is a trick- taking game after all. And so, the first player in the round, which is randomly determined for the first round of the game, is considered to be the lead player. And they may play any card from their hand.

Then, it'll be the next player's turn. And this is a mustfollow trick-Tak taking game, which means if you've never played trick taking before, if you have a card in your hand of the same suit, you are required to play it. So, let's just say the next player plays this card, which is a value two in Cunning Wisdom. And then the blue player plays the only yellow card they actually have in their hand, which is also a six. Then once all players have played one card, the trick ends. Then the player who played the highest valued card in the lead suit, which again is cunning wisdom, wins the trick. And in the case of a tie, which is going to happen since everyone has identical decks, the tied player who played their card earlier in the trick wins. And so in this case, the green player would win this trick. And in this game, whenever you win a trick, you gain five crowns from the tip jar.

So this is going to be the main way in which you earn money. Each of these half crowns is considered to be five because in this city, they split their coins. Then each player discards their played card into their own discard pile. So you will only be acquiring your own cards throughout the game. And cards that go into your discard pile go face down. Then the player who won the trick leads the next one by playing a card from their hand. So let's just say the next player plays a three in cunning wisdom. And now it's the blue player's turn again who doesn't have any more of the yellow suit in their hand. In that case, they are what's called to be shortsuited. And at that point, they can play anything which will typically make you automatically lose the trick. However, in future rounds, we will likely have what's called a favored style, which is basically the strongest fighting style or suit at any given time. In typical trick taking games, this is called the trump suit. And so if, for example, the favorite style happened to be brute strength and the blue player played a brute strength card because they didn't have any cards in the lead suit, then they instead would win the trick because as soon as a card is played of the favored style, then the player who played the highest value card in that style wins the trick. But because the game starts with no favored style, then the blue player automatically loses this trick. Now, in standard trick taking games, there's typically only one suit that is considered to be the Trump suit.

However, in the adventure store, the Trump suit can be any of the three suits. It just depends on which favorite style was chosen later in the round, which you'll see. In addition, the favorite style could sometimes also switch mid trial. But back to this example, the red player would win this time because they played the highest valued card in the lead suit. So, they would earn the crown. And again, these cards would get discarded and they would then lead the next trick. And that is typically how a standard trick ticking game works. Now, when playing the adventure store, this game has three special things that are sort of unique to it. The first thing is that players have what's called augment cards, and these are cards that modify your combat cards. You cannot play them on their own. And whenever you play a combat card, you can optionally play one of them to go alongside your card. Each player will start the game with three of them in our decks. And over the course of the game, we'll have the opportunity to purchase more unique uh augment cards in the form of these items. So for the next trick, since it is the red player's turn to start, they can start by playing the four of arcane magic and maybe they'll choose to add an augment to it, optionally playing the draw of vitality, which increases the total value to a five instead of just four. And again, even if they had multiple of these augment cards in their hand, you can only play one at most to pair with your combat card. Then it goes to the blue player's turn. And the next special thing that you can do in a round is you can do what's called a combat strike.

Which means if you're able to play a hand of cards that have the same total value as a player who went before you, which in this case is a five because again the total combat strength of the previous player is a five. Then you can play an additional card from your hand, but it must be of the same suit. So the blue player could add on this four of the same suit and now they have a total strength of nine, which of course is currently winning the trick. Then it would go to the green player's turn. And if they would like to combat strike, they need to have a combined total value of nine because again it's a player who went before you. And you have to match that value exactly. It does not have to be of the same suit though, and you may want to do that for very specific reasons. But typically, if you want to win the trick, you will want to match the lead suit. But instead of playing a combat card, they can do the third unique thing, which is playing the Eldress' Gambit card if they have it in their hand. When you play this card, you immediately lose the trick, but you also immediately gain five crowns from the tip jar. So, this is sort of a way for you to just gain the money anyway because again, money is how you're going to score points at the end of each round and also purchase cards from the store.

So, you really want to gain crowns in most cases. And that's essentially how a fight works. Now again, we are going to see some cards via the items in the shop that allow players to do some unique things, but we'll sort of talk about those cards as we play the game. Now, as soon as you run out of cards, then you leave the arena. And the player who's able to do that first takes the initiative token, which is great because whenever you take the initiative token, you immediately score two renown. And again, renown are the points in the game. At the end of the game, it really doesn't matter how much money you have left. All that's going to matter is how much renown you scored. In addition, when we talk about the shopping phase, all cards that you purchase there, you'll be able to place at the top of your draw deck instead of your discard. So, that can be quite strong as well. And whoever has the initiative token will always start each phase. But keep in mind that as long as you still have combat cards or Eldress's Gambit in your hand, you are not allowed to leave the arena. You are required to continue playing. However, if your hand is comprised of only augment cards, then these cards get discarded and you do leave the arena because these cards cannot be played on their own. Now, if in the next round I have the initiative token and I leave the arena first again, I would not be able to score the two renown and instead I would flip the token over. So, it's only if you take the initiative token from someone else do you score the two renown. Then as soon as all players have left the arena, this phase ends and we move into the next phase where we are going to score renown based on the amount of crowns each player has earned during the fight.

Now before scoring renown, there is a sneaky way for a player who did not do very well to take the first place points in the trial. And this is a shoot the moon mechanic, which basically means you're kind of losing. So you do something great for you to be able to score something really high in this game. If you happen to end the fight with zero crowns because you did not win any tricks basically and you're able to last until the very last trick of the fight, you shoot the moon and instead of scoring the last place points, you steal first. Because during this phase, the player who earned the most amount of crowns will typically score the first place points followed by the next highest amount of crowns and so on and so forth. But if someone was able to successfully steal first, then all other players would just slide down in ranking. So, whoever earned the most crowns would instead score the second place points and so on and so forth. And in the case of a tie, tied players score the same amount of points of that ranking. But then you would skip the next place points in ranking. So, as an example, if two players tied for first, they would both earn the first place points, but then you would skip the second place points and whoever earned the next highest would score the third place points. And the amount of points that players earn is dependent on which trial number we're in. So in trial one, first place earns three renown, second place earns two, third place earns one, and fourth place earns zero. But as an example, during the eighth trial, the first place will earn 15 renown, followed by 10, seven, and four. So it does get much higher as you uh play the

game. Then once all renown has been awarded, we move into the adventure store phase where players are going to be taking turns shopping for items in the store. However, before we start shopping, the shopkeeper is both a very shady and kind fellow because they offer assistance to the single player who scored the least renown this trial. Now, the important thing though is the keyword is single player. So, if players were tied for the least amount of points, then nobody will gain their assistance. So, for this one player, this shopkeeper will basically offer for them to take a single item from the shop of their choice. But they must also discard the rest of their crowns, which means they're only gaining one item this round. Now, this could be very useful because, as you'll see during this phase, players will only be allowed to purchase items from the bottom shelf.

And so, if this player sees something they really want to get in the top shelf, this is their opportunity to do so. In addition, if they accept the shopkeeper's help, at the end of the round, they'll also be allowed to determine the favored style for the next round, which again is going to be the Trump suit, the strongest suit for that round. However, this is optional. So, if they'd like to, they can decline the shopkeeper's help. And if so, we'll just start shopping as normal. But if they do accept, then they get to take their card first. And that's not all. Because for all players who ended the fight with zero crowns in their possession, the shopkeeper feels very bad for you and they will actually give you the amount of crowns equal to whoever earned the most. And that's for all players who ended with zero crowns. Afterwards, starting with a player who has the initiative token and going clockwise.

During this phase, on your turn, you must either purchase a card from the lower shelf or you can pay five crowns to trash a single card from the lower shelf. which you [snorts] want to do if you want to take cards away from other people or if you want to sort of bring in a card from the top shelf to the bottom shelf. Or the third option is you can choose to pass. But if you pass during this phase, then you are passing for the rest of the round. So you cannot jump back in to purchase items later. And when purchasing an item, the item cards have the cost at the top right hand corner of the card. And again, you must purchase an item from the lower shelf, and it has to be the topmost card because depending on the type of cards, some of them will have different cards in its stack that pertain to the different suits and such. And when purchased, these cards go to the top of your discard pile, unless you have the initiative token, in which you'll get to decide if you'd like to place the card on top of your draw deck instead, which is very, very powerful. And if at the start of your turn, one of the slots in the bottom shelf is empty, then before you take your turn, you get to choose which stack from the top shelf to place in that empty slot. And then you'll take your turn. And that's essentially how the adventure store phase works. Players are going to be taking turns going clockwise until all players have passed in which this phase ends. And I know I did not go over any of the cards here.

Just know that the cards are going to be a combination of really strong cards in a single suit. So we have a couple of tens here. We'll also see augment cards that allow you to modify the combat value. And a lot of these augment cards also come with a special ability that you will resolve immediately when you play the card. And they'll allow you to do things such as drawing additional cards or trashing cards from your discard pile. Because as you can see, this is a deck builder of sorts. And in our specific gameplay, we will also have the ability to purchase additional Eldress' Gambit cards because each player will only start with one of them in their decks. Now, there are more of these item cards that come with the game. And the rule book has curated sets that you can choose to play with, or you can also just randomize the items like we did here. But once we finish shopping, we move into the cleanup phase where we advance the round marker. We'll also draw a new hand of 11 cards to start the next round. And we'll also reshuffle our discard pile if necessary.

Then, after seeing our hands, if a player accepted the shopkeeper's help, they now get to determine what the favorite style will be for the next round. And they can choose literally any of these four options. So if it was already on cunning wisdom, they can choose to leave it there or they can also choose to just return it to this bottom space here, which represents no favorite style. Then we begin the next trial in the ready fight phase. At the end of the fifth trial though, the shop will close. So keep in mind that the adventure store phase where we actually purchase these cards is only going to occur in rounds one through five. Once the shop closes, we enter the last three trials 6 through 8, which is considered to be the showcase. At that point, you still play the rest of the game the same way, earning crowns, but the difference is that the crowns will only serve to earn you renown points. You will not be using them to purchase any more cards.

And one thing that I didn't mention is at the end of each round, any leftover crowns you have actually get discarded because you cannot carry these crowns over from round to round. And finally, at the end of the eighth trial, before the game ends, we are going to score one final thing, which is the shopkeepers challenge. Now, the game comes with several of these uh challenge cards, and each time you play, you'll just choose one. For our gameplay today, we are playing with Streamline, which wants you to have the fewest cards in your deck. So, this card basically wants you to trash cards whenever possible because a player who has the fewest cards will score eight additional victory points, and the second place will score four. And after we've scored this card, then the game ends and the player who has the most renown at that point wins. And that's essentially how you play the adventure store. Now, a couple of things to keep in mind is that because this is a prototype copy of the game, some things will be different for the final version. In the final copy, in addition to the final shopkeepers challenge, there will also be in-game objectives that you'll be scoring during the game.

