Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat.
JED GOD. OH, SORRY. I MEAN NEWS. Welcome to the Dice Hour. I'm Tom Vassel.
I'm Z Garcia. Hi,
I'm Joey Evans.
There is so much stuff going on right now. And actually, there's not a ton of news today. There will be things announced next week. So, I'm sure that two weeks from now when we get back to doing the news, there'll be a lot to go through. I'm going to
at least two different like press conference type things at Gen Con. There's always companies announcing things there. But, uh, yeah, we got some news. We're going to jump right into it. First of all,
oh, there we go. First of all, Dice Tower West. Registration for Dice Tower West in 2027 goes live on August 3rd. August 3rd at I believe it's noon Eastern Standard Time, 9:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. So, come join us. It's going to be fantastic. And I mentioned Gen Con already. We're going to be at Gen Con. I'm going to do a whole video on all the different things we're doing at Gen Con, playing games and doing things. We have a big game bag giveaway. And we're also going to be selling Dwars of Aqualon, the sequel to Nitlier at our booth. First come, first served. As you can see though, we're right by a door there. So if you're at our booth and you don't like us, it's easy to escape.
We're 259, right?
249.
You know what? You'll find us a 5'9. We'll wave at you.
It also occupies because the booth is a 10 by 20 if I'm not mistaken. It occupies the space that would go to 250. So I just keep remember I keep remembering that 250 people 250 is 250 baby.
Okay.
Okay.
You know that's that's good that sticks in my head. So 249
249. All right.
All right. Why already
I am convinced that the Shiel Essen deliberately times their announcements the week before Gen Con because they're jerks. It really feels that way. I get a lots of emails. They're like do this and this and like this week
of all weeks. Anyway, there the tickets for them open on July 22nd. That was yesterday.
Oh wow.
Um anyhow, there's a bunch of different things they're going to have. This is the first year they're using all eight halls. So
I feel like they say that every I must have just been hearing it. You
that one hall was for lines last year.
Okay. So it is being used for booths. They're using the whole thing.
Well, they must they better get on building a ninth hall then.
Tabled ninth hall. I think this is bad for us uh exhibitors because what happens is
that hole was being used to hold lines.
Yeah.
And so if the lines get too big, Essen does this. They'll be like, "Ah, we're open."
Which is not good when you're running. You guys figured out.
They do. They have soft opening times. Yeah.
Really?
Yes. And I think if it's raining outside, they might be like open.
It's supposed to be open at 9:00, but sometimes it'll be like 8:45 and they're like, "We're tired of waiting. People are getting restless."
Although they're like weird. That's rough. like, "BUT WE'RE NOT READY."
YEAH. YEAH. They'll just They They are not They don't stick to it if they don't feel like it. [snorts]
Wow.
All right.
You never been there, Joey?
Mm-m.
Scott Brady uh has designed quite a few games. A lot of party games. Uh we just reviewed one of his or we're reviewing it this week. I can't remember when it went up.
Yes. The G Sizewise.
Size-wise. I think that went up yesterday. Maybe.
It went up already.
Yeah. And Hughes and Q's. Scott is a good game designer. I'm not particularly sure he's a good namer because he's naming his studio a game studio. I kept reading I kept reading the press release so confused. Press release is like a game studio today announced proof and play blah blah blah. A game studio this and I'm like what game studio? Oh, it's called a game studio.
That would really hurt press releases going forward, isn't it?
This is a terrible name. It's a terrible title. It's a terrible logo, my friend.
Oh my word. I wasn't going that far. It is. Look, I'm sorry. If I look at just the logo, it has an A at the top, but then clearly an S at the bottom. There's no G in there.
It's just a S.
You think that S is meant to be there?
I hope so, cuz otherwise it's just sloppy design. But it should be, if anything, G S.
Well, here's the thing, though. If you take that Ah,
turn it upside down,
it is a G.
Are they?
Yeah. which is a a very clever touch and they absolutely should use that in their design.
I lied. It's a P, I think.
I can't tell. I can't do it upside down.
It depends if you rotate. If you flop it down, it's a G.
Okay. Anyhow,
well, let's talk about what it is, though. So, um, this is a new boutique publishing initiative.
