hello everyone this is Johannes and this is Cinema and you are watching board gaming ramblings and today we are taking a look at restart this is going to Kickstarter and of course everything here is going to be prototype components in this game you are traveling back in time depending on which module you're playing there is something going to stop the world from existing and you have to go back you're going back in time to fix it and if you are the best person at fixing it you will win by getting victory points because everybody knows victory points will save the world we're going to talk about this game I'm going to briefly tell you what you're going to do on your round you're going to do different things you're going to start by moving your adult figure around on the board these are actually going to be under them but we can't fit it on our camera so you are going to place them there now you understand it it's this piece I'm going to move it around it can't be with its child figure because you cannot meet your child like yourself as a child willom implode the time and space mechanism of time you're going to go around you're going to then Place cards from your hand on top of these spaces let's say I'm over here I could play a card over there I'm going to do what's on it and then I am going to continue my turn what you're trying to do is to match the symbols that you're going to have uh on your playboard we're going to talk about this Beast soon uh you're going to try to match these so let's say here I would have wanted these to be I can't actually switch but let's say it

was like this blue blue green I could then play pay the time for this to score this to get points at the end of the game I am trying to do different things in this mind phase or in this uh second phase of the game by doing different things I'm saying different things because the modules are different one you're going to play You're going to roll dice and try to get the right symbol to move on tracks getting points and getting extra point for being far ahead another module you are going to get these X and Y chromosomes to get set collections or Straits basically like 5 4 3 2 1 and there's even more those are the ones we have played we haven't gotten to play them all just so you know and then you're going to get some income depending on the cards you study here on your player board and the fragments you the time fragments that you get you will also get bonus actions more income possible to do the actions here more times on your turn or be able to play more cards move more or play cards where your child token is that is basically what you're going to do let's talk about this game and first it's impossible to talk about this game we talking about this yes it's one of the coolest player boards I've ever seen like you can flip it together like this there's a magnet there and it is quite versatile so you can place your like pattern cards over here and it's actually so you can switch these two around so if people are sitting beside each other you can still have those hidden and also so you can tuck these cards underneath so there's a

space for them here as well which is pretty cool and you for different modules you have this like switchable piece that you place under it as well so I love this player board when you see this game this is what's going to drag you towards seeing it I think this might be the coolest card holder in a like like integrated into a game I have seen and there's also this is we just Place some symbols here there's going to be different character cses have different abilities that you place in here as well as I said these can be moved around so when we played this was placed up here and you couldn't see it at all so like you I could have always have a look on my my chain cards and always be able to do it I have to say the rest of the production even though it's prototype is also very good there's different board this is for the one module that we played this is for another module that we did not play so the two other modules using the board other things are using the different cars and different components in the game the game has four main modules and even some smaller modules that you can add to all of the modules to mix and match to play depending on like how strategic you want it how luck based you want it how complex you want it as I would say like the variability is pretty high yeah and the the module that you usually play with dictate how you're using this action and so you get different like rules for that module that you want to

accomplish and the those two that we played have felt pretty different yeah absolutely the one was this is pretty luck based you have some mitigation for the dice but you are rolling dice feels like a yatsi yatsi kind of thing whereas this was also more about like trying to to puzzle and move things around it felt in a way like I was playing some kind of weird solitier oh yeah because I was like trying to move this talk about that but I felt that way while we played it I will say that what I really enjoy about this is that it gives you a lot of different ways to play the game the rule book also have a a light little table telling you like this is how long this one is is how luck based it is these things another cool thing thematically is that after you're done with a game we didn't do this but after you're done with a game you can evaluate depending on the cards laying out and that is going to dictate the one you play next there is even a kind of campaign mode you can play so you can mix and match this and play it in many different ways but the core system of this game is this puzzle here because this is all about pattern building so when you place cards you might want to do the action that the card has but you also want to place the card with the right color in the right space and it was so funny that I had set up for this to be perfect and you switched it up to get this instead I love that I didn't see that so yeah blue green uh blue and purple so when playing

with two it felt like I had a bit of agency because like you can use these void tokens and you can basically skip this part of the turn to get more void tokens that you can use them to to uh differential or to to to basically make it into a wild color with four people it might for some be too chaotic it might feel more like I too much is changing I'm setting up something and it's going to change a lot until my turn yes and you can be both lucky that some change people could change the color into the one that you wanted and then it's very easy to match or you can try again and again to get this this is like the leval tree pattern which is pretty hard because this you can kind of uh have in different spaces but this has to be like specific to this needs to be green yeah there's no doubt about it and never get it going but we' just played this game with two players yeah I think that with more it might feel like those even though they give more points might be too hard to finish but that's just like a feeling we had I am enjoying that you are playing some cards here studying them which they called to change out the different bonuses and posit points you're getting for the fragments you're playing so for example if I had one of these fragments over here I would now draw one extra card as end around so you're kind of building your ends in that way way and throughout the game you might be in a position where you're going to be like oh that's the same action oh that's the same action but it might be in a position where I'm like oh

I would like to switch it with this so when I get another one I would get one of these pills every time I play instead uh so you have like different reasons to play out here and play here and also you will try to tuck cards bury them as it's called to score just the points at the end of the game there is also these which kind of mitigate some of the uh fragments that you can build up easier during the game yeah I think the abilities uh like you can put the fragments into the way you want them to be and also that you can supplement if I want this for example I don't have a fragments those are a little harder to come by I can pop in this pill and I will have it for that round I have to say that if you know us we usually don't like luck in games and the more heavy the game is the Le less we like luck if you're like us you might feel like this is going to be a too much luck based game because there are some layers of luck there is also mitigation in many ways so for example the first time we played I just thought like okay I'm playing YSI I'm I'm just going to enjoy that and I did because I was just like I'm just going to hope that I get full cool stuff because I also like rolling Dice and doing like that yay I got it but the more heavy the game is the less I like it but because there is enough mitigation I didn't mind it too much but there is just like some layers of luck with the cars you get there is going to be some on display but if somebody nobody wants them or just like the color you want never goes there or something

like that of course you can use the void so there is mitigation but just know that so if you're looking at this and you have as an aversion to luck as we do this might be too lucky for you yes so who will like this I think you're going to like this if you obviously if you like what you see if you enjoy games a lot of variability with a lot of different setups and different modules you can mix and match and of course you have to not mind that luck Factor if you are purely against luck I don't think this is going to be for you if you don't mind that to just change up some people like it that's changing up of things with luck we we usually don't but some people do and and this might be more for that crowd for sure yes we hope this video was helpful to you to decide if this game is for you or not if you think this is something you should check out then you can check out the kickstarter in the description and if you don't think it's for you then there's a lot of other games you can back or just play the games that you have on your shelf as well there's only one more thing to do yes which is to subscribe oh yes because if you already have forgotten you can do it yes it's free and we will wait here till you do it's the last thing we need for this video to end oh yes you did it because it's very quick you only have to click it once and you're subscribed for life it's magical yay you can also like the video and comment below it if you want to if you don't want to do it anyways because it's helpful and we appreciate it that's true that's going to be the end thank you so much for watching I'm Johannes I'm C and you been watching board gaming ramblings

and bye-bye