And you'll also have the option of flipping over your player mats to use an asymmetric ability instead of just a standard mat. But otherwise, that's essentially it. So, let's go ahead and get started with our playthrough.

Okay, we are all set up. We're ready to go. We each drew 11 cards from our deck. Uh, we had to figure out who is going to be going first, and it's going to be Michael today.

Yeah, randomly determined. Yay.

Now, today I'll be playing as a blue player, and we are not going to be playing with the asymmetric sides. We're doing the standard sides of our player mats.

I'll be playing the green player.

Yep. And I'll be red, of course.

We each start the game with 10 crowns. So, we do have some money in our pockets. And the items in the adventure store are random. So, we use a randomizer to determine which items are actually going to be featured in our store. And this is what we have today.

Sure.

So, we'll go over these as we play. Now, again, we're going to be playing a total of eight trials. And we can only visit the adventure store in trials 1 through 5 because trials 6 through 8 are the showcase in which we're going to be showing off our curated decks. Mhm.

And our end of game shopkeeper challenge card is called streamlined, which basically says have the fewest cards in your deck at the end of the game. The player that does that gets eight victory points. Second place gets four, and if there's a tie, then you both get eight, and third place does not get the four.

Right. And in the final version of the game, there will also be in-game objectives. Our prototype did not come with them, so we're not going to be playing with them today, but just keep that in mind. All right, are you guys ready to start trial one?

I'm ready. Let's see what you got.

Okay, so Michael is going to be our lead player. But first, before we start the actual fight, uh, in reverse turn order,

starting with me.

Yep.

Is that me? And then going counterclockwise, we get to decide if we would like to refine focus by discarding one card from our hands into our discard pile.

So, you might want to do that if maybe you're thinking about uh exiting the arena early, earlier than everybody else.

I think it's the first trial. I'm not going to refine. I say no.

How about you?

Uh, I will. Oh no,

I got rid of one card. Just one card.

I really make the wrong decision.

I also will get rid of one card. Nice.

Oh, nice. Just one. Just one.

I should have.

Maybe.

Now I Now I should have.

It depends on how many augments you have in your cart.

Well, I'm going to I'm going to combo strike. That's why I kept my hand. Anyway, that is it. So, let the first fight begin, Michael.

Okay. The current favorite style is nothing because we just started the game. So with that in mind, I'm just going to go aggressive at the start with a six of brute strength

leading with brute

strength

strength and six is the highest valued card

in our decks currently

for each of the different

uh fighting styles.

Now again, this is a must follow trick taking game. So if I have a card with that lead suit, then I must follow it. I happen to have that right now. So I will play a six as well. Oh,

and so because I have matched Michael's total value, which is a six and a six, I can do a combo strike. So, I'm going to add another card to it

of the same suit.

So, now it is a nine,

right? Because it must be the same suit and it must be matching the total strength of the previous player.

Yeah. So, previously,

right before

Michael played a single six. I happen to also play a single six and so therefore I'm doing exactly that. So then it goes to me. And if I would like to also combo strike, I now have to match a nine,

which I don't I can't.

It's not possible with our default deck.

In the future, maybe because you can play a combat card plus an augment card, which is one of the cards that augmented value, but not right now. So I'm not going to be able to win this.

Nope.

But still, I must follow. So I'm going to play a one.

Yeah. Okay,

there you go. Fist of cuffs. All right.

Now that we each have played our cards, there is no favorite style. So, the winner is whoever played the highest total value of the lead suit, which is going to be

N. That's nine. So, as a winner, I get

you get five crowns.

Crowns.

Congrats from currency.

So, now we

all your cards go into your discard pile. Unlike other trick- taking games where you start collecting all the cards, you keep your cards into uh your own deck's discard pile,

right? Because this is sort of a unique style game where each player has their own deck that we're going to be curating rather than just one deck of cards that we're going to be divvying out. Yep. So Naveen won that trick. Yeah. You start the next one.

I do the next one.

Yeah.

Okay.

Okay. I am going to just pass the buck.

I will lead us with some wisdom. Yeah. One wisdom.

What does Michael have in his hand?

Everything.

I'm going to play I have to follow with wisdom. And I'm playing a five. This is terrorize Michael.

Yeah.

Please.

Please. What? Please play a five and then combo strike.

No combo strike.

I'll just do a very simple

six. That was worse.

All right, Michael's next.

Michael wins this. The crowd goes wild. So, you get a tip. These are tips from the tip jar.

And now Michael will lead.

Okay.

Even though I wasn't successful with brute strength, I'm going to be brute about it and keep on trying. So, five brute strength head.

Yes.

Okay. Okay. Okay. I see that.

What are you thinking?

I will play a five. I'll match you, Michael.

Yeah.

Are you going to combo strike?

I am going to combo strike with the four on top of it. That makes it a nine again. Naveen,

let's find you're gonna just go out strong and then just exit out with like 30 coins and then

that's the point. Yeah, that's the goal.

All right. Well, I will follow with a two

with a hot cupa. So, Navian wins this one.

I do.

Here's your tip.

Thank you.

So, now you lead the next one.

So, now it's me.

I

fortunately the first trial is has the least amount of two and one.

So, whoever loses this can, you know, get some nice

Yeah. the the points kind of scale up as the the game.

Right now, we're we're fighting for shopping power right now. This is how exactly how good of a start are we going with.

That's what you really want.

All right. Just like last time, let's just uh lead it off with the one.

With a one.

Yes. In uh

just you and me back.

Exactly.

Um I'm going to play a four with an augment card. So, this is

my four plus my rune of cleansing. So, it's a total of five. It's a total value. Okay.

Um, but this uh augment also has a special ability that says I can trash one card from my discard.

Yep.

So, I'm getting I'm getting this uh trashing early and I think I'm going to trash this card. So, technically you're supposed to trash underneath your mat, but I'm just going to trash off screen.

Yeah.

And then refer to it if necessary. All right. That's me.

Yeah. And so, you have a total value of five.

Yes. Five.

And I happen to have

the masttorm five.

No. And so I will combo strike into an eight.

Eight. Okay.

And I And I take this fight.

Yes. Because had Michael not combo stricken and just matched that five. Whoever plays the value earlier in the case of a tie wins.

So Michael, however, did combo strike. So you win this one.

Thank you.

There's your five crowns.

I am having a rough fight over here.

You might get the shopkeeper's help. I'm gonna be the underdog.

The starting underdog.

Everybody roots for the underdog.

We just talked about how it's there's no big like penalty for losing, you know.

Yeah, that's true.

Okay. Third time is the charm. Brute strength.

Go brute strength.

I'm I'm brute. I'm brute about it.

Okay.

Cattails.

Cattails.

All right. I am going to reveal something about me.

Oh,

magic. This is a mustfollow game. So, this is basically me indicating that I do not have brute strength.

We already saw you play four of them. Because if ever you do not have the lead suit in your hand, you can play anything.

So if there was a favorite style, this would be Naveen's opportunity to play that style, but unfortunately not.

So then it goes to me.

Yeah. And you're looking to match Naveen's three if you want to combo strike over my four.

Right. I will play my three. Okay.

Which technically matches Naveen's three,

but I will not combo strike. I'm choosing not to combo strike. Choosing

choosing

just you just so you know.

So Michael,

just you know, Michael.

Okay.

So Michael winces, look at all your money.

It's a good start.

I don't like that we started with money.

Yeah, cuz you're shooting the moon. If you didn't start with money,

would have been awesome.

Okay. And so then Naveen showed us some magic last time. You're shedding that.

I'm gonna

Are you card counting?

No, just a little bit of knowledge. Polymorph.

Polymorphs. You got a four. Well, I am going to I do have m magic. So, I'm going to play my five and augment it.

So, that makes it a six.

Oh my gosh, you guys have really

strong hands.

Strong hands. Like unfathomably strong. That means your next round is not going to be as strong.

No, it's going to be 22 cards in our deck. Garbage.

You start with 11. You start with half of your deck.

Yes.

So, all right. That's me.

There you go.

So, Nine, you win this one.

All right. Well,

I have to tell you something.

Is anyone out yet?

I'm out. Ah, all I have is an augment card.

There it was.

Oh, wow.

So, you cannot play an augment card as like just a standalone card. So, because this is my final card, I am out of the round. This will just go into my discard pile.

I gain

the initiative token.

Initiative token, which is great.

Why?

So, uh because it has a couple things. Uh so, basically that, uh I get two points for for taking it right now. So, immediately two points. That's good. uh when we go into purchasing cards from the adventure store,

all cards I purchase can go on top of my deck. So, I know we said that I would be potentially weak, right? Because we I had a nice hand this time, but I can take the cards I purchase here and put it on top and technically have access to them right away.

Yep.

Wow. That was a power move for all trying to do this though. So,

but Naveen will lead the the next trial.

Yes, exactly. So, there's a little bit of

Okay. I assume you're still able to play. I'm still in. As long as you have combat cards and or Eldress's gambit, then you are still in the arena.

Okay.

So, it's going to be Michael and I. So, you're still in, right?

Yeah. And so, Naveen was going to lead cuz he just won or Yeah, you just won that. So, now the next it just goes to the next player.

I'm going to lead.

Yeah.

Yeah. You won, buddy.

Did Michael play already? Okay. I'm playing four in wisdom with my draw of vitality. So, it's a five.

It's a five. Two. Okay. Nice.

So many fun.

Oh my gosh. I'm sorry.

Now your helping hand is like a little

My helping hand.

Yeah. If you choose to take it.

Oh yeah. I don't know if I'm gonna

We'll see.

Are you still in?

I'm still in.

Okay.

One more.

Uh yes. Bribe

three makes it a four.

Ah.

Yeah.

Okay.

Bump town.

I'll take another one. You

still in?

I'm still in.

All right. Let's see it.

Three.

Well, you're always going to win that lottery.

Oh,

you got a happy accident. This is a lot of this this is a lot for round one.

It's really nice. Keep in mind that at the end of the

you don't want too many cards.

You don't want too many cards in your deck.

So get them, use them, trash them. Okay.

Right. So that is the end of the trial technically. So now we are going to gain renown. Now, the thing is in future trials, we could have somebody shooting the moon where if somebody ends the entire trial with no money and they lasted until the very last fight,

then they would immediately steal first place. That is not the case here. So, we're skipping that step and we are just going to rank ourselves in terms of how much money we have.

Yep.

So, how much money do you guys have?

35.

Michael has 35. I have 25. And you have 15.

15. Which means Michael gets the first place.

So Michael's green. So he's going to go there.