It's going to help tabletop games reach the market faster. So, it's going to start with two games called Lock and Chain and Perfect 10. And so it sounds like this is a a thing between designers and publishers.
Perfect 10 already was a game back in like the 90s. Is it a reprint of that?
Uh I don't know it. Anyhow, so this is this proof of play. I guess they're it's it's sort of a I don't understand this. This is a publishing model that's going to allow games to be published through premium limited edition releases. So then they're going to go through different channels and you'll be able to buy these games and then a publisher be like, "Oh, all whatever limited run number is has sold out. Maybe I would be interested in now publishing."
Got it. Got it. Got it. This is a
It's a It's It says it's more than a first printing, although it sounds like it's mostly a first printing. It's a games market validation.
So they'll make 300 of your thing.
Yeah. Yeah.
To test the waters and see if somebody wants to pick you up because those 300 sold out and there's still some fervor there. It's what it sounds like.
Yeah.
Is that not a similar model to that company that would print cards on demand a little bit?
That's what it sounds like.
Yeah, I guess. But maybe this is better and bigger. Lock and chain. It's an area control card game. Perfect 10's an elegant card game. They're both card games which are easier to do this with.
Of course.
Oh, we'll see. I wish Scott all the best in this. [clears throat] Hasbro wants you to know they full of money.
Yes.
So the Magic the Gathering and Marvel is together and I just bought and we just looked at the starter set which was the only thing we could afford.
It's called beginner box and it is very purposefully priced to give you that first taste.
Yeah,
you can afford that one. It's undercosted if anything and then the rest of it is
it's funny. I saw this I'm like I don't like magic and then I saw that artwork. I'm like, I do like that artwork though.
It's
Yeah, but you'll like it more than that. This magic set, the one that we got, the starter box, comes with eight 40 eight 20 card decks and you take two of them, mix them together, and that's your deck.
It's It's kind of It's jump start if you know what jump start is.
Like smash. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Right. Right. It's smash. It's smash.
You like that? You picked I do like that a lot.
You'll You'll like it. I think you'll like it. Have you played Magic before?
A little. Well, I played the turtles one with you and I played the base one a couple times, but not a lot. Not as
So, we'll try this jump start one.
I love 40 card formats, too. Well, 60 card formats, but but 40 is fun.
This is another one that just scares me because there's such a I mean, I don't know how to construct decks. So,
you won't and you won't have to for this. The box is very simple on purpose, of course. Any reason the uh the the reason that we're I'm mentioning this is because their first quarter here
their sales were up 27% 663.8 million. Uh it was quarter two, sorry, quarter two.
Nice.
Last year was 522.4 million. So if you are sitting around going, "Ah, all this stuff is diluting the brand. They're never going to make the money." They're making the money.
Wow.
It's definitely working. 27% is great increase in profits. Um, uh, their tabletop sales were up 30%.
Wow.
Uh, 528.3 from 406.3. I think that might include Dungeons and Dragons. I'm not sure.
Okay.
But Magic was the big seller. And they said it's fueled by this Marvel superhero and also a record release of Secrets of Stricks Haven. That must have been their normal set.
That is the in universe set of a sort of Harry Potter setting.
Okay. with magic schools and whatnot. It's a followup to given already how magic can keep growing. And he said that the they get they're getting an increasing number of players brought in from the universes beyond which is what this is called. Universes DND has universes and the different planes of universes and then they have universes beyond which is their code for we're going to put anything in uh magic. It said something in this cuz I read through a bit of it how they're not going to put him in New York due to like fans saying they don't want that or whatever. So it's like what do you mean?
I don't know. I I I didn't know what that hole is. So it's the comic. I guess it's in the universe of magic or whatever. It's weird how it's like they're not putting them in an actual
It's definitely New York. I mean I don't know. The Spider-Man had things like
different properties have not been revealed. He said the 2027 part parters are more fantasy adjacent. noting I don't think any of them will take place in New York City because we have definitely got that. I don't even know what that means.
I don't either. Okay. I was I thought you guys might know.
No, no, no, no. It's definitely in Yeah, they did Spider-Man in New York, TMNT's in New York.
That's why I wonder none of the upcoming ones will be in New York because we've got that covered. I think that's what that means.
