Dice Tower Spotlight: Aberration and Oblivion's Embrace
Transcript
In the dark fantasy world of Grim Hollow, something is moving through the forest and its eyes are set on your village. Aberration is a cooperative tower defense game for one to four players where you're not defending a single tower. You're trying to keep an entire village alive through the night. Each player controls a unique hero and class combination using a bag of action chips to move, fight, command villagers, and secure vantage points around the village. As you improve your abilities, you'll add new chips to your bag and shape your hero towards the role that your group needs. But the beast is growing stronger, too. Shadows creep towards the village. Aberrations become increasingly dangerous, and corruption can permanently destroy spaces of the map, which brings the enemy even closer. And taking damage comes with another problem. Your heroes begin to transform into the very monsters they're fighting, gaining powerful new abilities along with some unfortunate side effects. This new campaign also introduces Oblivion's Embrace, which is an expansion featuring two new campaign arcs, new characters, locations, enemies, and a new enemy faction, a cult with its own goals and mechanisms. Decisions and losses carry forward as well, so what happens to your village doesn't simply disappear when the game ends. And for returning players, this is more than a straight reprint. The core game has been reworked using 2 years of community feedback.
Previous expansions have been rebuilt and consolidated, and all the miniatures are now included in the core box. The fires are lit. The shadows are moving. Can you survive the night?