Three. What? What's the distribution?

3 2 1.

3 2 1.

So I'm going to get two points

and then he will get one point.

I get one.

This is just very like it. This is going to get significant later. Yeah.

All right. So now we move into the shopkeeper phase. We're going to purchase some stuff. But first, the shopkeeper is feeling a little bit bad for me.

Yes. And so each trial, the shopkeeper is going to lend a helping hand to the player who earned the least amount of points in the renowned step

only if they were the only player who earned the last place renown,

which is me. So I now have a decision to make. I must decide whether or not I would like to accept the shopkeeper's helping hand. And if so, that'll allow me to just take any one card, any single card from the entire shop and place it on top of my discard. Yeah, because traditionally when you go into this phase, you we only have access to this bottom shelf here, this bottom row. But with the helping hand of the shopkeeper, Monique can pick any one of these cards and not pay for it.

Which is not bad cuz I only have 15 crowns because the other benefit is at the end of this entire round, I get to choose what the favorite style is for the next trial.

And you know, we might have weak hands, so you might just run the table.

And that's after I draw my cards. So, it's in it's, you know, it's informed an informed decision. I'm going to accept.

I'm accepting the helping hand. And the reason why is because each player only has one Eldress's Gambit card. Yes.

In our decks. And these cards are really nice because they immediately make you lose the trick, which doesn't sound nice, but you'll also immediately get five crowns. So, it's kind of like you want the reward of winning. You don't have to you don't have to lead the next trick, which is usually not the best, you know. So, in order for me to accept this helping hand, I have to discard all my money.

Yep.

Because that's kind of the deal.

It's almost like you just bought it for the 15, right? Like that's just kind of the way the math worked out there.

15. I wouldn't have had access to it anyway. So, and there's only four of them.

Yes.

So, you you know, might as well get started on it. So, that goes to the top of my discard pile because I do not have the initiative token. Yep.

All right. And that is it for me. I am now out. So, we're now going to truly begin the shopping. Yep.

With Naveen.

Let the shopping begin.

She has the initiative token.

There you go. So basically my options here are I can purchase uh depending on the cost of any card in the bottom shelf here. Uh I can also spend five crowns which is basically one of these tokens to trash any one card.

Uh and there might be reasons for why you want to do something like that. Maybe you want to burn the bridge behind you if you have a really good card and there's only one left

or if you want to filter in the cards from the top because once a stack empties. Yeah. Then the next player get who is up in the shopkeeping phase gets to basically choose which cards fill in that gap.

Yes. Which

sack?

Or I can pass and basically be out for the rest of the round which I'm definitely not going to do right now.

Yep.

And if you're curious, shall we go over the bottom row here?

Yeah, let's do it.

So first here we have Helm of Echo because again we randomized these so we actually don't know what we're having here. This is going to cost five crowns. It is a minus one augment card. Yep.

So, it's a modifier there, but it allows you to draw one card and then you must discard one card from your hand.

Yeah. So, you get to see basically a 12th card and then just get rid of the one card and put it into your discard pile that you don't want.

Yes. And any of these special abilities, unless it says May, you must do it. Just so you know, this is just a value 10 in brute strength. It cost 10 rounds. So, that's a Warhammer. This is the Adling Gauntlet. Maybe it's Adling. Adling Gauntlet. So, there's one for each of the three uh styles. And so we don't know the order of them. If you're going to purchase one, you have to purchase the top ones. You'll be purchasing the wisdom. Okay.

It costs five crowns. And this basically says if Trump was this style, then when you play it, Trump changes to no trump.

So basically there's no favorite style.

You kill you kill the yellow at that point. Okay.

This one here is Eye of the Seir. It costs 10 crowns and it's a plus two augment card. And you draw two cards, but you must trash one of them.

So that's trash. That might be a good thing, but

but it could also hurt you if you draw two really nice cards and you're like, I must now trash one of these two.

That is risky.

And finally, we have the triumphant banner. There are only two copies of this card in this deck. It costs 10 crowns and basically it is a two value of brute strength and it also now changes the favorite style to brute strength.

Oh, right in that fight. So if you were short suited and you played that and now it's Trump and you might win with a two.

Amazing.

Okay, so it's me to purchase first. Yeah.

Uh I am going to spend 10 to get this 10 value. This uh

ah

the air the Warhammer.

The Warhammer. Now because I have this uh token, I get to put it on top of my deck. So I know for a fact that's coming to me. Yeah.

Yep.

That's good.

All right. That goes to Michael.

I am going to take that triumphant banner. Even though Naveen just took

that same fighting style, I think it will be kind of a sneaky thing to pop up. And I like I like being sneaky.

Oh my gosh. You guys are going to have wild decks.

Yeah. Next, I will I will spend five and just see what happens here. I'm going to I'm going to take that Adling Gauntlet.

Okay. It's also a five. Like that's nothing to scoff at. Right.

Scoffing.

Nothing to scoff at.

So now the has revealed the stifling gauntlet, which is basically the same thing but for magic.

Okay. And I'm going to go what I actually was H. No, no, never mind. I'm actually going to do with my original thought, which is this eye of the sear. You guys both thought it was a little too risky. Well, that's my middle name.

Okay.

H Michael Chaos master.

It's a plus two, which is nice. And then just just roll the bones. You get to see two cards and then throw one away.

We do want to trash cards, right? Like because if you want the 8VP at the end, that's kind of important.

I hope for you to trash your highest values.

I'll be h happy to. I'm just making my deck smaller and worse.

Yeah, that's

You know what? I'm just going to do it again. I'm going to buy another one of these. Why not?

Okay.

War. Especially if Michael's going to

especially if I'm making it Trump. I'm supporting you.

Supporting my

a little bit.

It's okay, Monique. You bought one of these.

It's not okay, Navin.

Yeah, I know.

All right. What is better than a little bit of chaos? Well, a little bit. A lot of chaos. I'm doing it again. I

Oh my gosh,

Michael. [clears throat]

I the seer.

We got them all in there. Naveen,

I'm out. Okay. Okay. And so I got five crowns left.

This one. This one.

Or I could trash a card or pass. But if I do pass, this money is thrown away. You don't get to keep your money between

uh rounds.

But it's interesting because this is our challenge here.

Do you want to just have an extra card for no reason?

That's going to cost you potentially eight or four points.

All right. I think for my last purchase, I'm going to get a helm of echo.

You're doing it.

Yes. I have I just I just drew like three augments or I purchased three augments and then got one. Okay.

Yeah, I want more augments in my deck.

All right.

Interesting.

So, now we go to the end of trial phase. We are going to move to trial number two.

We're going to draw our new hand of 11 cards. And then afterwards, I get to decide our favorite style, which is definitely not droo strength because I know I know that Naveen uh purchased a bunch of those tens.

So, we'll see.

That's good. Could win them the traditional way.

Yes.

Yeah. Well, don't get trumped on. Don't don't get your tens.

You won't, Naveen. You won't. All right. For the favorite style, I could choose to leave it here and say nothing,

but I think I'm going magic.

Okay,

so the blue arcane magic is going to be the strong suit, which again is going to to win the trick if it is in play. The highest value of that suit if it is in play.

All right, so let's go ahead and move into trial number two. This time the lead player is Naveen because she has the initiative. Yep.

And so Michael,

what?

You get to refine focus. do get the

trash a card or discard a card. Not trash. Yeah,

you know I do. You know I do. There it is. It is discarded.

Oh,

are you shooting the moon this time, Michael?

No.

Right. I mean,

so now I get to choose. You get to choose.

I will.

You're going to do it?

I'm going to do it.

All right.

I have refined focus.

I I'll do it.

Yeah.

Yeah. Since you guys both did it, I'll do it.

All right. Well, Nine, please take it away.

Lead.

What shall you lead with?

10.

I'm going to do a 10. It's the uh Grim Jar Warhammer.

I'm going to play Eldress's Gambit. Nice.

So, you can play this card uh even if you do have cards in the same suit because it is not a combat card. And this basically uh makes me lose a trick immediately, but I gain five.

So, you get the reward of winning a trick, but I'm auto losing.

Okay. I will just limp in with a two of brute strikes. There you go.

Nice. In the game. There you go.

I'll take that.

And then you lead again. Well, it's early enough. Let's just do it. 10.

Another 10.

I hope you all

Before we don't short suit on it.

Exactly. Before you don't short suit.

All right. I'll go

make money.

Four.

The blender bus.

Three. Fish hook cut.

Cool.

That's the game.

I'll take it.

They They earned their keep.

They did? Yeah. Yeah.

I spent two of them to to get half their money back, right? Because I spent 20 total and now they're still

You got 10 for it.

Still around.

All right. Okay. Let's just see what everybody's got. Two.

Two

strength.

Let's just see what everybody's got.

I don't remember what I don't remember what they played last round.

That would have been helpful. All right, I'm going to play my six with a plus with my draw of vitality. So, it's a seven.

Seven strength. Michael,

you're not going to like me.

Oh.

Oh, he plays the the

You're a short student.

I am. We played two of them.

He played a ton of these last time. played so many of those last time.

It's rough.

Thank you,

Michael. Be kind.

I'm being kind to myself. Self love.

All right,

so nobody's trying to shoot the moon because all of us have at least one token. So that's that.

Um I am going to go and lead with a six of uh wisdom

wisdom.

And I will take my time to trash a card.

May trash one card from your discard. So he's definitely going to do that. Okay.

Okay. So since you did that, I will play a six to match you.

H

uh but I will I will not do a combo strike. I will augment it though. So

Oh, interesting.

Same card that Michael did. So um

total is seven.

So my total is seven to Michael's six. Uh I may trash one card from my discard. So I'm going to

This is trash card. I'm going to hold it here for you.

Thank you.

So the fact that Naveen matched it with a six is really irrelevant.

Yes. It wasn't It wasn't a match. It was It wasn't a match. It was a seven. He was telling us he could have,

but he's so cool. He doesn't need to.

I see.

Exactly right now. That's exactly it. So,

Naveen,

I trashed a card. Okay.

All right. Um, I'm going to just play my six. That's it.

Oh, solid win for me.

So, wins that one.

I will take that for sure. Okay, cool.

All right. Nine is the villain.

No, Michael villain.

Oh, yeah. I'm winning.

But it's early.

It's very early.

Very, very early. All right. Let's just play a five.

Five.

Mhm.

Okay. This is if Trump was uh

wisdom

wisdom

then the Trump changes changes to no trump. That's not the case. It's just a five.

I'm going to uh I'm going to play this card.

So again, I do not have I'm short suited. I do not have that suit. So I'm playing the favorite style. Yep.

She's currently winning. Let's see what Michael can do.