Got it. Okay. All right. So,
they're saying because they've gotten a lot of push back with
Oh, because this is all New York this this
Yeah. Right. technically, you know. So,
okay. Okay. So, going
they're saying is, "Hey, calm down people. The upcoming ones are more fantasy adjacent and we promise they won't be in New York and we'll show things like a hot dog cart or a flying pigeon
in New York."
I have to say though,
Subway.
Okay.
We really live in confusing times. Me and my son have been watching X-Men 97 and the Avengers show up near the end that briefly they're like cameos in it. And my son's like, "Wait a minute." I'm like, "Yeah, they're it's all in the same universe." And he's like, "Why have we never seen them before in the movies?" That's
and and it's like
so then I showed him the new trailer for Doomsday and everything. He's like, "Okay, so they come from a different universe." I'm like, "Yes, what about Batman Superman?" Well, they're in a different universe, but that universe does that intersect with our ah until ruins.
Yeah. Yeah. Now you got to answer all the questions.
Say X-Men and Avengers were always separate in the comics, too. I don't know why.
No, they came together every once in a while, but not a lot.
Enough. There's a whole line called Avengers versus X-Men. That's because people kept clamoring for it. I
They got together back in Secret Wars.
Yeah. Okay. I'm talking about Teemos, but like normally Spider-Man wouldn't say call Wolverine. Okay.
Call Johnny Storm.
Okay. Joey obviously does not read the comics. I apologize all out there.
X-Men are just like read Spider-Man apparently. Okay. Anyway,
I thought this was a April Fool's joke. It is not.
I like this.
So, this is called Shelfie. This is from Brother Wise Games and this is launching at Gen Con this this week uh or next week. Uh this is a collectible product here where you buy a starter set that comes with a little shelf like this and then you get little wooden games to put on display here. But they're also random. This is a collectible game
and they have like and they have like foil treatment super rare and like you know the ones that are more common and less common. Yes,
there's only 28 games
so far. That's wave one.
Yeah, I know. But there's only 28 games. So the idea of there being rares I mean I don't
I know. I know.
So I This is a little weird to me. I don't
It's like those things you buy at like a shelf at Target and it's a little pack. the little cube and you crack it open and see what you got.
No, no, no. I I get the
But, but for board games, you like fake board games that you then display on a fake shelf. I guess it's supposed to be a bit like a thing for your desk or whatever. Is that the bit? Is that
That's what it Which honestly I thought that would be cute, but then I'd want to buy the games I want on there. The blind bag got
on the secondary market, baby. Come buy the rare for me.
I agree. But And what is that gray thing in that cup?
Where is that? That's
a thermometer. That's a highlighter.
That's a big
It does look like either a thermometer or box cutter or something, but you're right. It might be a highlighter, maybe.
Okay. Anyway, get off the the the mug. I think the mug is for scale.
But again, I I just don't get this on a personal level because if it's in my house, for example, I could just turn my head and look at the shelf itself,
but it's too big. I would put it on my desk here in the office
if I could choose which
right around the corner from the Dice Tower library.
Okay, I understand that.
But but I mean but then also you're not going to get your favorite games. You're going to have to wait for many many sets. Like maybe you're lucky and I mean they have a good selection. These are some pretty good games here. I think
I think this is going to be a thing now between this and the game makers and everything else. It's like
you think this will do well. The self-reerential thing. Yeah. You think this will do well? Do you think this will like get extra waves?
Because it's unique.
Oh, no. But I hate the collectible nature of this a lot. I I do.
I don't mind collectibility in card games as much as I know board gamers always scream about it. But you buy a pack of cards, I can use all these cards. I have three of the same card. I can still use it. Commons are commons. After a while,
yes,
you buy a lot. But when you're buying smaller groups of things, it bothers me a lot because I don't need any duplicates ever for this,
right? I never want two of the same game. And if it's a common game, who am I? I'm not going to be like, "Oh, hey kids, you want a small return to Dark Tower to take to school in your pocket?" They don't care,
right? It just blows my mind that this is You're buying miniature board game. You're collecting a replica of a thing you collect.
No other hobby can I think of that does that. Nobody. You know what I mean? Like but
I can't maybe cars, maybe like matchbox cars.
