0:53 Yeah. And that is with the seller expansion. Hello everyone and welcome back to the wolf pack. Today we're talking all about two brand new expansions to tend. First off is going to be the seller expansion. We're going to give you an overview of how that works and then afterwards we're going to show you hive and then play through a full game of hive. I am already shaking and quivering in my hands because Bons is so good at this game. It's not even funny how good Bond's been in this game. But there's a secret that I haven't told Bonds yet.

2:15 Okay, let's dive first into seller. Show everybody what's like in seller. This is a mini campaign of three 10 games that you play back to back to back. You're going to be aging or finding goods, selling goods in a market stall, and using storage for subsequent games. Now, for every beginning game of seller, everyone is going to actually choose a season card for seller. But we are going to show you the app today.

2:42 And you can do use the app on a desktop, too. It doesn't have to be on like a tablet or phone.

2:46 Mhm. And what's really nice is that the setup speeds up dramatically. You just push one button and it goes straight to round one, two, and three. And then it's already ready for you to try out the Hive seller expansion. You just for us, we're going to turn off the advanced cards. If you want to follow along for today for our Hive expansion, I'll pop up this QR code when we get there, but we'll put a seed here that you can follow. For now, we can turn on the seller companion app. It'll reset. And then again, you can just choose cards physically or in the app. and then select it and then done.

3:18 And one thing to note as well is there's two new expansions coming out. It's going to be seller and hive. You cannot play both of those expansions together. They are standalone with the base game. The other thing is when you play on the app, it'll be a little toggle. So, I actually tested it out. You can't toggle both of them on.

3:41 so there's no way to like mess it up. One thing that the seller module brings is a storage unit. And this storage basically allows you to carry resources from one game over to the next. And you unlock each line with zenith bucks. So, for example, if I pay two zenith bucks in the first game, then I'm going to be able to here we go across my zenith bucks. Now, I'm going to be able to unlock that zenith buck for games two and three. So, at the end of game one, I would actually mark that in my two box right here. So, at game two, I know I can start off with it. Yeah.

4:17 And you're going to do that with all these resources. And this is going to help you for the following games to be able to upgrade your equipment really quickly.

4:24 You also get to use that same item that you unlocked in the same game. So, it kind of refunds you back. Zenith bucks. Zenith Bucks.

4:33 Are you part of the Zenith Corporation? That's if I was, it would be hidden information, right? It wouldn't be wellnown because it's just a low-key thing.

4:47 We'll find out when we make caviar. Okay. So, then the next part about seller is that there also is a section here for artisan equipment. So, there's a ton of new items you can make. Let's look at the cheese maker for instance. We can make cheese now in this game. So to make cheese, you have listed items here that you've known already. So once you check off iron and rainbow rocks and milk and the purple blueprint, then you've now unlocked this brand new cheese maker.

5:18 Ooh. So then once you unlock the cheese maker, you now have this readily available. Now the question is, what do you do with that cheese maker? Now we're going to zoom in on the seller expansions. Well, here is where you get to refine your goods. So you'll notice here how cheese is available in this entire column, but you will only refine goods once at the start of each growth phase. So then once you unlock one of these expansions, let's look at the first one. Let's say I poured all of my Zenith bucks into this very first row. Now this row is available. So I can take my blue cheese. Can I have one blue cheese?

5:55 Yes, you can. Let me hand this over to you right now. Do you just do you just give me the a regular resource?

6:06 Maybe maybe you shouldn't go for blue cheese.

6:09 You're going to take your blue cheese and put it into that

6:14 row. Then at the start of each growth phase, it's going to go one to the right and then eventually one to the right. Once it reaches a space where it matches that particular resource, you have now gained

6:25 cheese and you can use it right away. It is an artisan goods. So, this game introduces the artisan goods and there's a separate card here. Now, one thing that's really cool about it is if you ship it off to Zenith Corporation, they're actually going to be worth two points at the end of the game per square or per box versus the regular one point per good. So, you could see here that cheese would be six boxes. Okay, so that would be 12 points. That's a lot of points for cheese. or you can immediately turn it in and get six Zenith bucks.

6:58 And one other thing you can do with cheese is our final section here. Let's say you want to sell some goods, invest in some future rounds here. So, you can put your cheese into the market stall, which has a giant set of points. So, you notice here how there are tons and tons of areas that we can put blue cheese. Once you have marked off that entire row, then you've unlocked endame scoring for game three. How many points is that?

7:24 That's 60 points.

7:26 60 points. Okay. And it's not just rows, they're also columns. You could literally strategize the entire thing. And the highest victory point I see here is 165 points for that entire row.

7:38 Yeah. So, from scoring that we've heard so far, it goes all the way up to like 700, 800, 900 points for by the end of game three. It's crazy.

7:47 If I could breach 500, I'd be okay. One thing to note about each of these rows is you can only have one good processing per row. So if you have the first row unlocked and you have a blue cheese there, but it's not the blue cheese section yet, you can't all of a sudden add a geode. You have to be able to complete that or completely remove it and replace it.

8:09 Okay. And then there are also a couple of other things I wanted to circle back to. So for the artisan equipment, we have here a rock tumbler. So, this one is a little bit different because once you unlock the rock tumbler, you will actually put a rock into a refining area. So, can I have a a blue rock, please? Or a geode. Thank you. And then again, just like Von says, can't put it in that row that already has an artisan good. But if you've unlocked another one, say unlocked this one, you can then put the geode here. And then once it has been refined in the second growth phase, what's different is that you're actually going to be rolling two dice. And you're going to look at your geode card. You roll these dice and then you see what you get. So now I got a five and a wild. So I'll look here just like with fishing. So I'll take a five and then I probably would get a

9:01 A blue crystal. So then that will be an available resource for me to use. So we got mayonnaise, pickled pumpkins.