I can do exactly what would make you upset.

What is going on?

You're shorted in both.

Yes. You just have these. I chose the wrong chose the wrong one.

I chose the wrong style.

Oh, Michael, you win this one.

There you go.

Thank you.

Go a three to my two.

Okay,

that's pretty good, Michael.

We'll start off with a seven

of of Trump.

Seven of Trump.

Okay. I have my Eldress Gambit.

Okay. Appropriate appropriate.

So, I lose a trick immediately and I gain five.

You gain five. There you go. All right. There's my one.

Mhm. So, Michael wins that one. I shouldn't have won this one.

You should have tried to shoot the moon.

Yeah, you could have shot the moon. Yeah. On that one, Michael.

Uh, I will play my Eldress's gambit and get another five.

Okay, so because Michael led with this, Naveen is going to actually

the true suit.

I'll say the six.

Oh,

finally something. I can combo strike.

Yes, you're going to combo.

Six.

There it Oh, wow. H.

Oh, by the way, I was out the moment I played Eldress' Gambit. So, I will take the initiative token and I will get two points.

Nice. All right. So, I win this one.

Dang it.

Are you still in, of you?

I am still in.

Okay. Player.

Dang it.

I'm going to lead with my all powerful five.

My five and brute strength.

I will at you.

Okay. So, you don't have anything anymore?

No. No.

There you go.

But that's a trump suit. So there you go.

And I end the trial with two two five man.

Not great.

That's too bad. Oh well,

you end with the most money.

Do I?

What is too bad about that?

That is nice. That is nice.

All right.

Oh, barely. Yeah, just by one.

Yep.

So, just like in the last trial, nobody gets the two shoot the moon. No,

I should have tried. I should have tried to win zero.

It would have been great because then I would have been able to take first.

You chose the trumpsuit, though. So, like you think you're going to win some, you know, like it just Michael was short.

Michael ended up having really a lot of that that favorite style. All right. So, then who has the most money?

Uh, I have five of them. So, I have 25.

So, and the the renown is

four. So, I get four.

What's the What's the whole thing?

Four to one.

Four to one.

So, I'm going to go here. Michael has four. I'll take two.

He gets two. One, two, and then Monique.

I get one.

Okay.

Ah, there I am.

All right. So, I get the shopkeeper help offer again, which I should probably take

probably

because I only have 10. I'm wondering if I should just take this or do I be the 10 in wisdom?

There's also trashing cards to go with the

streamlined. But I already have that.

Okay.

Cuz I only purchased I only acquired one card last trial.

Yeah. And we already we purchased like

purchased a bunch. So, I feel like trashing cards might might be to my detriment.

Um

the plus three augmentation is very good.

Yeah. You do have tens now. Like what am I doing at this point? Am I like plus three on my three?

And he might draw him again because he's about to

reop. It's rough. So it's almost like I wonder do I take the this 10 so I can match if I'm going after Naveen every single time. You know what I mean?

How are you going to win if you're following Naveen all

because I can combo strike 10?

Okay.

Because if I don't do that, if I if I zag and I take a different suit, you know what I mean?

Yeah. It's hard to say. It's just you have access to yellows and we have access only to purple.

I'm just gonna zag. I'm gonna take the yellow one since it's in the top shelf.

Yep.

So, I just feel like nobody It's special. It's my

Nobody has access to it right now. Yeah.

Yeah.

For now. For now.

For now. Here.

For now.

Yeah.

So, then Michael this time.

Okay. I get first grab and I have initiative so I can put these to guarantee a draw. And I think I will follow Naveen.

Are you taking that purple thing? No, I'm going with I'm going with this hammer. Purple hammer right in there.

Man, I I don't want to buy this thing, but I'm going to buy it

with the purple trump.

Yeah. This thing because

Oh, okay.

I don't want you to have two of them just sitting on top. Yep.

So,

so now you have three of them. Three of them. Yeah.

Has three.

It's in my discard pile. Yeah. So, now uh Michael, you get to choose which one comes in.

I might be going for the purging flame, but I think even more chaotic is the surge bracer. If you lose This trick lose $5, but it's augment is times two. Okay.

So hopefully you know that you're going to win when you play it. And I'm going to put that.

Oh, so wait. So you're you're purchasing this.

You're going to he's basically

Oh, sorry. Yeah. Starting your turn if the slot in the bottom shelf is empty. Yep. And you can choose any stack, but you

And you don't even have to buy what you bring down. But I

Yeah, you don't have to buy what you're bringing down.

So let's let's go back into proper order. Let's bring this in. Let's put that back. And then

now obviously

and this is for Wait, I can't even purch this.

Let's back everything up. What am I doing?

Back it up.

Do I Do I go and join Mon'nique in wisdom? No, you don't want me to bring that down. I know. I know you don't want me. I'm going to do my initial instinct then and get even more trashing

going on.

Okay, so that's going to cost.

So interesting, Michael.

So you may trash two cards

from your discard. might just like knowing that we want to keep our deck as lean as possible. I'm I'm going to do that same thing. I'm going to buy it.

Okay.

For 10. There we go.

And I pass. So now it's back to you again.

So I have a five. Um All right. I'm going to spend this five and I'm going to take the stifling gauntlet.

Oh, you you have two st I have two of them now. So

you can really control

the favorite style. That's not good. Maybe it's just going to

Yeah. So you have both the counters of the trumps that you worked out

have on. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah, cuz you're strong in purple and now you have anti

blue and yellow.

Yes, exactly.

Okay,

some trouble.

I hope that'll work out for me. Yeah. So, pass.

All right, you're passing, right?

Yeah. And then you use a shopkeeper's help, right? So, you're not supposed to have that money.

That is correct. I have to discard all my crowns. Everybody discards their crowns in the end anyway. Y,

but I just acquired one card. So, we're moving into trial three. Let's draw our hand of 11 cards.

It's going to be 532.

I get to choose the favorite style.

We all have to shuffle our decks. Um, I need to draw eight cards. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. All right.

So, let's see.

So, now we now the deck building and like what shows up, you know, we'll be able

You were a little ahead of schedule.

Yes,

I'm now a tiny bit ahead of schedule, but all of us are a fresh new shuffle deck. Anything can show up.

And Monnique is deciding what is going to be the trump suit.

Yes.

The favorite style

clearly, right? Brute strength is

I think who do you have the one? No, you do.

I have a 10 on brute strength.

We know for a fact Michael has a 10 on top.

This is true.

Let's go with some wisdom.

Okay.

So, actively avoiding brute strength as much as humanly possible. All right. So, who is going first in this trial? You

I am. So, you

So, then I get to refine focus first. Let's go with this card.

I've discarded my card.

Uh I will do the same. I'm going to discard one.

Okay, Michael.

I am going to discard one as well.

Okay.

All right.

We all have 10 cards going into this one. Okay. Take it away.

Take it away.

The fight begin.

Okay, I'm going to start with a kind of a weird start, I think, with a four augmented down to a three. I get [clears throat] to draw a card and then discard a card.

Or augmented down to a three.

Yes. Okay.

I'm not trying to win it.

Total value is three in Magic.

Yep.

And I play the Helm of Echo. So now you must discard a card from

drawing a card. Discard.

I drew one and I know I'm discarding one.

All right. I'll play a four Holy Ritual.

Whoa. Okay.

Okay.

Just a four.

So, you're you're winning this one.

Just a four.

Okay. Well, I'll just play one. A happy accident.

Oh.

Of the favorite style.

She's short, too. Already short. Wow.

Okay, that's good.

Okay.

Mons needs to make some money.

I've got some money. I need to make some money. It is true.

All right, but now I must begin. Let's just start with some gambiting.

Just punting it down.

I'm going to punt it down. So, I lose this trick, but I gain five.

Nice. H, that's tricky. I'm just going to go with a 10 and we'll see how Naveen shuffling was.

Oh, I love this. I love that this is what you're playing.

Doing my gambit. My gambit time.

That's good. I'm just competing with this guy over here.

Yeah. Play your 10.

Okay.

Play

10. Uh, strike combo. Strike.

Yes, of course. Yes. 12.

All right. So, wins that one. Get 12.

Combat strike with your other 10.

20.

Get him out of here. Get out of here.

All right, let's do a six in the booth.

Six style.

I'm gonna play another gambit card.

Oh, wow.

Okay, that's good.

Another five.

Okay, I need like two minutes now.

Two of those.

Okay, I am going to play my six as well, but with

modifier.

A modifier. It's augmented to a seven.

Nice.

Forget the so nobody's attempting to shoot the moon. Okay.

No, one day. All right, Michael. Uh, just a one.

Just a one.

Just a one.

Yeah. All right. I'll make it a four.

I'll make it a four.

Oh, okay.

Combo strike.

There you go. Six.

There you go, Monique. This is your round.

This is my round.

Okay.

Um, I feel like I'm living.

All right. Let's go with a four. So, it's a four in brute strength. I will match your total value of four and then combo strike up to a nine which is

suspiciously one less than 10.

It is one less than 10.

Oh no.

By a difference of one

suited shortsuited.

That was corny.

That was very corny. But I had to make a math joke.

I was very confused for a second there, frankly.

All right.

All right, Naveen. Let's just let's just see everybody's trumps. Come on.

I'm going to taunt y'all.

I'll bet your two and I'll combo strike it. So, it's a six.

Gosh. Uh I'm going to go with a one.

One. Okay. Oh, may trash.

So, that you can trash two cards for your discard. You know what? Nice. So, I

think you made some money here.

I did. I did make some money. That is correct.

There you go.

All right.

Oh, thank you. So, these are the two that Michael trusting. Michael is trashing money. What are you leading us with?

I am going to play my last card. So, I'm leaving the arena.

That's gonna be a 10.

Oh, it's a 10.

So, I take this. So, I score two renown. May I have two renowned, please?

Yeah.

So, I'm at four. Yay.

Hey, Michael. Are you out of cards?

I'm out of cards.

Oh,

terrible.

This is it. This is the last round of

Yeah. Monique.

Wait, I can combo strike that. Wait, but then the math I I would have to beat a 10, right?

You have to beat a 10. Beat

either way. Tying you is no good, right?

Tying me is no good.

I'll just I'll just show you all.

I had it.

Okay. So you like bared your teeth and that was it.

Yes.

All right. So I get the the money for that.

Oh, I should have shot the moon. Should have shot the moon. I had the choice.

This was definitely your round.

Oh my gosh. Here we go. I should have kept track of how many cards. Well, Michael is is trashing a bunch of cards.

He's going to have a really thin deck. I don't think you think you're gonna end up with so far

with a lot of cards.

Me?