You only have a little baseball bat on your desk. I've seen stuff like that before. Little
You don't collect like
I like the fact and then like all the players you open up a bag and you're like, "Hey, finally I got Derek Jeter and then I got this."
Well, people do collect bobbleheads and little hats. There's stuff I mean,
but they also don't own those players.
This is so realistic that Gloom Haven does not fit in the CL. By the way,
I think you're the second person to tell me that.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think they just put it up top to be cute. I think
Well, we'll see. I I think it'll because people are like, what you say? Self-reerential that people are.
Yeah, it's very Yeah,
I'll I'll go farther. I think it's going to sell out like crazy. Actually,
I agree. Cuz it's very cute, very unique, very like
such a weird thing, though.
Are you going to buy one?
Not because they're blind bags. If they weren't blind bags, I would probably
Well, I think there's a starter set you can get on that shelf. I'd pay more for the ones that I want than just secondary market real game and put it on your real shelf.
Oh, that's true.
That's a good point. This
compar looked at the pricing of these, but
yeah.
You know what, though? This might be better for some of y'all who just put your games on the shelves anyway. This will save you money.
Okay. I can see the BGA people doing this,
you know.
Oh, that's funny. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
All right. All right. Games Workshop is launching Warhammer Academy, an online resource for new Warhammer players. 150 videos aimed at helping new people take their first steps in the hobby. No, that's great.
That's cool. That's cool.
A lot of videos, man.
I'll tell you, when I first got into Warhammer right out of college,
there was no welcoming academy. The academy was
okay.
Oh, that's what you consider a painted army.
I don't think we should say welcoming a Warhammer in the same sentence, but
Well, they're trying. They're trying. They're trying.
I think this is good.
Also, it's available in a lot of languages. English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.
This is one I've always wanted to try cuz their train their stuff looks just great.
You want to try the game or you want to like paint some stuff? What do you mean? Cuz I saw you paint some stuff.
I did good.
Yeah, you did good. We painted Tom at East.
Joey and I we went to the paint and take and
he's he's a he's a pretty good instructor. He's not as mean as he normally is.
I'm not mean at all. If I'm being serious, I just Google I told him my secret painting project that I tried. You did?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
He's really good. He's like, just try to blend these two a bit more. Just do.
All right. Well, that's good.
No, you had a good time and you did a good job.
Well, good.
Yes.
You're never going to see the mini.
I mean, I'm sending you a link to the academy for sure.
Frog tower. That frog at the bottom is having a terrible day and is going to have to go to the chiropractor.
Oh, big time. Sweating.
That fish is like true. The fish is like, "Wow."
All righty. This is from Good Games Publishing. Uh, this is a Tower of Colorful frogs. It's going straight to retail. And you know what I find interesting? If this is not sold at Gen Con, if it's out, I don't know if it is or not at that point, you can [clears throat] walk around the corner from Gen Con to a Good Games retail store. Good Games owns a retail store right outside Gen Con.
Really?
Yeah.
That this publisher owns a Oh, okay.
You've probably been to that. There's a little retail store right there.
I did not I did not realize it was this company.
Yeah. Good Games owns that retail store.
Okay. Well, there you go. Go get it.
Brumble Quest. This is kind of a like a stealth type release. Not quite, but the Pla Hat didn't really push us ahead of time. This is a small little tiny game.
Mhm.
That says it can go up to 50 players. Having played it now, I feel like 50 players is an incredible stretch because everyone has to point at a card on the table. So, you would need to get 50 players around the table. Also, there's 50 sheets in the game. So, if you play it with 50 players, you've played it once. I guess you can print out more sheets. Um,
that's impossible. But basically, you put three cards on the table. Everyone points at one of those cards. And depending on, you always take a damage every turn. If you take four damage, you're dead. Okay?
But you won't take damage if the card you point at that one says you avoid damage if another card has more players pointing at it. So then you don't take the damage as long as another card there's more people pointing at it.
So it's like a prisoner's dilemma.
You also get gems. So when someone does die,
whoever has most gems wins. or if someone gets to a certain number of gems.
Everyone doesn't put out a card, right? No, there's three cards. Okay.
And everyone, you're like one, two, three, bram, bumble, or whatever, and you all point at a card.
Wow.
I played it. That's interesting.
