Hi everyone, Danielle here. I'm doing an unboxing of Doom Cat. This is published by Charming Games Collective and they sent me a review copy to cover on my channel. So this is a game for one to six players, takes about 30 minutes to play, ages eight and up. Let's see what's inside. This is the complete box set. So um just to keep in mind that's what's in here. And then let's open this up. It's got a little lip to it, so let's pull it out. And here we have uh three boxes. We have one, two, three apprentice apprentice uh adept and archmage. Let's take a look at all of these.
Right. It also comes with a solo campaign log. A Doom Cat campaign log, so depending if you're playing solo or not will determine which side you use on this Then we have another um card here. This says this is a wolf uh familiar. And let's see. Um so this is a roll and write game and I guess we'll just start with number one. So let's open number one first. Uh looks like there is some tape on it, so let me carefully take off this tape and I'll be right back. All right, so I got all the tape off. Let's dive into what's in here.
Okay. So in this box, nice. We have two dry erase markers. Um one is purple and one is black. And then we also have some dry erase cards. Let's open these up.
All right. So looks like they have letters on the top right of them. So this was a set of D and then we have A which all looks the same. Yep, so these are all A. All right. And then let's see the other side. Okay, we have some uh cool looking art here. We have a hair a rat, a moth mind symphony, division unsubstantial intersection variety burnout clarity and isolation.
And it looks like all of these kind of have some uh scoring costs to them. Um at least I guess just for the two familiars in my hand and similar to that wolf familiar I had taken out from the main box. Um So there's three of them here in this box and then we have the rest of these which have scoring Yeah, it looks like all of these are scoring uh rules, so Cool. Very excited to learn how to play. And here we have a booklet. Oh, it's not a booklet. Actually it's a folds out into a paper here.
And these are the rules. Okay. Let's see what the other boxes have. We'll look at those um as well. Oh, and of course can't be a roll and write without dice, right? So we got three dice in the first box. Uh one purple, one green, one blue. Um and the idea in this game is you'd be rolling all three dice and using all three dice um and assigning it to some of these cards, so yeah, that's kind of the gist of it.
And then here does say uh roll dice, draw sigils, find demons. Master level one chaos magic with Doom Cat apprentice. Um you can mix and match goal cards, craft unique spell circles and list replayability. Every turn is a little puzzle. Um and it does say add one to two players per Doom Cat box, which means with the three boxes you could play a with up to six players. Pretty neat. Okay. So I forgot to put that back in the that box, but that's okay. All right, so let's open box number two, adept.
Yep, and again we have three dice. Okay. And then let's take a look at these cards. Um I wonder if the rulebooks are the same. They do look the same at first glance. I'm sure they are. Um but the cards probably change the game up a little bit. All right, so you know, I'm not sure we need to see the backs of these, but that's what they look like. Going to turn it around and just look at some of these. All right, we have cosmic anxiety meanwhile order centrality spineless intention focus, scattered gutless owl bat and fox.
All right. And then we have these two markers as well. Okay. And then we'll open up that last box. We have up two thoughts nocturnal toxic hustle, endless hunger acute pain melancholic exhaustion perfectionism nihilism toad and raven. So those are obviously familiars.
Um but yeah. It'll be interesting to see um how different the game ends up being with each of these different cards. And then just peeking into the box, we have the markers and the dice. Very good.