Yeah,

possibly. Well, I have I have one of these. Oh, okay. Okay. So, maybe not. But anyh who, that is it. That is the end of the trial. So, um, everybody scored at least five crowns. So, we're just going to tally up our crowns.

What are the What's the point?

It's a 532.

532. So, I have 30.

Yeah. So, you get five.

Okay.

So, you're going to go to nine. You're winning.

Um, I have three. So, or I'm going to get three points. So, I go to 11

and Michael gets two. So, you guys are tied.

Yep.

Okay. But Michael is

helping hand

going to the offer of the shopkeeper.

Yeah, I'm definitely throwing this away.

Okay.

And I'm gonna take my favorite scrying orb from our last play. I enjoy it greatly. Draw three cards and you may discard any of them. So, it I've proposed that it helps me shoot the moon because I can maybe get cards that will help me stay in the round because that's the hardest part about shooting the moon is lasting all the way to the end and losing all of those things. And I'm going to put it on top.

Noard. Yeah,

nice try.

I was hoping to be it. I was about to go out and then you went out, too.

Okay, so timing is what you buy.

So, starting with me.

Oh my gosh. But I only have these options, right?

But some piles are are low. So you can give Naveen the choice to bring down something or you wait till Naveen's out and then you empty it and then you're just playing with yourself.

This is great.

Yeah.

Yes. That one

Trump changes to no trump.

I would agree.

That would be helpful, I think. But then Naveen will get to decide what goes here.

Yeah.

It's okay. But then you're the one buying everything. The money. Yeah.

You've convinced me.

That's all it took. Do Do I let this go on top? Well, I'm going to be I did the helping hand, so I'm choosing thing. And I have a little bit in the bridge strength.

Yeah.

Let's see what what what that does for me. It's a five anyway.

All right.

So, Nine, which one would you like to bring down?

You know, let's just bring down the meteor strike.

Meteor strike.

Yeah.

This is just a raw power. Yeah. Magic.

And then I go I'll buy it.

Ah, I see. I see.

Five.

Yeah. I just buy one of them. Why not?

I think I have to buy one of them, too, because I've been bought one. Yeah,

you know, you got to keep up with the race, but this will go on top of my deck.

Now, with this five, I could buy that the helm of echo, but I don't want to just hang on to that thing. I'm going to buy another one.

Another meteor strike.

Yeah, I'm going to buy two of them.

Oh, interesting.

There's one last. So, I could buy this. You can decide what goes there.

Yes, exactly.

It's interesting because I can do this. Oh, it's a Michael. It's minus three.

Yeah. Helps you shoot the moon even more.

Oh my gosh. Oh, times two.

Times two. That's what Michael wanted. That's what I wanted, but I was too poor. He only had 10 at the time.

This this trick, you lose five five crowns.

That's interesting.

But just stack it with like your eight, but then you get trumped.

But you do it on your first play.

No, you do not do it on your first play.

Why? Because you have nothing to lose.

Oh, I see. Oh, you can also use it to shoot the moon.

That's true.

If you have five from maybe your Eldress's Gambit.

Yes, that's true.

Yes, that that's true. That Yeah.

Okay. Interesting.

I will buy the other meteor strike. Okay. Five. So, I'll just have Oh, do I put this on top of my deck?

You don't have to.

Do I want two of these?

Yeah. Or do you want to spread them out?

Or do I want to spread them out? Because what if Michael Michael gets

Well, it's not really It's not even spreading them out. It's just delaying that because

I have one.

You're going to reshuffle and you might see both of them again at the same time.

I'm going to put it here.

Okay.

Cuz you get a choice.

Yep.

Okay. Now, uh let's do the search bracer. I know Michael wants this. So, Michael, this is for you.

Thank you.

I'm bringing it in.

But you're the one buying it.

I don't know if I'm going to buy it yet.

Oh, really? You have 15.

I do, but it's

But there might be other things.

So much power for now.

May trash two cards from your discard is feeling nice.

Yeah,

it's still like we have five more trials.

You know what I mean?

Mhm.

But if I do that, then I can only do draw one card. M. Oh, that's not bad. How about Okay, let's do both.

Okay,

let's do purging flame for 10. Uh, yeah, let's do at the top of my deck. Yeah,

cuz you have a discard ready. discard now

and then I'll buy the helm of echo.

Draw one card. Huh?

Is that going to hang out on top here?

That's like such a difficult decision right now. Yeah, it makes it easier for me to get initiative next time because I'm going to draw a bunch of augments,

but they're all minus ones. We'll see. We'll see how it plays out.

Yeah.

So, all right. That's the end of this phase. Let's go ahead and move into trial four.

All right. Four. So, now here's where the points start to start separating. So, this is 632. Then they'll be like 743.

So I'm going to draw 11 cards.

So I'm going to draw and then I'm going to set the favorite style.

Favorite style. So right now the favorite style is wisdom.

Wisdom, which you could stay there.

Don't forget you can always do nothing.

Yes. You could also say nay.

All right. For this round, the favorite style is going to stay right where it is.

Oh, really?

Yep.

Okay.

Oh, boy.

And now now it's to you. No, I think it's

Oh, no. We have to do the with the refined.

Would you like to refine focus, Naveen?

No, I will not do it. I won't do it.

Okay.

I'm not going to do it.

I will do it.

That right there.

Okay.

I will not do it. Okay. So, that's that.

Only Michael.

Shall we begin?

Yes. So, you're leading us.

I'm leading.

So, yellow wisdom.

Yes.

Yellow wisdom is favorite style. So, let's just go ahead and start with a nine in magic. So, this lets me trash a card from my discard. Let me go do that.

Nine in magic, huh?

Yeah.

I will.

You're dipping.

Dipping right away.

He's dipping. All right. All right. I'm going to play a three.

Okay.

That's not

All right. So, that's me. Yep. Yeah.

Okay. So, I'll take this and then I lead again.

Mhm. Let's just go with something very simple. This is a two in magic, but I get to draw a card and then discard a card from my hand.

So, draw this and then I'll discard.

Okay.

Seven.

Seven.

And I must draw two cards and must trash one of them.

So, I'm So, you're a seven.

Oh my gosh.

Here's a trash.

Michael is definitely getting those eight points.

Working on it.

Definitely curating the deck. Okay. Well, I am going to meet your second.

So, that's good. So, may trash one card from my discard. So, let me do that real quick.

Are you okay? Are you going to combo strike?

Yes.

Okay.

So, I'm going to discard this card and trash it. Let's go. Bye-bye. And then now I will combo strike it by just adding this one has text on it, but we don't have to concern ourselves. If if the trump was um this, then it would not be it. Okay.

So, my total is uh quite significant here.

It's 12. It's just 12. Navine.

Okay.

Significant, I say.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I did.

So, that goes to you, Naveen.

Yes. All right. You all know I have it. 10.

Let's go with three. So, purging flame. I can trash two cards from my discard. Catching up with you, Michael.

Mhm.

All right. These are the two cards.

Okay. I am going to just play a two bottle service.

Nice.

Two. All right.

Let me take it.

I'll take some money.

There you go. Send me leads.

No money.

All right. I am going to take a chance here.

Oh,

I'm going to augment my 10 and make it an eight. I have two tens here.

Oh, interesting.

So, may trash two cards. I will say yes to such a thing.

Yep.

Is that risky?

Well,

well, you might be shorted at that point.

It's true.

But I'm trashing these. I trashed your cards.

Yep.

All right. I'm going to display a five.

The withering gods. Michael, I hope you have a five.

I do not. I have the

worst thing possible and that is that Trump is now

Oh,

that

Oh, that's hilarious. What the heck? What the heck? Oh, that's awesome.

There you go.

Oh, you had to play that.

I had to play that.

Well, I'm letting you know that. I shouldn't have told you that, but

that's awesome.

Me?

Yeah.

Yeah.

He's so happy over there.

Oh, three. Okay, let's just do it. I'll play a three. I don't a Trump. Why not?

Oh, okay.

Hopefully, you're all short suited. Let's go. Seven.

Ah, you have it.

Mr. Vitality.

I was just hoping that nobody had anything. All right.

Oh, dang it. Oh, no. It's on. That's the whole point.

Fantastic. That's the whole point. That was why it was sad.

All right.

I want to win this one.

Goes to me.

Let's go with the Macob card.

Okay. Huh.

Let's go with seven.

Magic.

And I'm trash. And I will

to trash. Look at that. All right. Five.

Five. Okay. So, it goes to Michael.

Michael's going to get that.

Sweet.

So, it's the score right now is 322. So, this is very close.

Very close.

Yeah.

So, Oh, thank you. So, this is Michael's trash card. And then Michael

gets the lead.

Gets the lead.

But Naveen has probably a ton of stuff over there.

You have a ton of stuff over there.

Ton. He's still smiling, I think. I can feel it.

Let's try a seven.

Seven. Seven. Yellow.

Yep.

Must follow.

Must follow. Oh,

if Trump was this, which it was.

It was.

And is no longer.

And but when you switched it, I was like,

"Okay, so I must play my last card."

Oh, no.

I'm going out. I'm leaving the arena. I don't win this, but I get to maintain this because I already have it.

I don't score two renown. Yep.

So, I must flip it over, though.

Yep.

All right.

So, I get wins a win.

Yeah.

Okay. And then Naveen probably hopefully doesn't need to not follow anymore. I play with a five trumpet.

That's good. That's good for my points.

You inched one out.

Yeah, I did.

Oh, wow. I'm here for the shopkeepers. Okay. All right. Well,

for the shopkeeper, you go.

F 20. 15.

Yes. 10.

So, I'm going to get six. Uh, so I go to 17.

Wow.

Big. Who's next?

Three for me, please.

Michael three. So, one, two, three, and then two, one, two. You guys are hanging out.

But I get I get to be offered the shopkeeper assistance. Would I like at this point?

You get another gambit.

I know. I'm thinking about it.

Yeah, I like it. And you get to put it on top.

I do, but that'll nullify me from shooting the moon.

Are you trying to shoot the moon?

I, you know, I never do.

I think anytime option to just like win zero tricks, h it just makes my hands sweaty. Yeah. You get scared.

Yeah.

You know what I mean?

It's really You have to like you have to try to do it.

And you have multiple of these cards.

I do.

So like having these cards is difficult to unless you trash them out. But then you spent time not acquiring those cards.

Yeah. So it's like I should have made that decision earlier. I was going to be that kind of player.

You have two of those, right?

I do. So I'm going to get a third.

Okay.

So I'm accepting the shopkeeper's help. Thank you. Go at the top of my deck.

All right. And then do I begin shopping because I am next to the initiative.

Yes.

Okay. Surge bracer.

Thank you, Monique.

You're welcome, Michael.

You know, love to see it.