It sounds good. I'm sure I'm sure the interaction between the cards is going to create some interesting.
It's also 10 bucks. Just a simple little game.
That's Yeah.
Cool.
All ducks.
It's more like a ducks, I think.
No, it's not. It's all ducks instead of shucks. A ducks.
Okay. So, it's a duck ducks.
Ducks.
Okay. Okay.
Or no, those are the only two options.
It's It looks like a banger.
It does.
This is from Asmati Games, you know.
Color. Yes.
No, no, no, no, no. I I I I pre-ordered some stuff from Asmati, and I don't remember if this was on the list of ones I I pre-ordered or not at at Gen Con because they have a you go online and you can pre-order. Don't actually pay for it, but then you go there and say, "I want these." And they give you the games. That way you don't have to wait in line.
Oh, I see.
I forgot that. Oh, man.
Well, I got them all. You just play mine.
What is this? So, what is this thing?
Okay, so this is a two, four, push your luck game. There's cards number one to six and six colors as well as ducks in five colors along with rainbow ducks. And each turn, you'll either draw, score, or discard. When you draw a number goes in your tableau, a duck makes you discard all cards of a matching color from your tableau. So, you got to be careful. Um, but if you want to score, so you're basically drawing cards in to score.
I think you're probably drawing from the top of a deck. And if you get a duck, it kills all the cards with that color.
Okay.
So maybe red, five odds or five evens. Yellow, four numbers in a row. You're trying to get that. But you can also
bank everything in your tableau in your score
um to but you can also discard. You can throw away a card in your tableau taking a special action. So, like if you draw discard a five or six, you can score the top two cards of the deck. This actually sounds
in the same line as I don't remember remember if you remember red seven.
Yeah, I was gonna say well when I saw the colors and the look of this, I was like, is this a red seven implementation reimplementation? But no, you're right. Sounds like there's a little more game here maybe than in red seven, but uh yeah,
I don't love how it looks necessarily, but I do
but I am very interested in playing it. All righty. Um, Aries Games is partnering with Dark Horizon to distribute Earth Under Siege, Flashoint, and its expansions.
That is a full-on Stargate. That's like a Hey, are you going to sue us or are we going to be able to
I don't know that I don't think that guy can fit through the Stargate.
No, I That's Have you heard of this Earth Under Siege Flashoint thing before? Is this a brand new thing? Okay.
Is it based on anything or No.
Uh, web comic, let me guess.
Uh, I don't know.
A web comic. Anyway, Aries is going to distribute this, so you'll see it from them.
All right, cool. It looks neat. I like the artwork.
I'm in. Villainist is not yet run out of villains. Disney villainist. So, the two villains in this one are um
Coco guy,
the bad guy from Coco. They're both I love this one. They're both spoilers.
Who the villains are,
right? I mean, if you haven't seen it.
Oh, really? I haven't seen Coco. This is the bad guy.
Ernesto de la Cruz. No, that's not the bad guy. Ernesto de la Cruz and Prince Hans from Frozen cuz when Prince Hans first shows up you're like WHAT A NICE GUY
THAT was a good
the villain
in Frozen.
That's a real heard song about a billion times but I haven't seen the movie. Okay. Well, that is weird then having a villain.
They're also very low on Disney villains at this point. Get it? I get it.
Okay. Here's a journey of a villainous went away because I bought it thinking this would be a good thing to play with non-gamers. It was not right. They did come out with a introduction to evil or something kind of thing and that was that was meant to be
it's like a gamers game for non-gamers.
Yes. Which is I mean gamers I guess they're the ones keeping this around because it's very gamery because some of those factions or whatever you call them. It's very asymmetric.
This is cool though. They're still going. Yeah.
Not just that.
Oh, I like that cover.
Name every one of them right there. Z go
done. First one is Maleficent.
Yes.
The second one is the queen from Snow White.
Yeah. Evil Queen. She has no name.
Evil Queen. The next one I can't see well enough.
What is that?
It's Ursula or whatever. Ursula.
Yeah. From the mermaid. The next one is uh
that is
helmet head.
I don't know any of the other.
I don't actually know the next one.
I know the first two and then I'm I'm I'm done after that.
Is that like a cupcake queen? The second one in from the right like cupcake queen.