9:28 Exactly. That's the only way to do it. We got blue cheese, wine, and then the geode that we just went over. That right there is the seller expansion. In general, you kind of spend game one setting yourself up for future games. You want to unlock your storage. That way, you have it ready for subsequent games. Game two, you already start off with a bunch of resources that you can use to upgrade all of your tools right away. And then by game three, you just pop off, sell all your stuff in the market stall, and score big points. And at the end of each game, you put it here in the brand new seller module to add up all your points, including the one with the market stall, and then most points wins.

10:04 Yeah. So, don't forget market stall is not scored until the end of the game and you're still playing the full base game of 10. They recommend not adding the advanced cards to your setup because then they'll kind of like it will take away from the seller cards that were added for this expansion. So, just a note about that as well.

Your goal is that you'll be able to cultivate bees that make honey, and you're going to be using these brand new bee dice that are used to earn rewards. And you also have some brand new upgrades for some core task actions.

11:43 So, you got a brand new hive sheet bonds. How do these be dicey work?

11:47 Okay. In the beginning of each round, you're going to roll. The first thing is we unlock the bright yellow dye.

11:52 Mhm. The lighter die isn't upgraded until we have the enhanced apiary.

11:58 Then why are we rolling the white one every single time?

12:00 Because that's what the rules say, Tim.

12:03 It's also because just in case you're able to unlock the enhanced apiary, you'll be able to use that light dye.

If we unlocked any of our current apiaries up here in the upper right hand corner, then we can use the bright die right now, which would be a number two, and fill it in any of those boxes one time. Each of those apiaries have their own number conditions. So, we're adding a new element to the game. We're actually adding in like numbers into boxes to create resources. It's so cool. Okay. So like the first one, the yellow one in the first apiary, every single number has to be different. So if I put a two here for this one, the next number cannot be a two. You'll see that in the gameplay shortly. Then in the second one, the blue apiary says all numbers have to be equal. If I put a two there, twos have to be in every single square afterwards. In the third one, the red apiary, there is a minor mistake here.

13:20 Exactly. So, that's how the apiari work. Now, once you have all the numbers filled out, you're going to be gaining that particular colored honey every single time during the growth phase. So, once I have yellow unlocked, I'll gain yellow honey every single time. Buns, what if I wasn't rolling the right number? Is there any way for me to change these dice numbers for the bees?

13:38 Yes. Yes, you can take Claritin because if pollen affects you like it affects me, then you'll be able to plus one or minus one to all bee dice once you unlock the pollen.

13:48 Okay. Now, the bottom left section here has a bunch of different upgrades. How do they work?

13:53 It's my favorite part, Tim.

13:54 Okay, you got this. I was reading the tending upgrades and there is a compost bin where as soon as you grow something and you have to pull the remove and remove the crop, you could actually re-roll it and if it's not blank, you could replant it in the same exact spot. It's blank. I'm not replanting that one. But that's an example of the compost bin. There's also a rake. If you're in the garden, you're like, you know what? And then you take the rake and you scrape it along the ground. You might be able to find a log or a stump. And you actually want that in this game. And so you need to unlock that using four jars of yellow honey and one zenith buck. And then every time you do a tending task, you can roll a dieice and see what you find.

14:40 And then some specific tools here, the axe hammer and the mining hook. So, for these, after you've unlocked them by turning in the corresponding honey and zenith bucks, it says after that mining task, roll a dieice. So, you roll a dieice and then depending on what you get, this is a wild. So, then I can choose

14:58 Man, you're so lucky with the dice rolls. When I rolled that crop to see if I could replay, it was blank. [snorts]

15:06 Then for the axe hammer, I'll be able to gain one log.

15:09 Don't forget the base game of 10. There's still a lot that you have to manage and figure out on how to best discover this new land that you've landed upon. And how are you going to honor the Zenith Corporation if that's your true intent? But before I get into more lore, they've added new badge things that you can do called investments. So, as you're unlocking these medals on your main sheet from the base game, you can use some of those badges that you unlocked and those medals and you can invest them for the end of the game. So, for investments, it's really going to focus on medals. Now, before medals were just turned in for the Zenith Corporation or for working towards your whole badge, and those badges awarded you a ton of victory points. Well, in this case, you can actually put those medals towards your investment. And at the end of the game, per row that you complete, it'll either say plus one or plus two, and even the bottom one, plus three. Some of it requires honey. So, that's why it's the hive expansion. And you're going to add all those bonus numbers together.

16:16 So, let's say I have this row here, this row completed, I had plus three, and let's just say the plus two right above. So, I had plus five. Okay. Now, I'm going to count every single medal that I've unlocked all over my sheet. All over. There's a beekeeper badge right here. And then this section right here.

16:36 Then it would be five because that's my bonus points. Five times four, which is how many medals you made.

16:45 So, 20 points for investments. It is what it is. It's an investment.

16:49 And then the last part of the hive module is the cargo pod. So here you do have different bonuses listed here. And then if you manage to complete that entire row, you will unlock more honey. And then to finally score, you will have your total from your manifest, your cargo manifest here, plus the pod, which is right above it. And then your investments, and this will be your final total for tend with Hive. Ready to do this?