I'm going to take one of these.

Oh, the last one.

What is it?

It is the uh the purging flame. The one that allows you to trash may trash two cards for my discard. So, I got to I got to lean out my deck.

This has to get drawn back up, though, to me because

it is nice that it says May.

How much was that?

Uh, it was 10. Sorry. Yeah. And on my turn, I pass.

You now get the Oh, I get to bring it down. Even even though I choose that and then I pass.

Yes.

Okay. So,

you know, I have 10.

Well, scrying orb all day.

Michael's other pick.

Three. Scrying orb for you.

Look at this.

I mean, that is kind of nice.

We've made a shop a mess,

dude. Do I do the eye of the seer, though?

Do it.

Cards.

Must trash. One of them.

Must trash.

Don't be afraid of the must.

That's exciting. Embrace the must.

You should do the eye of the year.

I'm I'm winning the game right now, though. So, like,

wow.

I hurt myself potentially.

There's plenty of points to be had.

Yeah, but I'm currently

If you assume I'm winning the eight points, I'm beating you.

That's true. Michael is winning the game right now.

That's true.

But with the eye of the seer,

take more. All right, I'll have fun with it. Let's do it.

Nice.

Eye of the sear.

I love it.

Like to see it. So, draw two cards. Must trash one of them.

Yeah.

If I draw both my tens, off it goes. off one.

That's okay. That's not That's not terrible.

Yeah. All right.

Yeah.

Well, that is it for trial four. So, we're moving into the fifth and final trial that allows us to purchase from the adventure.

Yeah. You don't purchase uh in round six, seven or eight.

Yes, that is a showcase. That's where we show off everything that we have accumulated the deck that we are proud of hopefully.

So, until then, we do get one more purchasing round. So,

so I think I will have to shuffle. Yeah.

Okay. Same. One, two, three, four, five. I'm going to shuffle these. All right. Since I received the assistance, I am going to determine that the favorite style is wisdom.

Yellow.

So, wisdom going into trial five. Now, I have the I have the initiative marker.

Yep.

So, Naveen. Yep.

Would you like to refine focus?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yes, I will.

Okay. Michael,

no.

No.

Strong. No.

What? Interpret that. Interpret that however you wish.

A lot of augment perhaps.

Depends. Do I do it? No, I'm not. I will not do it.

Okay, it's fine.

I will stay as

lead Mon'nique.

I am

chooser of favorites

of things.

Yeah,

chooser of favorites.

Whatever the trumpet,

I'm going to start with the with the gambit.

Just says I don't want this.

Yeah, I don't want this.

I want this burden.

Please show them. Huh? I am gonna start really aggressive at myself with a five, but a draw two and must trash one of them. I love it.

Let's see it.

Here we go.

We don't get to see what I get to see it,

but like let's see it in action.

There you go.

Good or bad, Michael. Good or bad?

Always good. You made a very snap decision decision there. So, okay. So, uh Okay, I will do a five and augment it. Make it a six. May trash one card. My one card in my discard. There we go. We discard. Okay. So, it's been trashed.

Been trashed.

All right. So, you win this one.

There you go. Nine.

Money.

What shall you lead with?

Um. Oh, yeah. About that. Oh, Michael, you're going to bring these back.

That's my discard. Remember that.

That is your discard. Yeah. All right. You know I have one. 10. Come on. Everybody has purple.

Um,

everybody has purple,

please.

How many of those do you have in your hand? I mean,

see this? I can't I can't tell you. Are you going to dip out?

I'm gonna play these two. So, it's a four, but I get to draw one card and then I must discard a card from my hand.

It's good.

I follow suit.

This card

with Monique.

Okay. You do similar. Okay.

Yes. I play a five. I must draw a card and then must discard a card from my hand.

Can I have a

Okay.

So, my 10 is is

Yeah, your 10. So, you lead again.

I will lead again. Yeah.

You discarded.

I have. All right. I will uh I will There I got one of these. I'll punt it down to somebody else. May I have five, please?

Uh, that feels good. That feels good.

I have to do something special.

Let's go with Let's go with a 10.

10 of Trump.

Trump. Oh,

that's right.

You chose this.

I did.

Five.

Okay.

Okay. Your spook.

Am I spook? It is a spooky art.

Yeah.

All right. Zen goes back to me. Um, I will Let's just play seven. Seven blue.

Yeah.

All right. I'm going to play off suit, but not trump for now. It might it might turn to trump.

Interesting.

Interesting. Okay. So, it's me.

Yeah.

So, it's seven.

Yep. Seven magic.

And if you want to combo strike, you match a five.

Match of five.

Yeah. So, even though this is not following suit, Naveen could still combo strike with the

magic.

With the magic suit.

I will augment my card though and I will do So, what's the total? Seven.

Mhm.

Yeah.

Okay. I'll play it and make it a nine.

Wow.

There you go.

Okay.

Okay.

So, there you go.

And now leads.

Yes. I'm going to lead and I will lead. I'll just make this a seven.

Okay. Let's go with a four in wisdom.

Michael is currently shooting the moon, by the way.

Michael is definitely attempting to shoot the moon.

Oh, no.

By the way, I just noticed that on this one. How do I pump this to him? Uhoh.

So, I win this one, right?

Yes.

Okay. So, let's go take these back.

That's not good. I don't like I don't like that about me.

I kind of want Michael to shoot the moon.

Well, who won that one? Me.

In the case of the score. Yes.

Did I win that one? You did. Okay. She dropped.

I I played this.

Yeah.

But I do want Michael to shoot moon. I think it would be exciting. Good luck, Michael. Thank you.

All right. I'm going to lose this trick.

Oh, that's that's not nice. That is not nice.

That's why I said good luck.

That's No,

I wished you luck.

That's the opposite. That's the opposite. Oh, no. Monique, what are you doing? Okay, hold on. Naveen has to follow.

Yes.

Okay, but if I do this, it is. How many cards do you have, Naven? Can I Can I know that? I'd like to know how many cards.

Oh, Mon'nique, what have you done?

What have you done?

It would have been a feat.

Oh, so basic on your side.

Basically, if Naveen does not have the suit that I am forced to play at this point,

then I am in trouble. But

unless it's wisdom,

I think I have a backup plan. We're going to start with a one

of brute strength and I draw three cards and I may discard any of them.

Okay.

Okay. No problem.

Yep.

I'm shorted.

But but you trumped it.

You did.

I did trump it. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. So, Michael

So, can I I win it, but Michael still preserves his uh situation. I will discard this card and that is it. I have all discard.

Oh, my bad. You should probably discard it before.

You should probably wait until Michael. Like I guess it didn't matter this time because you're Oh, no. You're not out of cards.

Yeah, you should have waited a time.

Anyway.

All right. So,

it didn't matter what Michael played because I had two trumps in a row.

No.

And I'm out of cards, by the way. So, I'm going to get the uh the token.

You get it now.

Get your two points.

Flip it over to the two. Two points. Two points. Now, you're 19.

It was time.

All right. Um, let's go six.

Okay. All right. I am forced to do this and I do not like it one bit, but I am playing zero.

What?

And now the trump is now

brute strength and I believe I win it with zero better.

Yes. And so I will first

may trash two cards with my discard, but I am also out. So the round is now over.

Oh, you're out.

Yeah, Michael wins it. I win that.

Don't shoot the moon.

It is absolute disaster.

Sad. I have to discard that.

That was sad. Sorry, Michael.

No problem.

So, this is the first This is the first time that we had a opportunity to see what a shoot the moon is. So, had Michael lost this trick, uh he would have no money going into uh basically the assessment of the score. So, if that's the case and you were involved in the final,

which which I was. I didn't want to be, but I was.

Yeah. Then that's considered like shooting the moon in this. And basically, uh, that puts you to leaprog to the very front of scoring.

Yes. You steal the first position.

Yeah. So, instead of Michael getting three, he would actually get seven. Me, who would earn seven, would get pushed down to the four, and then Mon'nique would then get pushed down to Michael's position, which would have been three. Yes.

So, it kind of just all like shifts like that. Just slides down. And then I think I believe Michael also gets the same equipment.

Any player that has zero, even if he did not steal first, just any player with zero crowns gets to match to the player who has the most.

Yeah.

So, it's really nice.

Yeah.

Sorry, Michael.

So close to So close to really nice. I definitely If I thought a little bit harder, I could have played the last couple of rounds to guarantee this situation.

It's tough. It's hard to do.

It's a little tough.

So, for this round, uh, who has the most crowns, Naveen?

Uh, yeah. I have seven.

Seven. Oh,

seven points.

Seven points. So, you go to 26.

Mhm.

And then I think I get second.

Yes.

So, what is that?

Four.

Four.

And then third is three.

And then you guys are tied.

Well, look at us. We're just leap frogging each other. Michael, he is a true

He's a villain.

This was This was a key time to bring Naveen down just a little bit. I just

Six point.

I fumbled.

Would you like the shopkeeper's assistance?

I definitely would go away. Five. And I think in this case, I just want to kind of be a little similar to you guys.

Okay.

And I will put that right there.

All right. For the final time, Naveen, starting with you,

what would you like to buy? So, you have how much? 25.

I have 25.

20. Five away.

All right. I'm gonna I'm gonna have to buy one of these.

The surge bracer.

Yes.

Wow.

So, yeah, it's a 2x and it's going to go on top of my deck. So, all right. I'll just do it.

So, you'll get it.

It's my right.

Okay.

Oh my gosh. Okay. I think I have to do the same thing.

Okay.

Because now we'll all have one.

Okay.

So, here's Plus the other ones. I don't know if I want to to use them, frankly. So, here's 15. It's 15, right?

Mhm.

Okay. So, this goes at the top of my discard, though. All right. Nine, you have 10 left.

You know, I have 10 left. I'm not going to make a purchase.

Oh, okay.

Yeah. I don't think I'm I don't think I'm going to buy it.

So, you pass.

Yeah, I'm gonna pass. Okay,

I'm gonna let it go.

Do I go with the helm of echo? I feel like I have those and they're not helpful right now. I would agree.

So, I'm I too will pass.

Yeah.

I just didn't want to pat it with something that I was like not in love with.

Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense.

Because of this.

Yeah.

If this wasn't There's other ones in the game, but because we're playing with this particular end game, I don't want to just have an extra card.

The shopkeeper challenge.

Yeah.

All right. Well, that is the end of trial five. We're now moving into the showcase. Yeah.

So, trials six through eight is where we're going to show everyone what we've got.

So, let's see. Let's see you put those decks into action.

Yes. because we're not going to be purchasing anymore. There will still be a shopkeeper's um like assistance, but that person just doesn't get to acquire additional item. So,

basically, it allows that person to choose the trump card.