Her hair looks like a little queen and princess Leia.
The Sanders and sisters from Disney's Hocus Pocus. I think that might be that's definitely the top right one. Right.
The top three. That's three of them, right?
Maybe. Maleficent, Evil Queen, and Ursula. You're right. Those all three of those are
That's why I don't know them. They're all related to one property. Yeah.
Okay. That's why.
Anyway, this combines newest villains joined the game series. I'm not quite sure if this is the simpler villainous. It's all confusing to me now because I know Evil Queen and Ursula were already in.
That's it.
Yeah. What is this?
The fourth one's Belle. Definitely the villain on Beauty and the Beast. Everything was fine till she showed up. I saw like a comic where she goes and she's like, "Dad, everyone was singing about me." He's like, "Yeah, I heard him rehearsing it the other day."
All right. Pirates of Arabo Ship Builders. This is a third expansion for Pirates of Archibos. This game is doing very well.
Um, and this is, I'm assuming, coming out later this year
from DLP and then probably Capstone, I would guess.
Yeah.
Loyalty Rome. Uh, this is a two to four player game where you are a Roman senator vying for the favor of the gods. Um, the box, I don't know if the box is so fine, but that picture of the game, I'm like, "Oo,
looks good, right?" With dice, it actually kind of looks like uh the Las Vegas dice game cuz the dice are clearly arranged numerically.
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
You know what I mean? It's not I'm obviously, but
I also really like that that multicolored pyramid that's at the number three.
Multicolored pyramid.
There's two three dice there. Right underneath that is a multiolor pyramid. It's hard to see cuz the red parts under our picture. Yeah. Yeah.
But that's a little multicolor pyramid.
I wonder if that's a dye.
I don't know. But I but I want it. That's pretty cool.
Okay. Cute. That cover does not seem to fit that that vibrancy of those pieces, man. Add some color in there.
Yeah.
All right. Underwood. Now, that is a cover. That is a great cover, I think.
Nice.
Uh although the game looks like other games I've seen this one, the cover is better than the game. Yeah, the cover looks way more thematic. Maybe that what's going on on the board there. I like the leaves for flavor though.
From Andrea Manini. So these are all DLP games that we're talking about here. And I'm assuming these are all coming out at Gen I mean at Essen.
All right. Chivalry. This is a
another DLP game. This is David Turtzy.
Um and
the time frame of this one. See that?
45 to 120 minutes.
Where do you see that?
It's on here.
It says it in the thing here. Yeah. One to four player. 45 to 120. So the 45 is for one player,
right?
Um so you have different knights and you're going to ride around with these knights in Camwatt and you're going to do different skills and I don't know. You're just
it's going to be a complex game because it's David Turtzy, I assume, right? I mean
I kind of like the uh stained glass artwork. That's a that's a new style.
You would get tired of it throughout the entire every card in stained glass.
Well, I think I I don't know that I would. I think the cards look pretty good. I think the cover doesn't look as good. I don't know why. Maybe it's because it's in a box.
Yeah.
But like the cards themselves, you can see that they're a window and things. And I like that better.
To be fair, the cards, unless I'm wrong, the person standing on the card is not done in a stained glass window style.
Yeah, they're standing in front of a stained glass window, which I really like that look.
I agree with I agree with Joey. If everything was in a stained glass vibe, it gets a little heavy-handed, though. So the Lord of the Rings stretch taking game kind of did that.
It did.
They very soft.
Yeah,
they softened it up.
So Fibage, this is coming from Jackbox Games, and they are turning Fibage into a physical card game.
Now, to be fair, this already exists. It's called, you know, Boulder Dash.
That's what I was thinking. This is Boulder Dash, but there questions.
Sort of Boulder Dash. Yeah. Basically, they give you a line and you fill it in. Fibage is a fun game. In fact, I me and my family just played this a few days ago because when the whole family's in town,
we tend to play Jackbox.
This is out. Oh, it's on Jackbox.
Oh, Jackbox 12 is coming soon. Anyway, uh Fibage is one of those games that always works. You just you type in an answer and you hope people pick yours because and then you're trying to pick the real one. Uh, I don't know how this one's going to work well because I noticed the cards say print and block letters,
but I'm still probably going to know who prints what after a while.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a good point
cuz Boulder Dash gets around that by
one person reads them all to everyone and that's the person who knows the fake answer or the real answer.
