KeyForge home tournaments—truly a 10/10 experience
And the reason it is so difficult to rank is cuz you've got kind of two different key forge experiences. You've got like the standalone game and then you've got what I've now done I think three times which is a full day get eight people together for a >> pool play feeding into a double elimination tournament where everybody goes in with a blind deck and throughout the day you learn your deck, you start learning other people's decks.
maybe even play somebody that you played earlier in pool play and I remember kind of what your deck did last time >> and the the experience that creates and keyforge facilitates it like I had been looking for a game >> that could do this type of one day tournament thing you'll remember I had dice masters you remember when I had uh Marvel X-Men dice >> and originally that was the vision is like ooh this could be draft and do this.
Ultimately, Dice Masters kind of just didn't make the cut for me and just how much we enjoyed the game. >> But Key Forge, man, it just nails it. Like looking at as a standalone game. I love the game system. The I mean, the unique deck is cool. Obviously, that's a big part of it. But just the thing of like you declare a house and your deck is made up of three and you can only use cards from that house that turn.
That is such a compelling mechanism because you so often in the game are going to end up with a very strong position in one house, but your hand might not have any more of that house. You have to decide hammering that. >> Yeah. Do I? Cuz you always get to draw back up to six cards. So, if you don't play any cards, you're kind of just like stopping your card draw, but maybe it's worth it to push your current position where you can use a lot of these these uh either artifacts or creatures you have out there.
I think it's absolutely brilliant on that front. I um agree with what you were saying that I love that it's like the forging of keys instead of just attacking because suddenly you have this interesting decision of well I could attack with my creature to get rid of yours or I could reap with this creature and just get Amber and so you have kind of this interesting >> do I feel like I'm in a stronger position where maybe I can >> just reap or do I need to do something about my opponent's position because I feel like they're putting themselves in too good of a situation.