Y So, who is that? Is it you, Michael?

I will get to choose it once I reading.

All right. I think I'm going to just leave it right where it is.

Oh, strength.

Yep.

Nice. All right. So, starting with

me,

right?

Yeah. Yes.

Starting with Michael. Do I want to refine my focus? And I think I will do so.

Oh, you're doing it.

Yep.

Do I do it? I'll do it, too.

All right.

All right.

I'll do it.

Okay.

Let's just do it.

All right.

There you go.

Please. Me

take it away.

Okay. All right. Let's just start off with something. Uh, I have that surge bracer.

Okay.

Do five times two to make it a 10. If I lose this trick, I lose five, but I don't have anything to lose.

Okay. H I will play I'll just gambit.

So I take five me. Nice.

Nice.

Sweet. So everybody get some money.

No one's shooting the moon.

Can I have a five, please?

You played a very strong

I'll take it though.

I got rid of two cards while you guys got rid of one card. So I can retain this.

Okay.

All right. Let's just play an eight.

Eight.

Meteor Strike. I feel like these are in play. Like we have not seen one of these in a while. There it is. Okay. Today is the day.

Strike. So I have 11.

Okay. I will follow up with a two

with a two.

With a two.

All right. So, I win this one.

Does this have verbiage? Do you want that?

You may trash two cards. I am going to do so. Both of them.

Oh, okay. Michael has like his entire deck. Can I just show?

Yeah.

Oh, these are the trashed cards. Michael's trashed cards.

These are mine in play cards.

Those are the best. the cream of the crop right there in his head.

Supposedly the cream of the crop.

All right.

Okay. So, this is out. Yeah. So, who won that money?

I did. So, now let's go seven

in the Trump suit. Trump suit. Seven strength.

Okay.

Trump. Okay.

We'll go with 12

plus draw two must trash one.

Must get one of your quality cards.

Yeah.

All right. That was a really

I'll do a two with the modifier minus two. So zero, but may trash two cards. I'm going to do it.

You're going to do it. All right. That one.

Okay, Michael.

Yeah,

it is you.

It is me.

Okay, I'm going to trash these two.

Okay.

Okay.

All right. There we go.

All right. We're just going to go with a classic first round seven.

Everybody knows that one.

You can do it, Naveen. I have faith.

First round seven. I I'll do a I'll do a three. Oh,

I'll go with a simple zero so I can trash two cards from my discard. Do that now, too.

I like that move.

Take the win.

Deciding what to trash is kind of hard.

Yeah.

Yeah,

I will admit. All right, I'm trashing these two.

Yep.

And who is going?

I will be leading the next one.

All right, Michael.

Uh, Mailtorm.

Okay.

Male strong.

Malem. Yep.

All right. I'm playing a four. Monnique, if you wanted to combo off a four,

I will

four.

Oh, the trump.

The trump. No need.

Why?

You don't need to combo.

But if I want less cards in my hand.

Yes. Yes, that is in that. Yes.

All right. So that's it.

That's

it goes to me. I leave this. So this is the last card in my hand.

Okay.

So I'm playing it. So if Trump was that, it now changes to no trump.

Okay. Okay.

So I do get the initiative token.

You do. That's two points for you.

Thank you. That is two points. Thank you. So that's me, right?

Yeah, that's good.

All right.

Well, Trump is now back to it.

Nice.

Okay. So then I'll play a five.

A five. Combo.

I'm not going to combo, unfortunately.

So I get a

Yeah, he can't combo off the five cuz you're right. It had to be It had to be my

card. Are we playing another round?

We are playing another round.

And the reason why again is because we're both tied, but I played my card earlier.

Mhm.

All right. So I'm up.

Oh my god. So it is

I get the lead.

You get the lead.

Okay. Three.

It's the last.

I'm off suit. Off suit.

Okay.

Oh, that was a wrap.

Set it back to Trump. And

I should have freaking tried to go for the You know, I had the the if I lose a trick.

Yeah.

I had the thing if I lose a trick, lose five.

That's I spent it.

That was part of how I could have made last round work. It's so hard to to balance.

The first thing that you played

the first thing I played. Yeah. But I had fairly decent cards. You thought you were going to the working of it didn't work out. Yeah.

Oh, that would have been awesome.

That would have been a shoot the moon. Yeah.

All right. Well, the renown we are going for is 1074. Yep.

Looks like we have a tie.

We do. Right. We have two tie.

Best case scenario for us to give us a chance to get back.

That's true. Because in the case of a tie, the tied players get the same amount of points. We're both going to share the first place points, which is 10.

So, here we go, Michael.

Here we go.

Let's go. 27.

Okay. Now we do however skip the next place. So Naveen will get four points.

Okay,

the game just got close all of a sudden.

Three, four. Woohoo.

Needed to get seven there. Dang it.

All right. Now, uh Naveen still helpeper. He doesn't get any items,

but he'll get the choice.

He will get the choice of the favorite style. So, it's kind of like

Yeah. So, 100% you take it.

So, I'm gonna take a look at my cards.

Okay. Okay. So, we are going to discard all of our money cuz money is now no longer necessary in the show

just for rank and renown.

Yeah. So, let's go ahead and draw our hand.

So, I'm going to leave the shuffle.

I have to shuffle as well.

Okay. We are going to keep it here.

Okay.

Oh, okay.

On the purpose.

And we are now going to trial seven.

It's going to be 12, eight, and five. This is where the points really

penultimate round.

So, these points, they just get like really really much higher than the first. The first 12 was what? 3 2 1 and now we're doing 18.

Yeah.

Yeah. A gap of

Yeah. No, it's 12. But a gap of four where you're sitting.

Okay. But still 12 to three. That's a big big difference.

So I have the initiative token which means Nine gets to decide. Would you like to refine focus?

Uh oh. Refine focus. Yes. Um okay, I'll do it.

Yeah.

Yep.

Okay. Michael,

I do not.

No.

Nope.

I will do it. So there's my discard. All right. So starting with me,

I am I'm gonna try to go as strong as possible.

11 11 wisdom. I can trash a card to my discard. So it must be this. Oh. All right.

All right. I'm going to match Monique kind of.

What?

But in a really weird way. I'm going to augment my 10

down to a seven.

Oh, okay.

Oh, okay. which might give you a hint of my initial goal for this round.

I'm trying.

I love that for you.

Okay,

well, I'll just uh Okay, then I need to discard some of these cards.

Um I'm going to discard two of them.

Okay.

Okay, I will do uh six with an augmented plus two. This is the eye of the seer. Let's just uh draw two. Trash one of them.

Oh, is this your first time doing it?

First time doing it. Let's just

Oh, boy.

See what I got. Okay, I'll trash this one.

Not bad.

Not bad. So then this one I stay say that.

All right, so this is me then, right?

Uh, yes.

That's 11. So I'll take that.

All right,

let's

got to get Michael five bucks.

It's important.

Let's go nine in magic.

Okay, let's go. Eight in magic. Draw two. Must trash one.

Okay,

equals eight.

Come on. Trash. bad.

No, it's just boring.

Oh, okay.

I don't like boring.

All right, I'll uh let's see what I got here. How many do I have here? Okay, I'll just I'll just make this a uh What is it? What's your total, Mike, Mike?

Nine.

Nine.

But if you want to combo off me, you can match eight and then balance up on top.

I'll just do this for nine.

That's okay.

Okay.

So, I'm not winning that one.

Okay.

You Okay. You want to play your augment card if you're not winning it? Okay.

Uh if you want to just get through your deck.

Yeah.

Yeah.

All right. So I will play five. So six minus one. I draw a card and then I must discard one card from my hand. Okay. I'll discard this one.

So you're playing a five.

Yeah. Five in magic.

This is interesting.

Okay. I will do the same.

You're playing a five?

No. 6 minus one.

Off.

The exact same. Oh. Oh. Oh, I see.

And I do not combo on it, but I do draw a card. And then I must discard a card. this card.

All right, here we go. Let's do this.

This is This is I I'll win this with the trump.

Okay.

Okay. So,

you don't have

I don't have blue.

Okay,

that's what I'm saying there. Yep. So, I'll take the trump.

All right. There you go.

Okay. So, now I lead.

Yep.

All right. If Man. Okay. We don't want him shooting the moon.

Well, you

you don't want me shooting the moon.

You don't want him doing either. I'm punting this off to Mo'Nique to Den. Punt to Michael. Punt to Michael. You want me to do the same?

Yes.

This is perfect. Yeah,

you should do the same.

If you Yeah, if you have it, do it. He wins.

But draw two and must try.

Okay. Oh, okay.

So, Michael wins.

I feel bad. Should I have let

No, this is a good

Michael should have shot the moon

because then it because then you're just going to take it.

Well, Michael's getting eight.

Michael's getting

Michael's getting eight. We have to be aware of that.

That's true. That's true. That's true.

And then he would he would snake your 12.

That's true.

You're getting the 12.

Cover your ears, Michael. He speaks mean things.

It had to be done. It had to be done.

Michael leads there.

Zero.

Zero in the Trump suit. You can give me another 10. I would love to tie you. Actually,

you may trash two cards.

I will.

I'll give you another 10. Yeah.

Well, I'll look and then I will.

Okay.

All right. I will play uh a 10 modified down two may trash two.

So eight.

Yep.

Okay.

Oh, wow. That's big. This is the Oh, okay. I'll just play the three. So it goes cinnam.

Okay. So I won.

Yeah.

You want that one?

There's my trash, too.

Hoping I Michael, what's up?

You trashed your entire deck.

That's crazy.

Really something.

Look at all that.

You've been adding some of your trashes to this one.

Oh, I have.

Yeah. So, okay. So, it's not purely me, but it's unrelated to

I've just been adding my

There's yours, your initial ones, but but I saw you put a couple in there.

I'm going to play the 10 truck.

That was on accident.

Just kept that going.

Okay, we let this happen.

Are either of you out at this point?

No.

Well, at least this will happen.

Uh,

if you lose this trick, you lose $5.

Oh, Michael.

Michael. Yes,

he's going to do it.

But I'm out.

Oh, but he's out. So, he didn't survive the last trick.

I did not survive the last trick.

Oh, wow. So, he had the the no money, but because there's going to be a trick played after this, uh, Michael will not be shooting the moon. That was that was Michael.

Okay. So, I win this.

You do.

10 for me.

Or five for me.

Oh, yeah.

Did you get No, I'm not the villain.

Okay.

I'm just trying to work. All right. I'll go six.

All right. Well, you get that one.

Oh, nice.

I'm out.

So, there's yours. Look at all your money.

It's trashed. Okay.

Okay.

Perfect. So it's Oh yeah. Unfortunately, Michael did did not say to the last trick you have to outlast everybody basically.