Yeah.
So, I I don't know. The only the only way I think this would work better is if you give the a card out with the right answer and then the fake it and the rest say um you're a liar and you mix them up, hand them out and everyone writes it and like well that's Z's answer but it could be true.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Um anyway, we're getting a copy of this so we'll tell you all what we think of it when it comes in. I love Boulder Dash. Jackbox. I love Jackbox. I'm just curious to see what this how this translates to physical media.
So, we're almost back to the days of fantasy flight games here where CGE announced this surprise game. It would have been more fun, I think, if they had waited
to Gen Con and been like, "It's here."
But this is it's also very self-reerential. Surprise shipment is a surprise Lost Runes of Arnack expansion at Gen Con. Now, it's not a huge expansion, 50 cards. in the box. It says cards better fit in the box.
That box is pretty full though, right? I mean, that's what I was thinking.
Don't go sleeveing the cards if you still want.
It says the expansion neatly fits in the adventure chest. I think also somewhere I read or heard that this is it.
This is definitely the last thing that will fit in there. I think that
Oh, I agree. Yeah.
Um Yeah. Well, good. You're getting it right.
Oh, 100%.
So, I know you are too, right? Yeah. It's just it's
that's cool. No, that's cool. Yeah, for sure.
It's got kitty on there.
Where?
Where's your bigger one?
Kitty.
I like the little magnifying glass on there.
That is definitely how the two animals are. The cat's like, "Give me that box." And the dog's like, "I'm just glad to be here."
Are we playing with the box now?
Why are dogs stupid?
You mean cute?
Yeah.
I don't know. I wish I did. Every morning I ask that question.
Dogs are the best.
The best. We're all three dog people more than cat people.
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Yes. But I still
You're like a
gota call a spade a spade. A dog's dumb. But I love them.
I think dogs are not dumb. I think dogs are very smart.
But cats, man, cats are there. There's like other level. There's another level.
Yeah.
You know what I mean? To a cat.
Yeah.
Cats clats plan. Dogs don't plan.
Like dogs are smart. Cats are intelligent.
Yes. And they know how to spell the word. You know what I mean? Yeah. That's the difference. Well, folks, that is all the news that we have. So, we will we have another live event coming at 2 o'clock today.
2 o'clock
where me and Chris and Mike are going to be going through the list of games from Gen Con, which is [clears throat]
so humongous.
Yes.
So, we're probably not going to make it through to us, but we're going to go through as many as we can. [clears throat]
So, come join us as we give our thoughts and opinions. The good news is we played many of them already. Yeah.
Or at least we know a lot about many of them.
No spoilers, though. How is that? Yes, we'll spoil. If we don't like the game, we'll tell you. Why would we? Like, here's a game. No spoilers in my thoughts, though.
Like, that would help me a lot. Like, that's like, should I go see it? I don't want to spoil it.
Then I went, it's terrible. You're like, well, I didn't want to ruin the surprise.
I'm going to tell you the plot of Doomsday right now then.
I'm not going to tell you the
Jim was tempted. You're a bad person.
A script leaked apparently. and he was tempted to read it. Or maybe he did read it.
Oh, I did read. I really want to tell you guys.
What is wrong with you? Why would you read that? You can very easily control yourself.
Okay. Well, one thing you shouldn't have read it, but the other problem is he is consistently trying to get us to listen to him tell us about it.
I really want to tell you.
I And I have I told him we were done being friends. I I No, I that would be really bad. I
That'd be bad.
Keep it in myself. I'm
You have to deal with this now for like months. 4 and a half months.
The last time I mentioned it, it will not be the last time you read that. That took effort.
It did take
That was not like, "Oh, no. I saw that. I didn't mean to." You know what I mean?
I read the whole thing.
idiot.
Okay. It'd be great if it's wrong.
I It's probably wrong.
I hope it's wrong.
You're hoping it's wrong.
I'm hoping it's wrong.
But then you read it purpose. I can't deal with you, Joey. I can't deal with you.
All righty, folks. I'll talk to you later. Until then, I'm Tom.
