Quotes (from this video)
  • Ants. And I loved this game. Um it is a phenomenal worker placement game where we are controlling a colony of ants trying to, you know, spread out into the uh the countryside, um you know, set up pheromone trails of scavenging ants, exploring, dealing with big scary bigger bugs than us, like centipedes and millipedes and whatnot, getting to the far reaches where there are huge benefits if we're the first player to occupy, and, you know, basically expand our little ant kingdom.
  • And unlike most other ant colony civilization games, there is no player versus player in this game. No direct attacking. We just have to fight, you know, the the other big bugs that are out there.
  • this is a conveyor belt game, folks, and I love conveyor belts. The conveyor belt here is the life cycle of our ants.
  • Everything about this game is fantastic.
  • It's the second best game we played this month. It's Ants.
  • The Last Droids.
  • This game is phenomenal.
  • It's an I split, I choose game, which is a fun little thing.
  • That decision, which do I keep for myself, which two do I give to the other players, is phenomenal.
  • The rules actually suggest that once the cards are revealed before the lead player hands them out and keeps one for themselves that players could say, "Hey, I really want that one."
  • The art in this game is stunning.
  • It is the best game I played this month as a three-player game.
  • As a two-player game, I don't know. So, I'm going to have to do a follow-up in a future roundup, I assume.

Quotes (from this video)
  • But you're basically gathering movies. That's what you're doing. You're kind of a you're taking a turn to either buy better seats for your theater or buying movies to play in your theaters.
  • The first game on its own would have been like a 2.5, maybe a three. Without the cards that make the game interesting, it's a forgettable yatsi-ish game where you get one reroll, not two. It's an okay game. Nothing bad about it, just like it's been done before. The cards made it interesting. and the Cars made it fun.
  • It's straightforward. It's straightforward. It's fine. I don't think again definitely didn't wow me. Like the more I talk about it, the more I'm like, I will never buy this game. Nothing against it. I just I think it's a fun enough game to play on boardame arena. I don't think it does anything particularly special to make it a game that I feel the need to own in my collection.
  • Overall, you're going around a rondell. You're kind of working around this map. It's basically it's it's a rondelle, but it's a map. You move around the board. You stop at various locations. You place down your crew. You buy various cards. You engage in combat. It's kind of reminiscent to Pirates of Marbo, just less fun so far. It really feels like Pirates of Marabo is just a straightup better game
  • It's just such a good game of just trying to figure out how to optimize.
  • My most favorite game on this list is Darwin's Journey.
  • It is not the easiest game to learn, but it's also not the hardest game to learn. one of my favorite games of all time. Incredible game. Absolutely amazing.

Mechanics (from transcript analysis)
  • action selection — Then we are each uh going to do one of three things. You can repair the thing. You can dismantle it or you can get rid of it.
  • Card Drafting — going to be drafting robots... the drawing and then giving everybody one is okay. I think there might be a more interesting way to divvy out the cards rather than have, you know, the players take turns drawing three or however many players you've got and then just giving people one. That's fine, but I think just openly drafting from the table might have been might have been equally interesting.
  • Hand Management — the binary nature, mostly binary nature, of discarding a thing I don't care about because I need the goodies to then put them into a new upcoming guy.
  • Resource Management — You can repair the thing. You can dismantle it or you can get rid of it and then construct one of these around your player uh board. So uh the first thing you can do is construct it. You can pay the resources down here to construct the robot.
  • Set Collection — The flowers are down here. Whoever has the most is going to get a battery in between one stage of the game and the other one. And there are three stages in the game. So, that's what those are going to do. They also give you victory points at the end of the game.

Quotes (from this video)
  • The artwork in the game is spectacular. I love the the charming, whimsical look of all of the robot cards.
  • This isn't really an I split you choose game. It is an I pick for you game.
  • If you're showing this game to somebody, you should probably let them know this is very multiplayer solitaire.
  • For me, this is going to get a seven out of 10.