It's part of that last trick. Yeah.

Yeah. Then it would have been

I just needed one more card. But I had too many I had too many strength. You know what I mean? Saying that strength. But also it's bad. But if I were in the shopkeeping first five rounds, I would actually gain five.

Yeah.

To be able to buy to be able to shop. So it would have been the worst. I just would have got fewer points but still shop as best as the first player.

Right. Right. That's true. So, it looks like Naveen is gonna get the 18.

The 12,

but it's okay.

I keep see I keep seeing 18 from where I'm sitting. So, 12 is your 42.

Okay, there.

That was needed.

I get eight.

Okay. So, what is that? Uh 35.

Mhm.

And then Michael, you get five. So, one, two, three, four, five. All right.

Okay. And if I imagine I had my eight, then I wouldn't be too far behind Naveen.

Yeah. I mean, yeah, you're really close.

But I do really hope that Mon'nique gets the four points.

Not

I think I'm just going to be not in the running, honestly.

Come on, start trashing.

Yeah,

but then there's this last round where it's 10, 15, and

you definitely want to

focus on winning the renown. That's the first goal and then everything after that.

That's true.

We'll see.

So, Michael, y

you get the shopkeeper assistance. I do.

You get to decide on to the final the final fight.

All right. So, no shuffling for me

for everything, guys.

Okay. I think I've learned my lesson. And the biggest enemy of Mike is any Trump. So, we're going with

I like it.

No Trump.

Final round. No Trump until someone

makes one

makes it Trump

via that one card.

Via that one card that I had and I hate that I bought it.

Amazing. I don't want. Okay. And now I have to start off.

Well,

uh

Oh, no. No. No. First we have to refine. Yes.

Would we like to refine focus? Yes, I will.

I'm going to discard that one.

All right. I'll do it.

Okay. I in hopes to shoot the moon. I need to keep as many cards as possible.

That's the hardest part is staying in.

So, I will just say it to the world.

Okay.

He's going for the moon.

Going for it. Moon shooting. Moon. Hey, you guys still got coins from last round. What's going on here? We're we're trying to cheat. I mean,

keeper would have uh would have supported us. He is quite shady.

So,

all right. I have to lead and so I will start aggressive eight.

Okay.

Just give me just give me five points. Draw two.

Draw two. Trash one of them.

Draw two trash. Huh?

Must trash one of them.

Here are my two. I have to trash one of them now.

Yes.

I guess it's that.

Okay. Uh,

you're going for shoot the moon.

Well, you can stop me. Maybe I have a way to get rid of a

a coin or two.

I'll do five minus two.

Okay. Three.

May. Yeah. So, may trash two cards.

Okay.

And it really doesn't matter cuz uh

you don't think you're going to draw that?

Yeah. I'm not going to be able to draw. So,

interesting. So, you're a total of eight?

Yes. And you can combo strike off of three.

I could, but then I would have to beat eight. This problem is that let's do my surge bracer.

Oh,

so five times two is 10.

Do you want to win it?

I want to win it.

Yeah.

Yeah, I definitely want to win it.

Okay. Okay. Very good.

All right. So, there's that. Um I'm not going to be I support your endeavor in shooting the moon,

but you're about to you're about to don't come. But if you can do it,

why lead with a G?

Would be amazing. But I'm going to lose this trick. So I'll just gam. But it I mean it's not for sure like you just have to think about

I I think I'll be fine.

Yeah. What you can win over Naveen.

Um

Naveen would win over you.

I'm going to I'm going to start with a zero of nice

brute strength.

Zero.

Would you like to trash two cards from your discard?

Uh can I look at it and then decide?

I would say so.

I think so. Look at it.

It's like you may, right? Like,

and I will say yes. Goodbye.

Oh,

all right.

Keeping it real lean.

I'm going to try to get to zero. New goal.

Yeah. Yeah. No cards.

Cards wins. Okay.

All right. Since it's zero purple to me.

I'm hoping you have purple and don't have modifiers that will make it go down there.

A five.

All right. Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna Yeah. Leave it at five. There you go. Okay. There you go. So, now you lead.

Yeah. Uh, okay. Let's just do this. 10.

10.

Yeah.

I will lose the trick

in game five.

I will lose the trick and draw two. Trash one.

Okay.

Buddy, can I have

There you go. All right.

Trash one. Oh,

this is interesting.

What?

Sometimes I want both of them. Sometimes I want both of them.

Me?

Yes.

Okay. I'm just going to do this now. Eight times two.

Wow.

When I use this trick, I lose five. And you're thinking you're not going to I no trump. You're welcome.

No trump. Yeah, exactly.

I'm going to six may trash two cards for my discard. I will do.

Okay.

So,

but then you win. That's interesting.

A six plus one.

Oh, there you go.

And I may trash one card from my discard. You know I will.

Oh man, you know it.

Michael,

can I have what I want, please?

Okay, there you go.

Thank you.

And then lead again.

Back for me. Huh? Yeah,

I'll just do uh this

six.

Six

may trash a card from my discard. I will say yes to that.

Okay.

All right. Bribe. Very simple. Michael.

Um I will maelstrom.

Oh,

offuit. Not a trump. Not

Trump.

Yeah.

So it's it's Naveen.

Yep.

Okay. Naveen again.

All right. Me again. Huh? So I'll go uh six.

Okay.

Six.

Awful. A sixer.

I'm gonna go I'm going off suit. So it's a four. Delmentoto.

No. Trump, huh?

Five.

Okay.

Okay.

Okay. Nice. Yeah.

Just for just Oh, to get cards out of your hand.

Oh, Michael.

How many cards you got there?

I got two.

You got two. All right. Well, here we go. Last card.

That's your last card.

That's my last card. So, I'm going to take this.

Okay. Two points.

You get two points.

I'll take two points off.

All right. I don't have that. So, I'm just gonna play a run and gun.

I don't have that as well.

Oh,

I'll play 12.

I did it. But Naveen just got a plus two and that is plus two. Oh, yeah.

That might be the win right there. We'll see.

Okay. This is like the worst for me. Yes. Worst possible. Shut down. Yeah.

So, that's it because um Oh, actually, are you out of cards?

I'm out of cards.

So, Michael shot the moon.

Oh,

the the round is ended.

Yeah, the round is over. Yeah, cuz he was involved in the

he was involved in the last trick because I still had a card left. But if you are the only player with cards, combat cards specifically, then

yeah,

you're out. Or I'll just scam it.

Yep.

So that is it. Michael did it. How many trials did you attempt this?

Four.

Three or four. Yeah,

you did it. Good job. You get the star.

Truly, what this means, Michael ended the trial with zero and he lasted all the way to the end. So he steals first. Yes. Yes.

And instead of Naveen getting first, he'll get second and I will get third.

So what is first?

Get 15.

15. So what is that?

47.

47.

Okay.

You bring that.

Naven's going to get two. I need Naveen to get

10. 44 to 104.

Yeah.

Or 54.

54. Yeah. And I get seven.

A seven.

Mhm.

Okay. So I go to 42.

All right. That is it because that was the eighth trial. Now, the game is not yet over because we do have one last thing to score and it is the shopkeepers challenge which in our game

Yeah. have the fewest cards in your deck. Now, we know Michael is going to get this.

It's second place looking like Nav.

Oh, no.

I guess you guys want a number for me just for

posterity.

20.

What'd you get?

22.

Oh, nice.

Nice job.

Thank you. Yeah. So,

I didn't I didn't uh trash enough. I'm We know Michael's getting eight, right? So, what's your total number though?

Uh,

look in your in your

Oh, sorry.

11. I reduced my deck from 22 to 11.

Your starting hand didn't have a starting hand.

I get four. One, two.

There it was.

Oh, nice.

That is it.

So, uh, my

final scores are

uh me with 58, Michael with 55, and Monnique with 42.

Ah,

there you go.

H the start, it was written in the stars from the start. The first two rounds you felt kind of like off by that.

I think the first couple the first two rounds I think the first trial was like it's okay. Second trial

and then you didn't bounce. You didn't bounce.

It didn't it didn't work out. My hand was just

I don't know.

You were in play though. Like you you you weren't like you could have got an extra three. I don't know. Yeah.

When we were going into the final round, I needed Mon'nique to king make me I think to to either win on the the discard or to take second.

I tried. tried to trash as many cards as I could. I just don't think I

That means it just everybody was trashing at the end.

Yeah. I I I You need like with this card in play, it's like you need to just acquire some [snorts] sort of cards that says just trash.

Yes.

And then like especially in round seven and eight when you're like I'm not going to get this back into my hand. So it doesn't matter what I trash.

I didn't acquire enough of those cards. That was my problem because at least got this year. I didn't do that.

I think I only did it once though.

Do you guys want to see my

your lean

lean 11 decks? Okay. So, it's like mostly augments.

Oh,

so it was really hard to last until the end because I basically had to draw the proper things with these augments. I also threw a ton away at the end, which was part of my deck. But like this is what I would look like every time I drew my hand was just

half augments, half this, and to somehow figure out how to

to last. And and I only did it one time.

Yeah. Amazing.

Yes. It was It was fun. Very fun.

Yeah. lots of uh I mean the we randomized these cards and so a lot of them ended up being like draw a card, draw three cards, trash, you know, they're not always going to be like that.

Yeah, there might be a lot more um favorite styles of combat cards. Just a lot of different combat cards to pick from and so we're just doing more brute strength of numbers battling each other.

Now, we saw a lot of the different types of cards. So, like as an example, the crown of screams. Yeah,

there's going to be cards like that in the other two suits. Same thing with like the triumphant banner. You also see those in the other two suits as well. Yep.

But some other examples of cards that we didn't showcase are stuff like the tome of combat which is a six and there's one of each type of suit and this allows you to discard up to two cards from your hand. So that's maybe something that Michael would have liked.

No, that well for getting in

that's how you get this get two points every round is huge.

This is one that we've played with in the past is shifting shield. I actually like this one a lot. This is one that you can choose the value. So it can be a value between one and five and there's one in each.

That's helpful when you want to like do the combat.

Yeah. You just you just match the number. Really easy to find it.

The ancestral relic. These relics actually let you draw two cards from your deck and two from your discard and then return to the top of each pile in any order. Some more things that can kind of like get you the cards that you're looking for. And then this one's really interesting. It's these are these three are runes. And basically when you augment a combat card with it, it changes the suit.

So like the rune of might, it says the card you played is now of the brute strength suit.

Yeah.

And it is a minus one modifier, but this can get you to like the favored style if you really want to win or vice versa.

Yeah.

Well, there you have it. That is the adventure store. Now, this game is currently on Kickstarter.
